I agree. I still like to go and see his band. His second player now Abrahms, is killer. He has a wonderful tone too. Very classy. Martin's band is better as it has Martin and his guitarists (Misha and Danny) are brilliant and can really sing too. So the vocals are top notch. He has a new drummer who knows the parts. Tim Brown was with Martin before and really had that Steve Upton "Crispness" to him. Andy's drummer, Crabtree is too stiff, no swing. It is palpable in the songs. I too play and Upton is my nearly #1 influence along with Billy Cobham. Love Upton. His snare kills. Bruford like.Cheers Mate! @@martinpowell5769

Saw this band in various universities, colleges, etc and on many a support act too at festivals. Still have Live Dates (Volumes I & II), Argus and others on vinyl. To me Ted, Martin, Andy and Steve were the band but whenever I hear and see Laurie Wisefield play Phoenix as he does in this performance then I just have to take my hat off to him. Always preferred the harmonies of voice (with Ted and Martin Turner) but gotta say Laurie (sorry Ted) does play a mean guitar. Have seen Andy Powell's version of Wishbone Ash since the 'great divide/split' a couple of times but never quite felt it did justice to the original line up. I missed a chance to see Martin's version since I was given a spare ticket to a beer festival. I still play Argus all the way through, in track order, except now it's via KZfaq (with eyes closed and really listening why do you need a video?) - OK so I'm a child of the very late '50s :) TY for posting. Last time I was at Finsbury Park (Marquee), twas a support act called Chas and Dave supporting some bloke called Eric Clapton!

@@mozartsmate6358 And there is the difference. Martin's band only has old WA tracks to play over and over again in the small venues throughout the UK. Andy and his WA crew have grown, made new songs and still provide great entertainment to WA fans in many countries. Yes he still plays some of the staple WA songs mixed in with the new songs. Some of which are very good and some a bit blah but at least they try to stay modern instead of trying to re-live the early 70's day after day.

Great guitarist though Laurie Wiseman is, I still prefer the original line-up with Ted Turner. He was a much more melodic player which contrasted with the more aggressive style of Andy Powell. Fair enough Joe, I was being a bit mean to you, my apologies. On the other hand, you are dead right about Ted Turner, one of the greats. I first saw Wishbone Ash in 1970 and I was absolutely mesmerised by them, they were fantastic. I know you said you had lost interest, but if you ever get the chance to see Martin Turners band I can highly recommend them. I saw them last week in a small theatre and it was a great night. They are very true to the original Wishbone sound. They also have a couple of DVDs out.

No worries. I have listened to some of the music of the later iterations of the band but still prefer the original lineup. Ted Turner had a much more lyrical and bluesy feel which contrasted well with Andy Powell's more aggressive rock approach. Sadly, I probably won't get the chance to catch Martin Turner's version of the band as I now live in Spain and haven't been back to the UK since the start of Covid.
