Back in 2013, a boy named Emmerson watched this documentary and decided he wanted to do something about it. He went on to start a business in Ghana, West Africa that employed people who had come from slavery and give them real jobs. The business is called LlewellynClothing and it uses beautiful Ghana prints on western designs. 100% of the business proceeds go towards the employees.

As long as there is debt and profit to be made, slavery will continue. Until we learn to eliminate these ideas (ie money), we will only be putting a band-aid on a gaping wound. I believe a good transition would be to eliminate debt first and free the people. Then, we can tackle our concept of profit and phase out our modern money mechanics.

Breaks my heart, deeply and painfully! We as people have sold our souls for money. When will we stand up for humanity? When will we wake up? The only difference between people is their mentality. If I had one wish it would only and always be, that we as humans all live equally.

Thank you Lisa for so eloquently educating us on the horrifying existence of slavery in the world. Slavery is an embarrassment to humankind and should have never existed. How can we continue to use the word "Humane" when describing our species-this is barbaric! Thank you Lisa for devoting your time, your money and artistic prowess to inspire others to be the change...

The Ethical Vegans of today are not just anyone, most Ethical Ones are also Vegans that little by little we are becoming minimalists, and we see that if we stop spending our money on any products that are inhumane, polute the earth, cause us illnesses, or continue to creat imbalances, and perpetuate war, violence, hate, slavery, and any injustices, we can save the world. What is not Love or Compassion, is hate or harmful and causes much negative karma and suffering. ~ Namaste ~

Being from Nepal, it's just a lack of opportunities and jobs. That made people choose a brick kilnk. But mostly its temporary work. Labeling it as heinous crime of forced slavery is bit overstatement. And yeah you can help them, just build a self sustaining industry, a factory perhaps and employ them, and see. I hope your melodramatic exaggeration gathered funding and helped these people, not just providing way off theatrics.

Shift Local Easily! Just ask the owners of the CENTRAL BANK of the USA (The "Federal" Reserve) and the people who feed it and give it virtually unlimited power over the country. Let me know when you realize what that actually means. (Since we were born into this form of slavery, I will advise you take some time to research before you answer.)

who profit from this? big corporations industry and terror organization industry. why this issue haven't fix yet? because there's no profit from saving these miserable souls, in fact, the more chaotic and more slaves are better for exploiting, commercialize, and more profit. Don't even think about country's like "USA" "China" "Russia" will going to help this, they all benefit from slavery and the world economy and company profits demands slavery even more now and then. More funny thing, some media (news) believe there's no such a thing call "Modern Slavery", and its all a "Scam", now, if you still somehow manage to calm down and read until this part, congrats, no one will ever do anything to help this situation, you think those non-profit humanitarian organization are going to help? they are part of this whole human society corruption, they are rotten to the core, and they don't even have enough money to send to their government and spend it, how they even going to save these people. Anyway, forget about these slavery thing, they are dead meat already.

This is not a solvable issue that only America is responsible to combat. This is an annual 32 billion dollar global industry. There are people being trafficked in and out of everywhere. Let's not forget about sex tourism; people from various countries going to other countries such as Thailand, Cambodia, etc. with the means of having intercourse with small children, etc. Human trafficking is global epidemic. No one is excluded from being the victims of it and nor is it the cause of any one particular nation, gender, ethnicity, etc.

I know some people are a bit cynical to the idea that there are good people who are out there, and who are willing to help. But believe it or no, the truth of the matter is...there are good people out there. There are many organizations in the US dedicated to battling HT. ICE (Immigration & Customs Enforcement division of the FBI), Polaris Project (developed by CNN), and Love146 (non-profit international human rights organization); these are all part of the same battle.

beautiful photographs. This illustrates for me, the futility of it all. I live on the "bright side of the moon" so to speak. As a whole we steal and plunder the poorer nations so that we can wear beautiful clothes , have precious gems and cheap consumer goods ect.. the balancem however is shifting, global predictions show that India Africa and China are growing in power in the terms of global trade, intercommunications and money lending. And we all know the population is going to keep growing.. In a few generations we are going to be the minion class, just watch..

You speak of freewill from a provided place meaning you and I aren't in sex trafficking of modern day slavery, we benefit from it. Tell the kettle girl who is being sex trafficked that the reason she is in that trade is because it's her freewill then tell her their is a God.

@carrprod
@carrprod 10 жыл бұрын
God is still God. He's given us His word which includes the examples and sacrifice of his son Jesus Christ. He also gave us "FREE WILL". We can choose right or wrong, which not only affects our own lives, but people around us. God has also empowered us to be advocates and help those who are hurting. What were you put on the earth for? Let's do something about this!!!!

***** To say God is still God isn't doing anything for those who are not suffering at that moment, to say there is free will that is simply a is a philosophical way to explain evil. Not something that is in the Bible!!!! My question is why didn't God stop the suffering???

***** You speak of freewill from a privileged place meaning you and I aren't in sex trafficking of modern day slavery, we benefit from it. Tell the little girl who is being sex trafficked that the reason she is in that trade is because it's her "free will" then tell her there is a God who is able to stop the suffering but it is your "free-will" that is stopping God from doing anything! Do you see how stupid that justification is, imagine yourself in that position and someone comes along and says your free will is stopping God!
