Useless when they don't know what they are talking about. The pyramids are fake. They were build by the US Americans in the 18th century to have some symbology for themselves that isn't European.

Hi, I think a lot of people said it already but here's my theory: The vents were seeled for the proccess of mommification, which needs a dry place, lack of oxygen and hot temperature. Once the mommification completed, than they could open the vents, to keep it cooler for the conservation of the body in the long term. That would also allow people to visit their king/queen in a better environment. I don't know if it is how it would work, I don't know the details of the entire process. But here's what I think! Nice video Wirtual, thank you for sharing the subject!

As it was sealed, many times they are just objects that eventually fell into the hole due to construction, and as they were never opened they remained there. With the conclusion that the queen chamber was not finished, and thinking that it is centered on the pyramid while the king chamber is not. They may have planned to go from the queen chamber to being the king chamber, but for some reason, they decided to abandon the work and remake the king's room in another location.

Your enthusiasm is contagious! I watched this 4 months ago, and my curiosity as an engineer was triggered. I ended up spending the next 4 weeks watching and reading all kinds of pyramid content, you demon! Unexpectedly, I eventually began to see a potential practical purpose for the pyramids: Water valves! In my professional opinion, constructing a pyramid to support a vertical column of water might be the only way to possibly control a high pressure water source, above ground, in ancient times. This is actually an extremely difficult task even today - just look at the Deepwater Horizon oil spill where they could not close an open and flowing oil well, and you can see what I'm talking about. By building a pyramid layer by layer around an already flowing water source, the resulting water column will gradually exert more and more hydrostatic pressure until the pressure and flow reach zero. At some point, the water source simply doesn't have enough pressure to lift the water any higher. Such a tall water column would've exerted a hell of a lot of horisontal forces to contain though, which is where the pyramid shape comes in. A pyramid is the strongest and most stable construction if you want to build something tall. Technically, a cone is better, but a square shape is much easier to build. It wouldn't be wrong to think of the pyramids as extremely small four-sided dams - gravity masonry dams made from stone or brick to be more precise, which use weight and friction alone to counteract the pressure and forces of trapped water. The Nagarjuna Sagar Dam in India and the Theodore Roosevelt Dam are proof-of-concepts, demonstrating that it is possible. I even made a video explaining it and posted it on this youtube account. To my surprise, I think I actually manage to also plausibly explain the internal features in the great pyramid, as simple mechanisms needed for the pyramid to act as a water valve. It would also greatly assist in their construction of course, as free potential energy. Anyway.. it ended up being quite the fun journey, so thanks for inspiring me. I hope you get around to making more pyramid videos.

I believe that the ventilation for workers is not a bad hypothesis. Workers on the pyramid in ancient Egypt were not slaves as is commonly taught they were respected members of the society and even were allowed to be buried next to the pyramids which common folk were not. With so many of them working underground I think it would have been only possible to work with ventilation otherwise death from heat stroke would have occurred. As with that one section with the sweaty guy shows just existing down there is enough to get someone to sweat let alone 30+ builders working at once. Even use of the ventilation shafts as cooling for when the pharaoh would have inspected could be the case or for when the funeral procession took place the leaders of the society didn’t want to be cooked for what could be days of preparation (idk how Egyptian pharaoh tombing went).

But hardly anyone is actually working underground as it's built layer by layer, but maybe necessary if there is internal decoration and ornaments to be laid in afterwards and those were probably higher class workers/priests.

This was a really interesting video. Previously I was convinced they were pointing at the stars but that was because I thought the channels were straight. Didn't know they turned until I saw this. Now I think ventilation is the most plausible cause. But then the question arises why they needed ventilation? I subscribed to History for granite and are really looking forward to his next video!

1:52:40 keep in mind, they’re not digging these tunnels. They’re placing blocks, layer by layer, with grooves cut out of the rock to eventually slot into a tunnel. There’s a hundred reasons why it might be easier to not make the path straight. The nature of the rock, the joints in the path, the other construction going around on the current layer. No one cares about the inner parts of the tunnel, so the workers did whatever was most convenient.

My actual guess is still air vents, but they were built for burial ceremony and the one inheriting the throne should ofc have fresh air and not sweat in there when it is being held. Which could also explain the reason for the queens chamber vents not going to the complete edge as she may have passed away before it got finished :D This is just a wild guess as I don't know much of anything about this P:

I dont know if it was "king to the stars" but I think its possible that the Pharaoh/religious advisor said "we need a passage to the sky" without a specific direction/target in mind. I think though its way more likely they were just used for air tho. For why the tunnels turn, I learn toward the pyramid being rebuilt upon (the queens tumb tunnels seem way too long to be a trick and those trap doors are weird). Ie dunno howx exactly the stones were made but I imagine you would cut the air passage before placement and lining those up and aiming those cant have been easy. It could have been chocked up to "good enough for whats hidden". It could have been intentional, maybe there were concerns of sand or the sunlight heating up the tomb. I do look forward to more on this and I appreciate the channel recommendation.

I think the items were most probably dropped. The other channels were already open, probably people already took them away. But you have to imagine that if you go back to that time in your mind - it's a VERY busy construction site. And you are threatened with death for errors. So, would you tell anyone that you dropped a little piece of wood down there from transport or for aid for some small thing? Or a ball that helped to move some heavy stone blocks around? Or the hooks to open one of these panels that were continously moved during the construction to keep the channels unobstructed? I can see all the three occasions very clearly, where something like this would have happened. And the lost items were not told to anyone, and even then, the wall wouldn't be opened ahead of schedule. These are actually very connective artefacts to me. I can imagine the feel, the environment and the situation of the worker that did this. And also how they felt. Now that we know the complete story, with the panels being moved to construct them especially, those meaningless artifacts suddenly gain meaning and purpose and show us, how it was like when the pyramids were built.

Maybe the channels were built bendy to prevent things being dropped down into the chamber whilst allowing ventilation (or also to prevent light from reaching the chamber). Or maybe they were bendy to avoid other structures in the pyramid, just like how our plumbing bends to navigate around houses.

Just from first impressions,I wonder if SP Big Void is structural in nature. Like, say you have your Grand Gallery but you build it with the purpose of people walking through rather than supporting tons and tons of rock above it, perhaps the builders created a fake ceiling and then placed the structural supports to make sure the Gallery didn't cave in above them.

my thought is that the air is for the people who come to visit the pharohs grave. Like he said in the video, slaves were not givin the privalege of air condition, but other Pharaohs and important priests who come to the grave will. So they put in the air condition so that later Pharaohs and other people dont suffer while like praying and stuff at the grave of the pharaoh. If i remember correctly the pyramid wasnt seeled straight away after they put the mummy in there. So like maybe for a death ritual in the pyramid were royalty came they needed to be the inside of the chambers as comfortable as possible.

Ventilation for the Pharaohs body so it wouldn't get damaged by moisture? Queens chamber just being a false or early building if the Pharaoh died early. It would explain why the vents doesn't go to the outside, they probably started serious work on the main chamber and simply stopped work on the backup chamber, leading them to block it up and build over it.

Gotta say i'm suprised at the simplified thought process of these people... Them 'air vents' instantly made me think about what light source was available....no gas lanterns, they where burning oil soaked fabrics....you learn pretty quick what that does in inclosed spaces with no airflow. It seems obvious to me that they where created to allow work to be done (with light) and not have your workers die of co2 poisoning or w/e

The queen’s chamber shafts being unfinished and plugged when discovered actually makes a lot of sense now. They decided to abandon the queen’s chamber, built over the ends of the shafts as they continued building, and never unplugged the openings in the chamber since the chamber was never finished or used. I’m going to assume they needed air flow for some burial ceremony (potentially involving fire so they needed lots of oxygen) or even just to allow the important rich folks who were in charge of the burial to have fresh air, hence the King’s chamber’s shafts being exposed and unplugged. Also, the slab with the copper handles could very well be a temporary plug to stop rain and debris as it was described and when they built over the shaft after abandoning the queen’s chamber the workers on that side of the pyramid just left the slab in for whatever reason.
@RowOfMushyTiT
@RowOfMushyTiT 3 ай бұрын
It's probably that they planned a smaller pyramid where the queens chamber was in the middle and the shafts did reach the exterior, then they upscaled the design. So they had to add the grand gallery to haul blocks up and which blocks the queens chamber. I don't think they were even trying to hide it from robbers, but rather hide it as an imperfection.
@Tyler412324
@Tyler412324 4 ай бұрын
I assume what he is getting at is that the chambers were constructed in the same way that the outside of the pyramid was constructed. Nicest stones are placed where they are most visible. So basically the Queens chamber was built first by leaving a larger empty space in the pyramid, then to finish of the interior and make it look all pretty, they put nice finishing stones on the interior walls and once the pretty walls were in place they would have cut holes where the airways were to finalize the room. thats also why they wanted to square off the ends of the hole so it looked nicer. As for what the airways are for, i think its to let the body of Pharaoh to dry up instead of turning into a gooey mess due to high humidity and heat.
@Nitidus
@Nitidus 4 ай бұрын
From how I understand it, the humidity we saw in those chambers in the past came solely from tourist's perspiration. Also I don't know how much a bit of humidity would have affected a pharaoh who's lying in his sealed sarcophagus, embalmed.

I also think the off centerness of the chamber helps with airflow by creating a difference in pressure between the sides cause the air to flow in one side and out the other

at this point why do we not try to build a Pyramid maybe if we are in the process of making it we will understand more stuff. And when we finish it we think like "Well of course the shafts must be for *THAT* purpose why did we not think about it

I think the pharaoh believed he would far outlive the construction of the pyramids and wanted to go inside the chambers. Maybe he included the air channels purely for his own comfort in the time leading up to his death. I dont think its crazy to believe a pharaoh would include such a massive detail for a "just incase i want to go in there it cant be hot and muggy". The queens chamber and channels might have been left unfinished if she died during construction. They could have buried her and sealed the chamber in a rush if that were the case. At that point, they would have just left the blocks with the copper pins in the channels where they were, as there would be no point to continue the air channels. That might explain why the finishing touches had been started, but strangely not finished. The one outside corner on the wall of the chamber, and, only the first few cm of the air channel opening.
