Thanks for this, guys! When you do your next video on this thread, please include your guesstimates on costs. As we out here are looking at 1980s boats, it's good to know that the non-working head has a price range, marine AC has a price range depending on BTUs, redoing a deck surface, bottom painting, a water maker...stuff like that. Understanding that YOUR prices are the Keys or South Florida (which are ridiculously over-inflated), it would be beneficial to have a rough idea of costs in mind as we're doing walk-throughs. Also, nearly every boat that's in budget has original, old electronics. Most all of them work fine, they're just antiquated. Is that necessarily bad? If we need a new autopilot or depth sounder or whatever, please give us a range on what we can expect. Thank you, gentlemen!

Now that you have that high end AC I tour would be wonderful. I am just joking, I think that window unit keeps Southern Estate nice and cool. You answered a question I had about a boat I saw on yacht Trader or a broker site. It was not old, but had a lot of rust in the engine room. That always stuck me as strange for a newer boat.

If you spy a waterline. Say rusty from the floorboards down and vert-grease on the wire connections it’s a sign it’s had a flooded bilge. If things are rusty it may have had a broken pipe squirting water around or condensation from lack of use.

When you look at a AC unit check the kiind of refrigerant. If the unit has R22 it’s old and will need replaced because you can’t get refrigerant. Now days unit takes 410a

They still make R22. But, it's very rare, and very expensive. So, a retrofit unit would still be best.

Depends I use Marine Air but there are better units but price per BTU they are the best for me

Would you buy a trawler that was in fantastic condition all except one blown 3208 engine (cracked block) and fuel tanks need replacing? Currently looking at an OA 55Mk1 1979 in just this condition.
