"Wizball" title music, Atari ST

11 жыл бұрынIf you only play one version of Wizball..... make sure it isn't this one. The Atari version is such a disappointment compared to even the Speccy version it's almost a tragedy. Its one saving grace is the title music (credited to Dave Rogers on some sites, but Dave says it's not one of his - see the comments below), which is very hummable. I guess the graphics are pretty nice too. Anyway... play the C64 version. Really. But listen to this too.

I fucking love this game on atari st. It may be buggy but if you do it right its a brilliant game to complete. The music is just amazing. Thanks for sharing.

This probably sounds weird coming from a stranger, but you're a legend, dude! The ST versions of Ranarama + Zynaps had the coolest music I ever heard on the system, & I still find myself sticking them on & playing them to people. Just an IMPECCABLE ear for a tune.

I have no idea why you would say this isn't a good version. It always seemed fine to me. Anyway, good game, & good music.

It is noticeably more difficult than the C-64 version. The colours come as big 'worms' which are somewhat annoying to gather compared to 8-bit versions. Amiga version is identical except sounds.

@@terhazza So, I just checked out the C-64 version, & then reminded myself of the Atari ST version by watching gameplay videos of each to make a comparison. It seems that the Atari ST ver has crisper graphics, more colour, better sound, & more enemy variation. Yes, you're right that the C-64 ver doesn't look as difficult, but I do remember that as a child I was able to stay alive for hours on the Atari, so I wouldn't say it's too difficult. But fair enough, if different people prefer different versions, that's great. I'm sure all versions were good to play😁😄

This is interesting, but to my ears, nothing like the wonder that is the C64 version! The C64 music is just transcendental!

i liked playing the st version, but apparently they made a bug during conversion so you couldn't complete the game.

I remember when I played this game on atari ST and never beat it. Many years later, I played it on an Atari ST emulator, and beat it. Don't know if it was fixed but I remeber clearly that I managed to complete the game.

It *is* possible to beat it, but you have to do the last steps in a particular sequence or you're screwed. I learned this the hard way.

My brother and I completed it on the ST so it could be done. He was the wizard and I was the little cat :)
