This is the first in a series of Wisconsin Central videos dating from 1998 until the CN takeover in 2001.
- FDSTP at Van Dyne
- chase of #119 at Shops West and somewhere between there and Van Dyne
- #48 with Conrail power at Byron meeting IHBFD
- CP (SOO) and WC at Duplainville diamond
- #48 on a different day at Burlington

Wow, SDL39 and F40 together?? There is something you will never see again!

I sure miss seeing the WC, I remember as a kid I would run to the living room bay window to see what train is coming, whether it was a freight, intermodal, or a Union Pacific coal.

I think they were leased. NS used some around the same time as well.

I remember the Amtrak units. The WC was considering buying them seeing how well maintained they were to compliment the F45's. But the conversion to the correct traction motors and installation of a front walk way made it not economical to purchase. That being said, now a day kids would say something to the affect that this was when the government was kicking around the idea of taking over the WC and a possible merger into Conrail.
