Installing some much better performing shocks and replacing my front differential aswell as installing a 3s battery. The 3s really didnt make much difference from the huge 2s i had however it is lighter and has better punch which was the goal. And a much needed upgrade says everyone. Thanks for making this video. PS personally I prefer a very low volume of mostly non distracting music like in a lobby or elevator with a voice over... that explains what your doing as opposed to what the squirrel your dog barfed up smells like... actually that kinda sounds entertaining. But you know what I am getting at. Thanks again

Sweet. I’ve upgraded the esc and servo and have the metal diff which I’ve locked in the rear. Would definitely recommend doing these if going 3S

Hey with the front shocks, do you need to upgrade them if you replace the front steering and suspension with all metal parts? I replaced everything but the shocks and the truck sits fine but won’t spring back up when I press down. Everything is loose not over tight.

There are pins that hold the front suspension arms. They are the long bolts with the nuts towards the body. If they become bent they can make the suspension not want to move. Also the shocks cylinder can be bent which would cause them to stick or bind. I would remove shock amd check arm amd shock separately to narrow down where the binding is. Maybe shock angle is not good also. 🤟

Which tyres are these? I am searching but I only find 1:10 scale drift wheel and not for this model 1:12 scale.

I had 1/10 drift wheels with 12 mm hex. Big mud tires are austar beadlock super swamper

Do you prefer smaller tires to avoid the truck from rolling when hiting sudden turn?

It made it lower which helps stability and reduced the stress on the motor with smaller wheels. However i didnt notice it rolling or flipping any less when it came to me losing control. But at high speed it was stable and less ballooning with less tire aswell. However i was forced as i destroyed 1 set of wheels and it was so fast it sent my beadlocks tires off the rim and into the woods...

No it is just the one cylinder on the shock itself I found that the piggyback cylinder is a false one there just for looks that's what I get for getting cheap ones but they still work very well

deverias fazer upgrade pra metal diferenciais pra puder rodar bem em 3s , creio que deve haver pra este popular model ,mas eu prefiro o 1:10 model, creio ter um requinte e um acabamento suprior e so custa mais 20 euros , acho que vale a pena

I have replied previously to someone else that they come oil filled but with crappy oil I have since replaced I didn't have to do it in this video wasn't the point of this video

Those shocks need to be filled. They barely have any oil from the factory just to keep teh seals lubed.

Mine were filled with a thin oil. I need to order better oil. I had to rebuild one after jumping it off my roof

Those shocks look WAY too stiff, will make this thing crap, the soft suspension is needed as soft as possible for a four link to work at optimum level, I know these things are cheap POS (I have one) but they are awesome fun so def worth getting metal diff gears and some decent shocks from a reputable brand, if it’s a drifter you got the wrong car but might as well just run solid rod instead of shocks if it is.

There not stiff at all. Idk what you mean. They are offroad shocks made to absorb large bumps. It handles very well now still using these shocks. Trust me they are soft.

They are between 5 and 10mm taller in the back. Front is the same.as of now. If i can utilize that bracket it will be a slight bit taller in the front. If you want taller 115 mm in the back is all id recommend. Too much pitch on shaft. Id have to say i gave up the idea of making it bigger. Eyes on the 10428b. Excellent crawler similar setup but bigger.

You took out plastic geared diffs and installed other plastic gears? Why would you do that? Did your buggy last with 3S power or did it blow apart? 3S is too much power. Are you using the same shocks in the front and the back? They're are nowhere near the same length. Most guys hate videos without the person explaining what they are doing. The front shocks need to be vertical. To be honest about it, I am the thread originator for a Mod thread for this buggy and, after 3 years of trying to make something better out of a cheap buggy, I would not recommend this one to anybody when the 12402 addresses a lot of its shortcomings - at the same price!

@@supastihl89 A-haaaa I thought there must be something when you said that 3s did not make much difference! 3s will give you much more performance, but obviously the downside is much more wear and tear and broken parts. I think the best battery to go with this car is a 2s Lipo but no more than 3000mAH. I use the 2200mAH to keep the weight low, and It gives decent running time, at least 20 minutes, and more than that if you don't go full throttle most of the time. So I much prefer sticking in a 2200 and have a charged spare one with me, rather than a 5000mAH. No music is OK with me, but some light commentary would harm no-one. Well done and cheers mate!
