Namalsk already nailed the concept. It's my favorite map and I couldn't be less excited for Frontline, it'll just be a 1-to-1 rip off, that's why they hired sumrak but it'll cost $40 unlike namalsk.

Watch/listen to the full interview all of the creators had that went on the trip to Czech Republic. The devs confirmed that there will be new specific assets for this map like houses and buildings, however, they will of course reuse some assets because this DLC is basically to help fund the next DayZ title. They didn't show much as they said pretty much everything is still work in progress so at the moment they have just copy and pasted a lot of assets to be able to show a teaser trailer.

Honestly i am very happy for Livonia being added to the basic game. The map is amazing(Could use a bit more work), but population is not what it deserves to be right now, and this will help greatly. :)

You know the only official maps are chernarus and livonia? Namalsk is modded and is only playable on pc and not on console.. Of course it's for free..

Even after all these years namalsk is still nowhere near as polished as chernarus or even livonia. Cant really compare the two. You dont need to pay full price for the new map, just wait until it goes for 5 or 10 bucks on sale, no big deal.

I agree completely, this is a huge disappointment. They are just reusing the exact same assets, it’s so lazy. It’s like you said “it’s not something to look forward to playing” This game desperately needs a new engine or “Dayz2” as you said.

Dayz isn’t falling behind, it’s graphics are pretty solid and if they were any better it would only harm console players. On top of that, it would mean going straight back to square one with limited content and a really buggy game overall. Dayz is finally reaching a point of high stability and still has the means of supporting plenty of high quality updates, which means other than to make money, there’s no reason to make a new game, and at that point they can just make new map dlc’s like they are doing now.

Enfusion engine is already better than RV, once I played Enfusion I don't play DayZ at all anymore.

@berdyderg900 They are working with a broken engine. It is essentially a modified Arma 2 engine (Arma 2.5) that they based off the mod. During its inception, it still had server issues like lag and desync. Something even Arma 3 has problems with. Which is why i stopped playing DayZ. It is too repetitive, laggy and feels pointless
