This is probably one of my fave WITWICS eps; what can I say other than this is one entertaining ep and show. :D Hard to believe this ep was made as the internet was taking off. :D

Actually, the Internet was invented long before either of us were even born. It wasn't officially accessible to the general public yet. It was developed back in the late-1960's, & the only people who had access to it were people who worked in either the Dep't Of Defense, top-notch universities, or in the space program. For the Defense Dep't, they've established the Internet to supply them w/ pertinent info for protecting the USA from nuclear war -- even though we never actually had that.

Not a bad idea, but I think Levar Burton (host of Reading Rainbow) is a better bet. Greg said in a podcast that he is somewhat dyslexic, so he would have quite a bit of trouble reading each clue, and more importantly, keeping up the pace.

Basically, back then when you modem, it is basically a PC phoning another PC. It is what today is known nowadays as peer-to-peer communications. Same thing here.
