Arsenal's goalkeeper situation has definitely been a big talking point recently. Who should start David Raya or Aaron Ramsdale and now it seems Arteta has made his decision. I believe Raya is the better player and should START through actions I speak about in the video, but Ramsdale is still a very good goalkeeper. Who do you think should start for Arsenal?

Your presentation identified some salient points for consideration in this goalkeeper debate. I agree with your conclusion. The manager knows what he wants from the position and how he wants it to fit in his ultimate playing style and he sees Raya as being able to execute it better now and with time in future. It's professional sports at the elite competitive level....no sentiments!

Raya is clearly the better keeper and suits the Arsenal way better. I just think the coach could make the situation less difficult by giving Ramsdale more game time. He can play against Lens for example or the last game of the Champion's League. He will play the FA Cup as well. We must also bear in mind injuries. Arsenal succeeded in the Arteta's first year because of the reserve keeper Martinez. Interestingly, when Ramsdale arrived, he was not given a chance. He was the keeper from the relegated team. If I was him, I would stay put but negotiate better playing time. I think it makes sense to play Raya so that he can improve his short game as the commentator said. We have also been disrupted by injuries and havent been flowing this season yet. Key players like Timber, Partey, Jesus, Odegaard have ben injured at some point. With a full flowing team, Raya will shine more with his short game and long range passing.

Even Ederson a top elite goalkeeper cost Mancity a goal with his pass yesterday but I still prefer Raya because he’s a sweeper goalkeeper

Raya was not bought but on loan from Brentford. Also, Raya consider 46 in 38. Raya's mistake against lens resulted in the first goal, his inability to command his area cost Arsenal a second goal against Chelsea, and Newcastle loss. Sevilla's goal in MD3. This is just a few games in 12 total out 33.3% error in his first 12. I will see how far Arteta will make it with him in the season. Raya was successful long passes because Brentford has a target man. What of his almost own goal against sevilla on match day 3?! Arteta said he brought him to have choices, due to error from southampton, Westham and brighton from last season. Soon Arsenal will see Us at anfield.

ramsdale is better, the premier league has just started and he has made more mistakes than ramsdale the whole 22/2023 season

Raya is far better beyond Ramsdale in long passing, but far more incosistent in crosses, short passing, medium passing AND 1 vs 1. Ramsdale was great last year in 1 vs 1 and saved us a lot of points. I think all of our GK decisions were false: Look at Martinez, Leno and now Raya. We have sold the best shot stoppers for peanuts and will sign permanently an error prone for 30m. Sth is going wrong in here! This year we play a little bit backwards when creating from the back, in order to decrease the chance of a transition. So Raya's long passing to Saka and Martinelli is more crucial to our game.
