Most of us Ghanaians in the west live beyond your means. You buy a more expensive car, pay high insurance cos of it than your paycheck, lie about your income for mortgage you can't pay with the hope of selling the house in few years, then ship the money to Ghana. Many send too much money to Ghana for relatives, some relatives in Ghana literally live like kings over their families in the West. That is not right. Many Ghanaian doesn't like further education when in the western. We just work work and work and even sleep on the road while driving. Double shift and what not. You know what I'm talking about. When you observe the Asian community in the West, you see how they make it big. I'm talking from experience. If you are not a technical person, well educated with high earn income, it is very hard to survive with Wal-Mart, CNA , Lowe's etc paycheck. That is the reality. We also see how among the Africans in the diaspora, Nigerians are mostly educated with high earning jobs and businesses.

Bro that was a good one. I think every conscious African living in the diaspora understands better what she’s saying. I remember back home, even after work, we could still hang out and have fun with our friends to the utmost. But here in the West, even though we do have friends, we barely see each other and can hardly have fun together as we used to do back home. Why? ‘Cause the system made it in a such a way that it all revolves around work. You work so much to the extent that after work, all you are caring about is to rest or sleep, even though sometimes you feel like going out with some friends lol. Anyway, thanks for sharing bro. That was awesome and Jasmine is pretty lol.

Remember, her house and car are paid for, so she doesn't have to survive on much. In Africa, if you have a house and car paid for, that is a major chunk of expense lifted from you.

Don't be easily carried by that. 500 USD in Ghana is earned by top professionals for a month. Just trying to help you out here. I have lived and worked in both places. If you want to go settle, then don't go with the mentality of working for nobody cos the pay is not good. Even Wal-Mart pay check is bigger, on the average. Save some money first, go visit every now and then, see the opportunities there, there a lot of them, then come back to the states, look for things that can propel that vision, work your ass off then come back and open your company, labor is cheap in Ghana and you can now live a kingly life. If you don't plan well Ghana is difficult having had the taste of western livelihood. I have friends making millions in Ghana and paying bills for their families in the US. If u don't have a plan and a capital, it is never easy at all.

Try living in Cuba. You don't have rent because a house is giving to you by the government. However they aren't giving away anymore so for years people just have to live with multiple family members under one roof. You are not legally allowed to own or buy a car. So you have to walk, bike or bus anywhere. If you buy a motorcycle or car illegally which you can then you have to go way out of your way to take back roads so you don't get busted. And definitely don't piss off your neighbors. Because once you do if you ever do anything illegal they will snitch.

You can tell she feels bored and lonely at times but that's normal when you move to a whole new city and country with not having the most of friends there. Overall you can only give respect to her she did everything right and made a very good decision. Nobody should hate or be envious of her she is doing well for herself and we should be happy for her rather. And what she said about meeting up during the week in the western world is beyond true!!! I'm sure everyone in a regular 9 to 5 in the west can somewhat relate! Congratulations to her

In the West, life is all about working, working, working, spending, spending, spending and then to die without having lived. The system is designed in such a way that you would only live for work and never have enough time for yourself unless you give yourself time by force and then suffer serious economic consequences for giving yourself time off.
