One year with our Tesla Model Y trough Europe - Episode 1 #tesla #europe #travel
In this video we show you our experiences of our journey from Switzerland to Sicily and how it worked with the charging.
We have quit our jobs and are traveling through Europe and our home country Switzerland for more than a year as a family of three.
And this 100% electric with our Tesla Model Y.
We love to di road trips with our Tesla and we also sleep in the Tesla too. So we are super flexible and can stay in the most beautiful places.
Our first destination is Sicily. We want to circle the island once completely.
Traveling with a Tesla is very easy. When we enter our destination in our navigation system,
the Tesla itself calculates the charging stops at the Tesla Superchargers and the required charging time and includes these in the route.
In our case, 4 stops to the ferry port to Sicily are planned.
Tesla charging in Sicily can be so easy and TeslaY road trips are a lot of fun.

We lived in Naples Italy for 7 years while I was stationed with the USAF at NSA Naples. We loved it. Married there and our children were born there. Ciao

the Supercharger are often placed in the middle of nowhere. Sometimes not really safe places. Especially if you are alone there.

Hi. I have a question for you guys. How do you understand parking in different countries? Do you just research before. I'd love to drive to Napoli but my first thought is it'll be difficult to park. Or maybe I have big city bias?

Every country has different parking rules. We inform ourselves in advance or simply ask people there how parking works. In Italian cities there is often a lack of parking spaces and there is usually a "Zone traffico limitato, ZTL". This means only locals are allowed to drive into this zone.... Maybe it's best to inform yourself about parking garages in Napoli in advance. Since we also visited Pompeii, we left the Tesla there and just took the train to Napoli citycenter. And don't miss a real neapolitan Pizza Margherita Bufalina!

Many of those SUPERCHARGER locales are in terrible places. No lights, no facilities, at the back of somewhere, this is why many single women do not want to road trip at night in an EV. These places are not safe or comforting. The SCs should be at large well lit 24/7 Motorway services. Hell, I am a dude of 59 years and I don't like the idea of going to charge there on a road trip at night.

From Ceprano to Morano Calabro with no charging stop? 🤔 I did the same route on my M3LR and had to stop in between, SuC San Severino.

From Ceprano to Morano Calabro are around 350km distance. Our Tesla Y has a range of 533km. It’s not just possible, but very easy without a charging stop between.

Don’t remember exactly. We were fully charged when we started. @home we pay less than at supercharger. But it was around 110€ from Zurich to Sicily for the charging.
