Even Roger Federer would be proud of this Wimbledon / Grass court performance!
Carlos Alcaraz, this kid has it all to become the next GOAT!
The 21 year old already has 3 time grand slam titles to his name beating Jannik Sinner to win the US OPEN title & Novak Djokovic twice in the Wimbledon final (2024 & 2023)
Let's have a look at one of his most insane tournaments so far. His first ever grass court title.
Shots if were not filmed, nobody would believe them!

I'm a stripling at a mere 55, but likewise - I've been joking that he's the secret lovechild of Federer and Nadal. It's the first time I've ever seen the complete package in one player.

It's enormously tiresome to listen, even for a short while, to a non-native English speaker as it is the case with this bloke; his pronunciation, intonation and pitch are just pathetic to say the least. He should stop making video clips in English, no objection of course if he makes them in his native lingo, whatever the latter might be.

There is something magical about Carlos playing on grass. On hard court, he shines thanks to his incredible speed and athleticism, on clay, he destroys opponents due to his raw power and endurance. But on grass, his amazing skill, masterful shot selection and technical perfection really stands out. Who would have said few years back that grass would be his royal surface.

One of the greatest on grass, game tailor made for this surface
@Mark-ut5oq
@Mark-ut5oq Ай бұрын
Alcatraz’ game is actually tailor made for all surfaces, but clay more than others. A lot of top spin and tremendous groundstroke power, countless drop shots, and insane speed. All best suited for clay. However he doesn’t have any surface weakness. At this point, medium and fast hard courts are his weakest surfaces like many Spaniards. Alcatraz is truly almost a combination of the big 3. Young Nadal’s speed, Federer’s shotmaking and Djokovic’s flexibility/defensive skill. Honestly, if you are objective and compare his game to the big 3 at the same age, it’s not close. Nadal is better on clay but that’s it. Alcatraz’ is by far the most imposing at that age, ever. Although, chances are he will not have a career anything like the big 3. Alcatraz’ game is dependent on an extremely high PEAK. Not an high floor, unlike Djokovic, Nadal and to some extent Federer. This means he’s mercurial, and once he loses his speed and/or power, his results will fall into the tank.

@@Mark-ut5oqYes agree bro. Let's see how long he can maintain his peak. Some reach that in early age...some a bit late.
@chufeng9425
@chufeng9425 Ай бұрын
@@Mark-ut5oq i think you haven't seen his game enough to know the fact that on clay he is often confused when to play attacking and when to play defensive and the net game which is his strength isn't that effective on clay whereas on Grass his 1-2 punch game and offensive strengths are suited hence Wimbledon being his best grandslam till date and i see him winning it many times in the future, the speed factor applies more so on clay🤷‍♂️

Alcaraz has that natural touch that only the very few players have and together with his tennis IQ, knowing how and when to play a shot, the awarness of his opponent, wow!!! Alcaraz, right now, reminds me of young Roger Federer, plus with the hype around how he plays the game. It's like living through that Roger era but it's Carlos era. I'm so happy.

I think the most unique shot of Carlos that I never saw in other players, is that little flick forehand that he does when he is caught out of position, in 6:58, we saw that against Djokovic in the first game of 2024 wimbledon Final. He manages to flick that forehand with so much power even if he is out of position, scary stuff.

I don't think most people realize how much racket-head speed he produces. Those winners that come out of nowhere, especially on no-pace balls, where he flattens it out, still probably have 2500 RPMs of juice. He has a margin of error even when he takes maximum risk. He's unbelievable to watch.

You should include the FINAL at Indian Wells 2024 against Meddy. Alcaraz ran and slid to save a drop shot, Jumped up to retrieve a lob shot but couldn't, so he sprinted to save it, then shot the ball past Meddy to the baseline This got him a standing ovation and left Meddy speechless. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/idx1YNOazK6ZnYk.html
