Synopsis:
Squadron Leader Veer Pratap Singh (Shah Rukh Khan) is a rescue pilot with the Indian Air Force. In the line of duty he comes across a stranded Zaara (Preity Zinta)... a girl from Pakistan who has come to India to fulfill her surrogate mothers dying wish. Veer saves her life and his life is never the same again.
Twenty two years later Saamia Siddiqui (Rani Mukerji), a Pakistani human rights lawyer on her first case, finds herself face to face with an aging Veer Pratap Singh. He has languished in a Pakistan jail cell for 22 years and has not spoken to anyone all these years. And no one knows why. Her mission is to discover the truth about Veer and see to it that justice is served.

I agree, she was always in Rani's shadow :( Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Veer-Zaara and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna... I found Preity's role more better and amazing in all these movies, only enjoyed these movies cuz of her, not cuz of Rani, but Rani was always getting the "love" and attention from Bollywood people, its nepotism..... Still can't belive Rani won best actress award for Hum Tum in 2004, same year which Preity played Zaara in this lovely film

But YRF and Dharma movies have always been like that, romanticisizing the unrealistic and not showing the everyday struggle of mundane life. That's why I believe that Kabhie Alvida Naa Kehna was a mature take on the topic of love.

This is my all time favorite movie❤..can watch it again and again...the kind of love shown in this movie is truly respectable....this is what true love is.. ❤❤❤...its not only about love but also on patriotism and it made an attempt to maintain harmony between the two borders..not to trigger tension or hatred..

I miss watching this movie for the first time. Even though i was a kid of 4th grade but the emotions this movie portrayed feels the same everytime i watch this. Absolutely brilliant. One of the best bollywood movies ever.
