Fr. Buddhism is open to all people, regardless of how much you earn, your race, sex, orientation, whether you are transgender, etc. (yes, there may be some specifics about monasticism, but all lay people can practice Buddhism). Wisdom is the most important thing. Unfortunately, many people are too concerned with their ego and want everything to be about them and for them. Apparently, Buddhism is "too boring" and "too easy" for such people (bc it's cool to be oppressed, right?), and they want to get involved in, for example, Islam, which is very strange.

I've had 2 gay rabbis. I'm atheist (actually a Satanist which obv Arielle here has a problem with) but would still go to temple Friday nights, for the community & culture. Only I can't because there's 17 churches and 42 mosques in my current city, but no Jewish houses of worship (or even meeting spaces). I've been so ostracized for being Jewish. I'm bisexual and am not longer welcome, or comfortable, in LGBT spaces (or the Arts for that matter) even tho I had trans friends and was in the gay community since the 90s. It's ridiculous to see these folks becoming Islam because I had friends who had to flee and hide from their Muslim families for being LGBT. Judaism and Satanism are the most accepting religions, and Islam is the least. It's almost like the LGBT and woker-than-thou folks hate Judaism so much that they had to turn to the group/religion who actively hates Jews and seeks to wipe them out.

I’m so tired of being called a cis hetero. I’m a straight woman, no other words need to be used.
@willischwabe1324
@willischwabe1324 3 ай бұрын
Cis covers two parts: 1) You know who you are attracted to. 2) Your sexual identity matches your biological reality. A straight white woman could also mean, that you are born male but your sexual identity is female (meaning, in this logic: you are a woman) and you are attracted to men. The core issue with this cis term is, that they don't show you the respect and ... courtesy? ... that they expect from everyone else - to be called or adressed in a way that you prefer and not being labeled or have a slapped with a term that you absolutely resent. But I wanted to just explain the logic and reason a bit, behind the cis term. Which *doesn't* mean, that it is okay to use it just as they throw a fit if you misgender them. It is a boundary they have to respect and respect goes both ways. If someone is being disrespectful towards me, I won't respect that person by using their prefered pronouns, just like they don't respect my wish to not be called "cis" which sounds like a pathological term and is therefore highly disrespectful and degradating (or is it degrading?)

Honestly this just makes me think of Matthew 6:5-6. _"...And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy father which is in secret; and thy father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."_ I realize there's some negative history between Christendom and Witchcraft, but I like to think that the Christians who committed these atrocities were effectively no better than the Pharisees that were alluded to in said scripture. I guess ultimately what I'm saying is that this Woke-ism is a new religion, and we're already seeing their very own Pharisees.

I think you're exactly right. They all probably grew up christian, oftentimes fundie or fundie-lite and ended up with some level of religious trauma. So they become a teenager or young adult and reject the family beleif system. They then have a god-shaped hole in their psyche that they try to fill in all sorts of ways before they circle back around to god. It cant be the exact god of their upbringing though-they havent properly addressed that religious trauma. I went through most of those stages myself, but im not angry at my family's religion anymore. I never went back to religion and i dont see it happening. For whatever reason, i find that my mind is incapable of believing in a god. That is, incapable of beleving based on the evidence i currently have... If new, incredible evidence comes out, i could be persuaded to beleive incredible things. Anyway, as it stands, all i need to fill that god-space is humanism and some vague beleifs about using my short time as a consious being to make the world better than i found it, in some teeeny tiny little way. I did several years of entirely secualr buddhist practice as well... That was good for me. Imho if the folks in this video learned to sit zazen, their lives would greatly improve within a few months of practice... the miserable and social-media addicted could all use time in the monastery LOL.

The playing with intentions and spells of manipulation and selfish personal gain, harming others in revenge. Mocking, laughing, and finding delight in doing harm, causing intentional damage. Opening portals, invocations, provoking and inviting darker energies out to "have fun", without any regard for the repercussions of their actions.

The present is the result of the mindset of the early 2000s. The end point of alphabetism was that people's natural inclination trumps reason, judgement, and free will. That behavior was not a choice, it was an existence. And existence is not something that should or can be judged. Such judgements were a fabrication of philosophy, of religion, and had no place in society. If this process was true in the 2000s, the end result is still true in the present. This framework also informs their attitude towards races. How many condescending and abjectly racist takes have we seen in recent years with math and science or even punctuality being a "white" thing.

A notable example would be ESPN commentary around Donovan McNabb. They played up his abilities beyond what his statistics could support because of his race. By the numbers, he was only average at best. One of their commentators called them out on that fact, saying they were elevating him and extolling him for MVP not because of his play but because of his color. Out in Japan, you put a ribbon on a tree near the Shinto shrine, seek social and professional advice from a Buddhist monk, and get married in a Catholic Church near Nagasaki ALL ON THE SAME DAY practically, because there are plenty of cultures that appreciate and embrace Christianity while retaining its local flavor without having to dilute one for the other. It's wild and weird. But it's also sort of a plot point in some of the fan fic I write, because it's something you don't get out of American leftist culture (leftist culture at large, come to think of it). The other flavor of wingnut is far more considerate, but then get smoked by American Protestant Christians. Over here, it's an all-or-nothing do-or-die, polarizing chastisement-fest. @@WatchThatFirstStep There are interesting similarities between the Bible and modern science. Like God not being bound by time and space ("I knew you before you were born" or Jesus after the resurrection who could just "appear" at places) and today we know that time and space are relative. Also the idea of creation, that it requires a creator operating from outside the boundaries of time and space, because time and space have to come into existence simultaneously. If you create matter without time, then "when" would it be, without time? If you created time without anything existing, then "where" would it be? Time and space are connected and inseperable (hence, the relativity of time and space). There are good videos from I think... "Daily dose of wisdom" that are rather short and interesting at the same time - thought provoking. I assume you might find it interesting.

I think it’s more of a search for meaning & community. People used to belong to churches & join the military & local clubs which some of them I think were referred to as lodges. People moved less & so they had roots & knew everyone nearby. Now we have a fast paced life where people move often & frequently change jobs. Some find community online but that lacks meaning. So now they’ll join Antifa for meaning & community. Others will find community & a sense of virtual among gender lines. It’s obviously a lot more complicated & that’s not ti say that certain groups are illegitimate but many will join them or subscribe to them for meaning & community. You’ll see many people whose whole identity is defined by politics or a specific group that they’ve painted themselves into making it even harder to leave or have an identity outside of it. This is the very reason some of these people seem like cult members & their groups are analogous to cults. Just my theory & opinion.

I'm an atheist. I will say when I was in high school, I was very depressed. I was also looking for myself or an identity. Growing up in a Christian and Mormon community. . .I had always heard how you just need Jesus. Or faith. And my parents (who were Christian) never raised me in anything. . .it was on me to try and find something. I read about Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Wicca/Pagan, Buddhism. . . I found myself resonating with Buddhism myself. I even considered myself one for many years, but eventually simply embraced the label of atheist because that is what I am even if I resonate with some of what Buddhism teaches. I did. . .try to read/study Islam when I was young, but found it difficult to do so. I kept running into things saying that if you don't read the Quran in Arabic. . .then you haven't truly read it. In my late 20s I went back to trying to learn about it more out of interest than trying to find a faith. Islam is really interesting in some ways. . .and I think a lot of these TikTokers are not really understanding it. Just taking it at surface level and, like you said, using it for more "oppression points."

I'm agnostic/atheist, but latched onto the "virtue system" from the Ultima computer games as a kid and still feel drawn to its principles. @@dancegregorydance6933 I wasn't even just thinking of that, more about the suffering of innocents with major medical problems like birth defects, cancer, organ failure, and so forth. I saw and heard things as a kid in the pediatric surgical wing that has haunted me ever since. Religious people would say it was so we could "teach" others something, but any omnipotent deity could achieve that without torturing a third party. As for human behavior, an omniscient entity would know the instant someone is starting to develop the kinds of problems that build towards major issues later on, and it'd be easy for an omnipotent power to guide other people to discover ways to detect & intervene in those first moments, long before it involves shaping behavior.

These people don't understand the fundamentals of what they "Believe in". They think it's just AsThEtIc. When, in realty, you start messing with spiritual things of this nature and you do it wrong, You invite dangerous entities into your life. There is a wrong way to do magic, and thats how you end up with people being cursed, Malignant entites attatching themselves to you, being possessed, ect... Every beginner practitioner I have ever met has always wanted to jump straight into the "Fun Part" of magic. You can't do that. You wear a condom during sex right? So you need to also protect yourself when doing magic. Summoning demons isn't a fun citchy "PaSsTiMe" It is a dangerous dark art that should be taken serously and all precautions taken.

I wish I could give this comment 1000 likes. Ignorance of the "powers + principalities" connected to the occult as an edgy aesthetic = big FAFO energy. The thing is, you typically can't recognize the influence those occult symbols have on you until after you've received the ass whooping. Hindsight and clarity. And often, even then, the person won't realize the core cause for their misery and "bad luck." Like a hypnotic spell, manifesting as perceptual & cognitive processing blinders ("veils"). An inability to connect Captain Obvious dots. Denial is a helluva drug (on which it's far too easy to OD). It's like seeing kids in daycare running around with knives & lighters...but being helpless to stop them. Just gotta hope & pray they survive the inevitable consequences 😥

I'm in my early 40s and I've been a witch and pagan since I was a teenager in the mid-90s. I have never cared about being part of that community but in the past few years I have distanced myself even more by unfollowing a few youtubers who went crazy woke, so yeah, I've seen the change, and it's 100% for the worse. What I want people to know is that until this crazyness started, witchcraft and paganism were very personal paths that had nothing to do with activism or any desperate attempt to be seen as "special" in a victimistic way. At most you would find environmentalists and some old school hippie feminist. It was just an alternative way to live one's spirituality and we were encouraged to find our own personal path without being influenced by others. Pretty much the opposite of what is happening now with this new generation. So I agree with you, they are desperate for guidance, in the sense that they don't know who they are and what they want so they can't manifest anything on their own: they need to be told what to do and how to do it. Which is why nothing they do would ever work anyway. "Tik tok witchcraft" is a cancer for this reason.

Most "pagans" are not religious in any fashion but are merely counter-culturalist desperately trying to seem edgy, especially in the south. The serious, religious polytheists and practioners, such as myself, refer to them as "playgans." I long have distanced myself from "pagan" as a descriptive term for what I do. They are literally completely different in their bellief systems. Pagans believe in reincarnation and multiple Gods and Goddesses. Christians would call that being a sinner, and say that your going to hell if you believe in more then one god. They believe in heaven and hell. How did that work for you? Your basically cheating on both religions. Christians (most) have no respect for Pagans or Paganism, even though they celebrate Pagan holidays. Make it make sence.
