WNT Scavenger Hunt Gets Real, Real Quick

During a break in training in Portugal before the 2015 Algarve Cup, the WNT was put through a team-building exercise that was a scavenger hunt of sorts, as groups of players had to accomplish a list of tasks in a set amount of time. To no one’s surprise, it quickly got competitive as the teams tried to creatively accomplish their tasks to win the day.

The defenders won of course, because they're organized. The forwards thought it was every woman for herself, and the midfielders, well, they didn't even know their roles.

Sorry, late. "Scavenger Hunt" is a game. Basically, no set rules. You may receive an invite from a friend? Titled, "Party & Scavenger Hunt!" Some people may choose to party and not participate in "Scavenger Hunt." "Scavengers" usually younger. Germany is a very large and great country! Say, you're in Dieburg - hour south of Frankfurt. My teammates and I's greatest vacation/soccer spent in 1982! Three weeks! Each of us graciously housed by amazing families, rivals and brothers! Instructions to you and your friends/party-mates might be: 1) Bring back a stein. Schlossgartenfest (Indescribable! Greatest madness of all-time)! 2). Go to a Schwimmbad, (Swimming Pool) where Americans are getting "Rad!" Haha! California Surf, Beach-Lingo. "Lifeguards are yelling German, but we know that they are mad!" Bring back an Ameican male's swim trunks - easy to spot. Down to his knees! 3). Retrieve a farhart (bicycle). Missing seat! Only one! In Dieburg. Americans tried to make a, "Surf-cycle?!" Surfing-safari! Way to Schlossgartenfest! Seat popped off! Still "Festivaled!" Walked home. P.S. Surfed Manhattan prior, our favorite USWNT Idols! Abby (Wambach), Tobin (Heath), Kelley (O'Hara), but they play soccer and surf way better than us! 4). Photos and videos of you "Prost" (cheers) and "auf x" (cheers and pound till completion)! Anytime, anywhere - Germany! Germans left, four hours earlier than us, every night! They'd share every morning, "Now, we know why there are drinking laws in America... you guys... not good!" Everyone would erupt! 5). " Apfelwein!" From the Americans! "Our friends did not imagine dying/drowning from, 'Apple-Wine?!" On a hike! Germans tasked with retrieving one American (still partying, fighting with indigenous animals over vines/wines, outside Dieburg, in the woods)! Lol! AYSO, everything in The States until '77 or '78? Formed AYSO All-Star teams to compete. '78-'79 Club came along. Alan Waxman. Dr. Alan Waxman and his wife Linda (RIP) took our team (Club - Manhattan Beach Hurricanes) to Holland/Netherlands in '79! For two weeks! Alan still studies Nuclear Medicine at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles! We didn't know and he & Linda liked it that way! Alan is the greatest Coach I have ever met! Amazing man! The Dutch underestimated us! We were 14 and steamrolled Dutch 12, 13 and 14 year olds. Then came Utrecht! They were 16 year olds, but handed us our fanny's (3-1)! We were not happy! Still not! Closing: Specter of sport: Greatest arbiter of acceptance. Trips to Holland and Germany, irreplaceable! Why, I follow our USWNT Soccer so closely. Not because they win. They bring an American perspective back to all of us and project our values abroad. We (United States) and feel everyone (globally) are more interested in travels than goals and victories. From our 1982 trip to Dieburg, Germany - The Manhattan Beach Hurricanes salute, "We go to the Schwimmbad! On diving boards we get rad! The lifeguard is yelling German, but we know that he is mad! Pommes Frites, Pommes Frites... Rop-Dop-Dop, A little Dai-Do!" Chorus repeats every chance?! Coordinated, or not! Never ceased. Coach VW - Hawthorne - endured, a lot! Our story, team, trip(s) - then and now, might not have meant, a lot... but, I believe they did/do. We represented ourselves and hopefully, you and others.
