I recently sat down and emulated all of these classic games since I've never played them, dang I really missed out. These games are absolute fire, My personal favorite is SVR '06 but I can't deny that SVR '07 is pretty fire as well.

You can irgnore rope break in WWE2K24 too. You have to turn off automatic Rope Break in the Menu

07 is my favorite wrestling game. The story mode was long could go on forever. The commentary would never get old. And the soundtrack was peek

SvR07 was one of the best games i grew up playing on the psp. The story lines, plus so much more made you want to keep playing the game. I have it on PC & it runs smooth on the emulator!😆

Not being able to do Diving finisher from the ladder or chamber pod is the worst. I used to finish my chamber matches that way in 2k16

Exactly why I still play all the old wrestling games till this day, I brought 2k24 this year but it’ll be my last 2k game I purchased. The older games are just a lot more fun than the new ones.

To be fair, SvR really was leaning into trying to make playing on Raw branded or SmackDown branded arenas feel unique, meanwhile now the games are just celebrations of the WWE as a whole.

It’s crazy the things you could do in some of those games and can’t do now, really wish they would have a season mode where you can play as your favorite wrestler and not a caw

Well in regards to the last one didn’t they actually stop the real title from being able to spin at some point? Like it always kept the W in the upright position, but would be cool if it allowed the game to still be able to spin definitely something I did a lot on the ps2

The whole cool factor of the spinner belt was that it could spin. If you can't do that then change the title look, it's just not worth pretending to be cool when it can't do the thing that makes it cool.

I've play SD here comes the pain before I know SVR. It's indeed SVR have better graphic, much more. But, I'd prefer the game motion speed in here comes the pain instead.

I wondered if these newer games could actually do half the things I remember were possible back in the day. And I'm not surprised that they can't. They focused on graphics. But hair of triple h still looks laughable. Still looks cartoony. And the gameplay is worse on top of it. Pretty much across the board. On the other hand you could literally just upscale svr, improve lighting a bit, and voilà. Plus these newer games are like 150gigs, while the old ones are like 4 gigs max. All svr games combined don't make even near 150gb. So it's more practical on basically every level. If you want to have fun, the choice is clear. Not only were the og games fun, and packed with content. They also didn't constantly try to sell you some crap. Modern games not are only lacking everything, they're charging for things that you used to get by default back then. And even if you buy it all, you still don't have the same depth that you used to back then. It really is wild how gaming industry turned to dookie.

I miss the cinematic finishers. Seeing the rock do a peoples elbow in the 2k series is awful. They should include an option to have arcade style or sim style

Older games are Way better than the new ones period

Personally I don't miss intergender matches. I never really played them. Also the wrestlers not moving on the matchup screen makes sense, WWE stopped doing that. I don't miss Buried Alive match, Casket pretty much fills that spot for me. Not using wrestlers in MyRise is fine with me, but I do wish the superstar variant of Universe mode was more fleshed out. And the spinner belt stopped spinning over a decade ago.

Dragging superstars was way better in this game and a lot of the older ones plus blood looks way better

The WWE Belt stopped spinning after a few years so it would make sense for it to not spin depending on what version of the belt it is

Wwe 2k really needs to ditch the whole copy and paste and PG crap and step up instead of just throwing in patches and just have the same stuff every year at least yukes and thq wwe games were badass and just too good to play even in 2024 wwe 2k will never beat the good old SVR games that's for sure
