Welcome to the first part of the suspension upgrade on my 94' Dodge diesel. I try to explain parallel 4 link suspension the best I know how. I know that I forgot to mention many details and hope I can answer them in the upcoming video where we finish the suspension, so leave your comments/questions below. Thanks for watching!!

You achieved a top professional, accurate strong masterpiece, using scape pieces of metal . That’s a perfect, distinctive, cost efficient assignment. Thanks. Always

With your diff angle explanation I love that you explained it but for people who don’t get it I think you kinda over complicated it but I appreciate people like you making videos for people like us that want to do stuff like this so we can learn from others mistakes before we go in blind, thank you

Received the same Nfab 4 link kit a few days ago, your video inspires me tackle the job myself--well at least most of it. My welding skills are not good. I will follow your example of adding a reinforcement plate to the frame. I like the idea. Thank you.

One thing that all suspension upgrades skip is what is the design intent? like in this case are you looking for more articulation in the rear for uneven terrain? are you trying to better the ride? Are you trying to maintain rear dead load weight or improve it? How does this modification help you meet your design needs?

Very cool and simple.... I have an '09 2500 short bed ram that I want to do this too but push the axle back as far as I can in the process to basically give it the wheelbase of a long bed then build a flatbed to fit.... Will look like a bobbed long bed kinda like you did on one of your rig bed builds
@j_moffitt
@j_moffitt 10 ай бұрын
Plan to do the same on my other truck eventually, it’s a short bed now, push the axle back to make it a long bed.

@@j_moffitt I have a repo lift/tow bar set up on it and pushing the axle back will help with towing and can move the gooseneck ball back and keep trailers away from the cab ! Plus will ride better on air so it'll be a win win win 👍👍

I think the panhard bar frame mount would better serve mounted inside the frame rail, so there is more room for air bags or coilovers, which ever is used. Also would have left the bar as long as possible for a smoother action. But what you did looks good 👍

Your videos are great. Nice to see someone doing it like most people do rather than in a million dollar shop. Do you think this would be ok in a dual Lu 1 ton pulling backhoes and dozers around. Not sure the link and tubing is big enough.
@j_moffitt
@j_moffitt 10 ай бұрын
If it is being used consistently to pull heavily, i would upsize the setup. Although I have used this setup for heavy loads, the added piece of mind is always nice. “There’s no kill like overkill”
@earlwest6005
@earlwest6005 Ай бұрын
Jesse, i think you should have placed the panhard bar mount on the axle more standing up so the bar would be more horizontal, or parallel to the axle tube.

Why would you shorten the pan hard bar instead of using the full length of it . Shorter bars create more side to side movement .

Your better off having ya adjustable ends control arms at the on the chassis end with antiseize on your threads , unsprung weight and damaging threads . And why aren't you running a longer panard rod , it's more beneficial ?
@j_moffitt
@j_moffitt 10 ай бұрын
Have to agree to disagree on the thread placement. Longest length panhard you can achieve on a project is always good, I did what I did because I already used that setup before so all I had to do was click “cut”.
