This truck looks fantastic and I'm glad they were spot on accurate with their 2s speed rating. The lack of dual rates on the steering is unfortunate as it oversteers and the tires also lose grip too easily especially on 3s but overall this truck is fantastic.

Yes they definitely need to upgrade their old transmitters with a ST dual rate, pretty lazy from WLtoys not to include one these days when many other budget rc campanies have dual rates standard. Overall i think it's a decent brushless upgrade truck from last years model, some better tyres would help. Cheers for watching Ryan

👋🏻 Dave! Not sure if you watched Tomleys redo review on this, but he had the same issue on keeping this thing in a straight line. He took his diffs apart and found them to be I bit too tight. He to a spacer washer out allowing for smoother rotation. It pretty much fixed the squirrelly handling and improved run time. Too many washer spacers … who would of think? This thing looks like a blast in the sand. Awesome place to bash! Take care buddy!👍🏻😃

Yes it's a pretty decent 1/12 truck, wish they'd put some different off road tyres on this model though. As far as my collection, I have lightened it a bit over the past year or so as there is no room to keep em all. Thanks for watching Greg

Seems like they need to do a little more work on this one. Maybe V2 will have a few bugs worked out. Maybe just stick to a low C 2s on V1.

are the tyres out of round? just that others have similar issues with tires n tight diffs the latter well is norm for these type wltoys "fill grease+diff tightness check" check is a given norm for these 124/104 models range which i own both models. 60kph is plenty fast but we always want more don't we LOL.. just got some brushless platnium 5200kv 3650 and 60amp esc with dumbo+ servo 20kg yeah overkill..i think it will just flip or blow cvs/diffs or both, guess i can turn speed down!! LOL

Hey mate, I was looking at getting the 104016 model for my son. Are these pretty similar models? And they look like they might be able to take a bit of a bashing from a beginner hey?

Hi mate the 124016 and this model are totally different chassis models, this one is primarily made of hard plastic compared to the alloy chassis of the desert buggy but yes this is a capable off road basher for sure for off road bashing👍

To do 34 MPH on 2s puts it right there at arrma 3s territory. I think with a good pass on 3s, it is arrma 3s fast as well. That's pretty impressive. Tomley found the diffs in his were a bit tight. I'm actually impressed to see a 10th scale truck from wltoys, if they make a short course truck in 1/10 size that can go as fast as this, I'll be the first and second in line to buy one.

I think it’s more the suspension and less about the tires. I could be wrong though.

The small holes on the inside of the rims let in a heap of sand making the wheels and tyres all unbalanced

Nope its not an issue unless you want to have a larger lipo than the stock one

Everyone that has reviewed this one has said its hard to control.. would different tires help? I wanted this one but now I am torn… I love my brushed version. Do you think you might switch the tires out and rerun it?

Yeah as you can see on the tarmac it just loses traction pretty much as soon as you full throttle, tyres aren't that great tbh. Will try some other tyres on it next time i take it out

guys...how durable is this car? I saw a video.... he say the drive shaft brake every time.... so its a big problem! Can anyone say something about the real durability from this car? Is he every time broken or is this car very solid? thanks

I canr speak for others but I haven't had any issues so far and I've taken it out for a bash a few times.
