25:58 white English Brit here, did 18 years in London from 2004 to 2022, it went from cosmopolitan to mainly Islam - at least in the NW8 area where I lived. Awful. Mostly Muslim migrants are able to be housed there, claiming close family ties to the are via previous immigrants, so they get the social housing in zone 1/2 area. The council are filled with their ilk, helping each other. Then those working pay thousands to live besides them (that was me) while they don’t work, don’t talk English, act as if they still live in the Middle East. Then the shops go their way, the schools are filled with their offspring - and you look around as a native white Brit and it no longer looks like England. So you leave….

Im spiritual not religious, but if i had to choose it would definitely be Christianity. In Christianity Jesus died for humanity and our sins, in Islam you have to kill and die for Allah.

The second half of that Ephesians 5 teaching is, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her”, and “in this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies.” The church teaches male headship, but it’s the sort of headship that Christ displayed, servant leadership. Women aren’t being asked to unquestioningly obey a man who treats her like a slave - they’re being asked to respect and serve a man who in turn is giving up his life to serve her, putting her needs before his own. It’s a pretty radical ask - not what a bloke who just wanted to sit and be brought sandwiches would have written. CS Lewis puts it pretty well in The Four Loves: “Is it not clear that this teaching is most faithfully lived out in that man whose marriage is most like a crucifixion?”

Comparing the immigrants in England to Latinos in the United States is utter nonsense. Latinos are predominantly Catholic, so we share a religious faith, and we also share pretty much the same values. Latinos in the United States fit in seamlessly with white Americans, except among bigots who hate everyone who isn't exactly like they are.

I think of wokeism as the new religion. I am an atheist. I believe in science, critical thinking, reason, and rational thinking. Women are adult human females. I never bent my knee for black lives matter. I don't believe in critical race theory etc.

Forbid islam in Europe and make a law of it.

Old feminist here. Fr. Robinson, you are not presenting the feminism of the 70's and 80's as it was or its goals .I have to say this because I was active in the time. A primary goal was for women to be able to function in the economy. I was well over twenty before I could have my own credit card. It took a lot of energy to get that right for women.

I think for every woman who has a nice high income job, there's four or five who are sweating as maids, fast food workers, or nursing home. caretakers being paid tiny amounts by a greedy business industry and trying to support their children as the man has left.

I remember saying this to one of my friends that wokeism is basically another religion which humans are following. Religion at the end of the day is a social construct. I would rather have people be moderately religious than follow wokeism.

Women are not there to obey men! I believe in family life. If I study physics, I am not staying at home to obey a man but using my skills to benefit society, for example. Objective truth is important.

It's difficult to disagree with Calvin but the whole issue of women in paid work started in ernest during the war effort, not through feminism. Greedy companies have perpetuated this so that now women *have* to work in order to afford to have children. And yes, I'm speaking as a wife and mother. My husband and I could not have had our family without my financial contribution. That is what we need to fix. One full time wage should be able to pay a mortgage and support a family.

Calvin Robinson is a thoroughly good man. He has the guts to say what he really believes. I think he would be a very good friend to have if one needed advice. This was a really interesting interview by an interviewer I like of a man of principles who is through and through a good person. We need people like this to speak up for the world we British have lost to the extremist left.

The idea that “men are there to serve God and women are there to serve men” is not in the Bible. Calvin is way out of line in saying that.

As I get older it becomes more and more obvious to me how so much of our beliefs (whether religious, political or cultural) are based on emotion rather than evidence and reason.

I think the phrase is "If you don't just 'believe' things without proof you won't fall for anything."

There are definitely more choices than Christianity or Islam. I can live a moral life as an agnostic, I don't need fairy stories to teach me how to be a decent human being.

Christianity and ‘God’ seems to at its core encapsulate love, care, heart and warmth. Islam seems to be the polar opposite of this…

Thanks for hosting the interview Andrew. I’m an atheist too and I’m intrigued by the dialectical dogma and alt worldview that you were able to draw out. I was lucky enough to attend lectures as a student by actual heretic Lloyd Geering. I grew up as a Preachers Kid and it wasn’t a great experience which is why I’m a committed atheist. As an involuntarily childless woman I find the focus on reproduction and loss of women’s rights a step backwards for equity rights and inclusivity. When god created men she was only joking 🙃.

I like the idea of "cultural christian" as an atheist myself. I find a lot of what Calvin said to be utter religious nonsense.

Sometimes a wife is more qualified than her husband to make a decision. Marriage should be a partnership in which either partner can veto the other's decision. Not a dictatorship where the man says what goes and the woman just has to put up with it. Somebody will probably say the man should consult his wife but the man should make the final decision. Sorry but no, some things are deal breakers that can't be compromised

Never thought to see Fr. Robinson featured as a heretic! I really appreciate him. As a religious person, I like to watch Heretics to understand unbelievers better. It gives me ideas about how to speak to them, without coming on to strong about faith.

All of people who say they think Christianity is good but don't believe should give the bible a go. It's your heritage.

If you need to believe in an afterlife and a divine plan to be comfortable then religion is your only option; taken in small quantities the westernized version of Christianity is probably the least damaging. If you don't need to believe in an afterlife and are comfortable with uncertainty and self direction then religious belief should be avoided. What it takes to be a good person and live a satisfying and beneficial life is not a mystery.

I just find his attitude so presumptuous & condescending. I certainly wasn't born with any god imprinted on my heart. It's just such an odd statement to me. Also, saying if you don't believe in Jesus you believe in anything is just flat out insulting. He's basically calling everyone gullible and stupid. Wild.

From my memory, in AUSTRALIA AROUND, 1950'S/60'S WE HAD MASSIVE IMMIGRATION.... FROM CHRISTIAN COUNTRIES....ITALY, GREECE, if Any others I don't remember...the families who came here integrated into society's norms. They studied and spoke English. Elders who did not speak English were CARED FOR BY THE FAMILY TILL DEATH..... They brought their culture, imported and sold their food, opened restaurants and sold their food .. they INTEGRATED INTO THE AUSSIE NORM......I'm 69, I had good ethnic friends all my life, including native people's....We do have a large Muslim community, slightly radical but overall integrated.......But our government needs overhauling..... As a good catholic it pleases me that all Sir Jimmy pdf had to do was say a few prayers before he died and he gets to join his mum in heaven, he loved his mum so much he bought her a house by the seaside. Sorry, but the death of Christianity has nothing to do with competition with other religions or ideologies. It is dying due to people not buying it anymore. And a priest saying no one can control us if we're Christian is off the charts ironic & ridiculous. I love Calvin, I always have, but there are so many points I've got to disagree with here. I'm white British. I'm also a conservative atheist. My family history is we were all from SE London. None of us were religious, we're just generations of working class londoners. None of my family are "woke" and my 10 year old son would even describe himself as gender critical. It's not so much that humans need to believe in something, it's more the fact we're tribal. We need to feel we belong to something. The rise of the woke hasn't coincided with the death of religion, it's gone hand in hand with the death of patriotic love for where we live. Britain has become a dirty word. You're not allowed to say you love Britain or you're proud of being English. If you say that the likes of James O'Brian start calling you a knuckle dragging brexit supporting gammon who loves being a coloniser. Now it's, take your flags down, say sorry for absolutely everything that's happened over the past 1000 years and pray that when you do an online DNA test you've got a bit of brown ethnicity in there somewhere. I have a Muslim ex. Very “religious” (but not had no morals and wasn’t spiritual but seemed to see Islam as a weapon of control). He recently started going to church… he told me it’s to learn more about Christianity and that helps him understand Islam. Total bollocks. I’m going to find out the real reason and I have a feeling it’s something to do with infiltration and was probs told by his iman to go. He mentioned a few of them were going. When we were dating he had little respect for Christianity so I’m very sure there is something fishy going on and this is happening all over. Infiltrating government, churches, the army etc. it will be a stealth take over.

Why didn't Andrew challenge Calvin's outdated sexist views? He reminds me of a misogynist with views from the middle ages. This interview was far too chummy!

34:40 he says people were happier before but it's impossible for him or really anybody to know how happy or fulfilled people were when you can die at 20 from a tooth infection.

Why attribute miracles to Jesus? Thats so limiting. I cant help disliking this and rejecting it deeply. Everyone should connect to their own inner spirutuality or "godliness" Why the heck do we need intermediaries and a MAN to connect??? We Don't.

Although I call myself a believer and am somewhat conservative this guy is too doctrinaire for me.

Interesting as always, you cant deny we have lost something with the decline of Christianity that was the cornerstone of our culture and laws, what seems to be replacing it is a rolling disaster. So many cultural norms under attack with disastrous consequences.

I believe mistakes are important. We should raise kids to know this.

Andrew - as a jew I asked Jesus to reveal himself and he has - changed my life - he is not a scam he is the son of God.

Dawkins' assumption is that teaching 'rational thinking' will inevitably lead to the rejection of 'faith', but his own faith is in danger as christianity (or the truth for short) is eminently more rational than the belief that everything evolved from one chance event.

I love old myths, the Greek pantheon, the Roman and Celtic gods, the norse sagas, the Rigveda and so many more.
