Nice video David! I wonder if the grease got squeezed out of the ring and crown gears? You can also drill a small hole or cut a relief in the shock piston to let the oil past. You can also use a lighter weight oil. Have a great day mate and be safe out there!
@cwatson42785
@cwatson42785 3 жыл бұрын
It looks like the grease flung off the crown gear after the first use. Isn't that somewhat normal? And is it that crucial to have grease on that outside crown Gear? Just curious your thoughts. But I think they had it on the gear and it spins off and onto the diff cup. I don't think they just put that on the plastic case. Great video, I'm sure it will help alot of owners of this car.
@PERTHWESTOZRC

Yeah I’m not so sure as there is another guy that pulled his apart as well and showed the grease around the plastic diffs housing as well and I don’t even think he ran his 124019 before hand, the gears were pretty dry on the crown and centre shaft as well, front was also the same so who knows! Anyways I like to put some grease in the crown gear etc just helps with reducing wear, just something I’ve always done ✅ thanks for watching Chris 👍🍻

Hi everyone. How do you undo the screw on top of the steering clutch so I can remove the plastic main drive train shaft cover? I can undo the screw on the bottom of the chassis and have tried holding that with a screwdriver and then trying to undo the top screw but it just spins like it's threaded. I've seen another video of this car and they easily unscrewed the top one. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Cheers.
@PERTHWESTOZRC
@PERTHWESTOZRC Жыл бұрын
Yeah in some cases wltoys use friggn glue instead of loctite on the screw heads, that has happened to me on the steering clutch screw as well, it makes the whole stand off spin, get a screw driver on the bottom of the chassis and hold it there and another driver on the top screw and break the glue off so you can successfully undo it.

Hey mate I got it. Thank you. I just needed another person to hold the car and lots of force and your suggestion worked. Thats quite disappointing wltoys do that. I have spent the last 3.5 hours trying to undo that screw by watching videos. Now I'll continue on your video to do the diffs. Is it correct NOT to put grease on the plastic drive shaft spur gear and metal gear on the motor?

That's a bit of a high price for a 1:12. You get the Quanum Vandal with brushless combo for 100 bucks. I won't say that the Quanum is a good car. But considering the fact that Wltoys has cloned an LC-Racing car doesn't make it good. I saw a guy getting frustrated opening that thing up (the 144...) and stripping screws and not being able to change spur gear cause they used locktite literally everywhere. For me the Wltoys were always a pain in the ...! That diffs are made of metal but in the 12428 this was not preventing them from losing right distance to each other and macking crackling noises. And those dogbones, they bend immediately, unless Wltoys uses better metal here. Crazy prices lately. That 959b is the most ridiculous car I've ever bought. They really want 50-60 bucks for a car that comes with bushings and is so wobbly constructed that it will NEVER go straight, even if you beg it! And here in Cyprus they would even take double the price for a car that will break rear knuckles due to being too thin for the force that the 1:10th motor is able to put on it. Sorry for my rant. I'm over it, already. It's a beauty though, this new one you got.
@InTheSh8
@InTheSh8 3 жыл бұрын
I would also in that price class consider to buy the 1/10th buggy from HSP. I have the drift car and used it as a touring with a 4S brushless motor (with 3s battery). One can say whatever they want about HSP, but I didn't break anything since 2 years, now. Nothing. Buggy should be fine. The MT has it's flaws as we know.
