That was great @andrewgoldheretics I would agree there is a war for the western culture, and woke will not stand up to Islam. Christian values that built western countries will not stand against Islam when so many are happy to use what it has created, without the discipline to pass it on to future generations. Calvin is right, a new world is being created while we are asleep at the wheel as we allow crazies and ideologues drive decision making.

25:58 white English Brit here, did 18 years in London from 2004 to 2022, it went from cosmopolitan to mainly Islam - at least in the NW8 area where I lived. Awful. Mostly Muslim migrants are able to be housed there, claiming close family ties to the are via previous immigrants, so they get the social housing in zone 1/2 area. The council are filled with their ilk, helping each other. Then those working pay thousands to live besides them (that was me) while they don’t work, don’t talk English, act as if they still live in the Middle East. Then the shops go their way, the schools are filled with their offspring - and you look around as a native white Brit and it no longer looks like England. So you leave….

34:25 Think Calvin missed the mark here. The second half of that Ephesians 5 teaching is, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her”, and “in this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies.” The church teaches male headship, but it’s the sort of headship that Christ displayed, servant leadership. Women aren’t being asked to unquestioningly obey a man who treats her like a slave - they’re being asked to respect and serve a man who in turn is giving up his life to serve her, putting her needs before his own. It’s a pretty radical ask - not what a bloke who just wanted to sit and be brought sandwiches would have written. CS Lewis puts it pretty well in The Four Loves: “Is it not clear that this teaching is most faithfully lived out in that man whose marriage is most like a crucifixion?”
@catherinehume9193
@catherinehume9193 Ай бұрын
Absolutely. The way I have see. It explained is as a perfect balance. The woman obeys the man but the man would rather die than do anything to hurt the woman so it is a perfect balance in the way people in the Middle East 2000 years ago would have accepted equality between husband and wife.
@RuthRandoms
@RuthRandoms 9 күн бұрын
I agree, saying we are here to serve men and not here to serve God, as a single woman am I supposed to walk around serving all men I meet??!! He hasn’t explained it very well and nor did he emphasise that women do have equal value to men - or maybe he does think we have an inferior role, many Christians do think we don’t directly serve God. We do.

It is called complementary, men should love their wives and wives serve the family and community under the leadership of their husbands. Feminism as a liberal ideology (meaning that freedom and equality are the moral centres) is not compatible with Christianity at all, to which slavery itself is not immoral but rather a temptation to it, in much the same way as any having power over another may be tempted to misuse it and thus must be restrained by morality. Christianity is hierarchical and patriarchal (God is the supreme patriarch and as a result the hierarchies imitate that relationship in form and function), it is a religion of bonds and responsibilities, not of freedom and desire.

Nah, I am an atheist. I have no trouble fiding truth, love and meaning in my life. But where many people go wrong is that they call themselves atheist and then think they can be done with it. With being an atheist and/ or free thinker comes the responsibility to think about everything, and to think well you need to inform yourself well. And to inform yourself well you need to read, watch, learn and much more. Not everbody wants that. For some people it is better to just believe in something, for others it isn't. Let's make sure that for the people who just want to believe in something, something good is available. But it is not the only way...

An old feminist here as well. People today do not understand the basics which we fought for. That we could not get a constitutional amendment in the US was only because of the time. What we fought for was needed. However, he did make one good point,, women today who choose to stay home and raise children are looked down on. I stayed home when my children were young, got my degree as an adult, and then went back to work. I was demeaned, berated, and honestly nullified as a woman .. by other women if I said I was a homemaker. If I said I was a trial paralegal applying to law school.. suddenly I was acceptable!! Unluckily even a good much needed idea can be taken too far. Sadly, in some ways it has. Women have the right to choose what path they take and should not be judged or looked down on because it's not the path you want them to take.

I'm the kind of old school feminist who believes both men and women should have the choice to stay at home with the kids or go out to work. If only our politicians , the Woke, the Elite and the MSM thought the same way, life would be so much better. I love Calvin, I always have, but there are so many points I've got to disagree with here. I'm white British. I'm also a conservative atheist. My family history is we were all from SE London. None of us were religious, we're just generations of working class londoners. None of my family are "woke" and my 10 year old son would even describe himself as gender critical. It's not so much that humans need to believe in something, it's more the fact we're tribal. We need to feel we belong to something. The rise of the woke hasn't coincided with the death of religion, it's gone hand in hand with the death of patriotic love for where we live. Britain has become a dirty word. You're not allowed to say you love Britain or you're proud of being English. If you say that the likes of James O'Brian start calling you a knuckle dragging brexit supporting gammon who loves being a coloniser. Now it's, take your flags down, say sorry for absolutely everything that's happened over the past 1000 years and pray that when you do an online DNA test you've got a bit of brown ethnicity in there somewhere. It's hideous. If you can't even be proud of your country then what are you left with? God can't fill that gap. But being part of a different club will

I have a Muslim ex. Very “religious” (but not had no morals and wasn’t spiritual but seemed to see Islam as a weapon of control). He recently started going to church… he told me it’s to learn more about Christianity and that helps him understand Islam. Total bollocks. I’m going to find out the real reason and I have a feeling it’s something to do with infiltration and was probs told by his iman to go. He mentioned a few of them were going. When we were dating he had little respect for Christianity so I’m very sure there is something fishy going on and this is happening all over. Infiltrating government, churches, the army etc. it will be a stealth take over.

Dawkins' assumption is that teaching 'rational thinking' will inevitably lead to the rejection of 'faith', but his own faith is in danger as christianity (or the truth for short) is eminently more rational than the belief that everything evolved from one chance event.
@teqfreak
@teqfreak 22 күн бұрын
I think rational thinking is essential, but it is just a part of the puzzle and not everything one can build their life on. I am an atheist / pantheist myself and a free mason. I reject any god concept other than the pantheist one. However I acknowledge that simply being rational and scientific will be insufficient to give meaning to life, wont make one find truth in the abstract/ human sense or leads to love. I respect anybody who think they can find it in a religion, for me personally it won't fly. But the most important is to work on yourself, see how you can find truth, love, and find a way that works for you and the people around you, while respecting everybody who does it differently. The most important is to have core values, and respect eachother. Dont judge people who thnk differently, try to learn from them and broaden your own view of the world, it will let you grow as a person and enrich your life. I don't think Dawkins himsellf was flawed in his rational thinking, it was right to give it attention. It was wrong of many people who thought that was all they needed.

This is another example of one religious person projecting his inability to imagine another’s unreligiosity and imbuing them with some hidden, lost, sometime to be found spirituality. I love old myths, the Greek pantheon, the Roman and Celtic gods, the norse sagas, the Rigveda and so many more. They can be readily enjoyed, retold, re-imagined…. what I don’t like is when 1500, 2000 or 6000 year old middle eastern myths govern the politics and ideologies of 21st century states and societies….
