whenever i cross the I 75 bridge northbound into the city this song instantly comes into my head and i either start to hum it or sing it. 1 of the best tv shows from the late 70's early 80's. i was just there this past weekend for horror hound my friends asked me what i was singing i told them and they said oh yeah i remember watching reruns of the show i tell em i watched 1st run episodes.

30+ years later i still love this song... I grew up in brooklyn, ny and remember being mezmorized by the short views of cincinnatti when the song came on. I live about 1hr & 1/2 away now,and love driving through cincy, especially coming into the city from Kentucy. I'ts become one of- if not my favorite city. Cincinnatti is a beautiful city,especially at night !!!. The people are great too. I'm anxious to live there. One day I will. Thanks for posting this.

@ECWnWWF Riverfront Stadium was torn down many years ago. That was home to the "BIG RED MACHINE" of the 1970s. Today, the Cincinnati Reds play in "Great American Ballpark" which is also downtown.

Great tribute to my hometown! I still think its funny when people as me where WKRP was....I have to laugh and say "only on TV! It was a fictional radio station!" I think they should have made one just for the hell of it though!

Same with me. My parents left the Cleveland area when I was 12 back in 1987 and we came to Central Florida (Altamonte Springs specifically). At the age of 37 I am still in Central Florida and wish I was still back in Ohio. Maybe when the economy picks up I will make the move back. Cincy seems like a cool city as well.
@johnwoa12 жыл бұрын
@torchwoodjackharknes Thanks for the reply! The saddest day of my life was when my parents moved our family away from Cincy down to central Florida when I was 11. It's 47 years later and I've still not totally gotten over it. I grew up in Delhi Hills---- God's country! Kentucky is a beautiful state and my great-grandparents are originally from there. I'm permanently in Toronto (a VERY LONG story), but I frequently "DX" WLW am 700 up here at night and get the local news.

Ah I kind of like this song from when I saw the show as a kid. and got friends in the city the places I wish to see if I were to visit though are in the over the rhine district which people who visited auburn for the auction at kruse tell me is the worst most crime ridden ghetto in the city. But there is still kings island to go see been years since I went there.

@ToaoRaj Impugn it. My reasoning is I travelled 13 hours from Ontario, Canada to watch an NFL game and fell in love with the city with no intentions on it happening. I found what you had to say distasteful and what I interpreted the city to represent is affirmed by the awards they have won. I would definitely have no problem living and loving life in Cincinnati if I ever had the opportunity. This is with no bias only experience of someone visiting the great city of Cincinnati.

If it is done make sure it is the shows put to tape before 1989 as the rights to use the songs are not good after that date. Any DVD made after that date is different with the actual songs by the original artists not included in each episode.

That's cool. No disrespect but living on either one of the coasts all my life I've always associated Cincy with being one of those anonymous isolated Midwestern small big cities in the middle of nowhere. It's sort of a blank slate in my mind, kind on the same level as places like Kansas City, Indianapolis, Omaha, Columbus and St. Louis. Is there honestly anything that distinctive about it?

No, I meant parts in general downtown that weren't shown. Though Cincy is beautiful at night with all the lights, it's far from being clean like it used to be. Even surrounding suburbs. I would like to see a REAL cincy video.

@johnwoa Sadly you are correct. To me it was a sad day to see Riverfront Stadium go down, I could never call it Cinergy Field...It never felt right to call the house where Pete Rose beat Ty Cobb's hit record Cinergy field. I am not a big fan of Great American Ballpark. To those that want to insult Cincinnati, keep your comments to yourself. Though I was raised in Kentucky, Cincinnati is the city of my birth, and in the end my one true home town, you don't like it stay the hell out.

I see, its a shame, that the new ones are eye sores, most of the new stadiums are built to look old though, but it costs more to build two of them, but eh what are you going to do except complain, the city usually does what it wants anyway.

@manga12 yeah they tore down river front stadium and built two new eyesores after both teams threatened to leave the city unless the taxpayers of Hamilton county paid to have the before said eyesores built.
@TazJr12 жыл бұрын
Just picking on Cincinnati on this is unfair; except for Columbus all Ohio cities have had huge population decline. This is due to the loss of many manufacturing/industrial type of jobs in the state; it's happening in Canada in Windsor. However, being a place to do cheap business attracts new companies to do business in a city. In 2009, Cincinnati was listed fourth on CNN's Top 10 cities for new grads. Would such a reputable news station recommend moving to a city where thousands are "fleeing"?
@Antihippie2413 жыл бұрын
Cincinnati is nasty, I lived here all my life and I been around the world with the military, it is a very dirty ass city. Chicago is nicer in the south side compared to Cincinnati lol
