I recall that the show got cancelled in the first season. But CBS brought it back. Alan King mentioned that during one of his sketches about TV schedules. He picked up the show's nameplate off the floor. Gary Sandy had previously done soap operas and All That Glitters. I'm also in Team Bailey. Someone posted photos of Jan in different attire. It was usually Loni who wore pantyhose and dresses on the show. A few folks have confused Jan with Marcia Strassman (RIP), who appeared on MASH and Welcome Back, Kotter. Stroker Ace was a bad movie. I could have done without hearing Burt Reynolds and Jim Nabors cuss. Those scenes got looped for broadcast TV. After the divorce, SNL did a sketch regarding Burt's challenge for Loni to drink truth serum. Howard Hessman previously did an episode of Dragnet. He got credited under a different name. Tim Reid also did Frank's Place, set in New Orleans. Gordon Jump replaced Jesse White as the Maytag repairman. One very different role was as a pedophile on Different Strokes. You could do a video on such castings against type. Ditto for Very Special Episodes. Did anyone see the revised series? Gordon, Frank, and Richard reprised their roles. Howard and Loni made guest appearances. I heard Bailey became a mayor but didn't appear on the show. Music rights caused some issues with home video. Who else didn't care for the closing song? I liked the opening one.

Hands down, I liked the Bailey Quarters character SO much more than Jennifer Marlowe. It wasn't even close. I also much preferred Mary Ann over Ginger on Gilligan's Island. Go figure! I really enjoy what you do here and I start pretty much every day by checking out your various pages. Keep it up!

I was in love with Bailey. That was one beautiful woman, and one of my favorite episodes was when Johnny was camping out at her apartment. She so shows up to the station the next day with a tight pair of jeans and Johnny's T-shirt and that was just one hot woman.
