I'm not an expert on Wizard101, but I can give an input from the Pirate101 perspective. It depends on what class the wizard fought, and whether or not the pirate's companions are present, the scenarios I'll envision are without companions. Wizards would likely have a dramatic advantage over musketeers and witchdoctors because these two are also ranged-based , so the wizard would easily defeat them with very powerful spells from their aresel just by standing in place (musketeer traps would be useless against wizards since they wouldn't move, and it's unlikely that a wizard would be dumb enough to move into a range where the musketeer can shoot them, so the musketeer would be the easiest to deal with). I have a feeling that if the wizard faced a melee-based class like a swashbuckler, buccaneer or privateer, they'd have to improvise and avoid melee as much as possible. The swashbuckler would have a higher chance of defeating the wizard than anyone else since they can make themselves invulnerable to damage with walk in shadows and charge directly at the wizard without being defeated first, that is unless the wizard is smart enough to defeat the swashbuckler from a distance.

I also think it would be cool to fight a character unique to wizard in pirate. like maybe we confront Malistare or something. Our pirates are definitely no match for Malistare (even the level 50 version) but maybe we get to fight him for a few rounds to weaken him or we have a Wizard help us like Merle Ambrose or one of the teachers.

Pet Mez also this quest lead to our pirate beginning so it could probably advance the story quite nicely for said pirate

I hope that when Pirate gets greenlight on steam, it will get revived. Honestly, a lot of both games failures are due to kingsisle's lack of good advertisement campaigns.

The truth is often painful even if we don't like it. I enjoy both games, but it's so true that kingsIsle could do a better job marketing their game and what they are doing with steam is a step in the right direction.

True, but no PvP. PvP is honestly what makes both games worth playing in the end when it comes down to brass tacks. He has done some Wizard PvP, but no Pirate stuff yet.

Well, PVP in Pirate works differently than in Wiz. Battlefields are Larger and buffs are more or less auras than Blades. I don't think he'd get into the PVP stuff, nor the Pet Vs Pet stuff. PVP in Pirate I think you get ONE Companion, and that's not a lot considering who you have to choose. Bonnie's Great, El Toro, Sarah Steele... it just depends on play style. 1) Witchdoctors are squishy and not physically defensive; and really their power comes from the Spooky Trait. (Which I inadvertently made a PERFECT Witchdoctor (Krok heritage with Presidio Partner being Lucky Jack Russel) on my own account, before heritage meant natural boosts). Old Scratch helps with that, but he's very weak due to his lack of defense. A Buccanneer with the Charge Moves can get right in and slaughter Witchdoctors AND Lower their accuracy on Scratch. (Especially with the Hiding Talents from Swash) 2) Swashbucklers are super deadly and can move fast, and they can jump over obstacles, but they have very low health due to their power. Though, they ARE very dodgy. Swashes might have a heck of a lot easier times in the PVP Aspect against other Pirates, and that alone is just boring. Who wants to have an easy fight in Pirate?

Wizard101 does indeed work very differently than Wiz, but those differences can be actually good. Witchdoctors are not at that much of a disadvantage if they are played by people that know the game mechanics well and they are especially op in 3v3 and 4v4. I am a Pirate and Wizard pvp god, and I play as a team of 4 in both games all by myself. That means I play all 4 pirates or wizards on my team. Pirate101 is also more of an ability based game as apposed to stat based game and thank goodness their is no reshuffle ability like their is in wiz. There are also more ways to stall when you don't get the right cards in Pirate than Wiz for players that know what they are doing. Pet's are also less of a must and you can be more unique with your gear and you don't have to farm for a completely different set every time their is an update. Wizard101 also has some good things going for it as well. I can actually only thing of 2 things tbh. They have more people, and they have rank 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, and tournaments. I doubt KingsIsle would be able to completely rework Wizard101, but Pirate101 would be able to use all the good stuff in Wizard101 very easily, so in that way Wizard101 is better. As for witchdoctors, I am willing to challenge any buckler who reads this to a match, and I 19 out of 20 I will win in a best out of 3 matchup without even using scratch. If playing swashbuckler is easier for you, then you probably were fighting other Wizard101 players. Well, I cant say that exactly, lolz. Since I also enjoy playing Wizard101 quite a bit myself, but I mean the majority of Wizard101 players suck at Pirate101 PvP and are even worse at Witchdoctor.

Wizard 101 was before because in a mooshu puppet show it shows malistare trying to get a key from the mooshu emperor and the narrator says it was a while ago
