I became a TON fan in 1996, freshman year high school. I kind of hid it though.. haha My friends only all listened to only Thrash, like myself. One day I came out of the metal closet, and said. I have to tell you all something. I love Type O Negative. Everyone was silent except one dude. Sticks his hand out to shake, and said I thought i was alone. Haha. It's amazing how that was huge when your 15. Love Type O, got me through some bad times, and always make Fall more exciting.

Glad you all found them, there are horribly underrated. I miss seeing them and hearing new music I was very fortunate to be able to be a part of the scene back then and get to meet the people that made amazing music. The 90’s were fun but Type O was so unique and different it was very richly layered and complex music at times with beautiful haunting lyrics. Really miss them it’s really cool younger people are discovering them.

Well said my TON brethren. Never got to see them live. There's Pete's bottle of wine next to his water bottle. I couldn't imagine being up there doing what he's doing. I'd need a bottle of Jameson and at least 2 5% alc. hard lemonades to wash it down, 2 30mg addies 5 hours before the show and 1 50mg ativan. I just visited his grave about a month ago in Farmingdale, NY/St. Charles Cemetery. I'll put up the video and you all can check it out. It's only 45 minutes away from where I live. PS 1 20mg add, 1 can 8% alc. Smirnoff ice and a lot of 'moke.

I saw a Type O Negative shirt in this all 60s and early 70s store in Reno and I always went in and I kept seeing it. It was like 140$ or some shit. It’s from they’re first tour or some shit. Idk fucking lame to max the price. But I finally listened to Black No.1 then Christian Woman. I watched the videos. I recently gave the 90s a chance. I had always been all 80s goth and anarchy punk with some New/Dark wave and psychedelic kinda kid. I started with Marilyn Manson and I shaved my brows off haha. Now they’re back. I always thought Type O was some shit like Creed or some trash. But I fell in love. Wolf Moon or Love you to Death I listen to everyday.

On the first chorus when Peter plugs his ear because his monitor wasn't loud enough and he was trying to hit that "hey wolf moon" real smooth like, there were bass note changes that he played with one hand, likely using a strong hammer-on technique with his fretting hand to make up for the lack of a pick stroke. Eric Knapp Because it takes more than just musical talent. These guys grew up in Brooklyn during the middle of the crack epidemic in the 80's and 90's. Back in those days Brooklyn was synonymous with darkness, criminals and the underworld. It took a special kind of background and life to be able to have that emulation in their sound and image. New York during those days was the true Gotham, the playground of the dark and gothic, the eccentric and weird. It isn't often that you can truly call a band so unique huh? haha!

Did anyone else get goosebumps around 2:32 ???
@rickhart72738 жыл бұрын
for me the goosebumps start right at 4:20 (not a pot reference by the way, being serious) I find myself just as entranced and over the moon for this music almost 20 years on. I listen to music everyday, from me, that is saying something. RIP PETER

One of my All-Time Favorites. Wolf Moon, she's more sad today... :( He was a great artist and a good person. I know he's in a good place now. He believed, and it wasn't too late. R.I.P. Peter Steele. Thanks for all those amazing songs. You'll never be forgotten...

I think ToN sound was very different from other bands.Peter was the actor of his own life into his songs.I hope you can understand what i'm trying to say. He really felt what he sangs,what he wrote.He gaves a real drammatic taste to his voice and It was unique and so good! I love looking his hands mooving on his bass.But he had some good pedal too. It's very sad how he get away his Life 'cause he always felt not good enough... Always in my heart.

My father has loved this band with his heart for so long, and he was the one to introduce me to such an amazing band. I will never be able to repay him for showing me such an artistic masterpiece of music. Rest in peace, Peter Steele.

I just discovered this live video 2 days ago, and I can't stop to watch and listen to it. Peter's voice is just unique and one of my biggest regrets is to never have had the opportunity to see them live. Nothing sounds like Type O Negative today Peter is eternal and truly missed !

I put off seeing Type O a few times when I was young, just as I put off seeing Pink Floyd and a few other huge talented groups, always thinking "next year". Until suddenly there were no more years because people died. Now, if I learn of a new band that I really dig, I fucking move heaven and earth to go see them, because, well, "everything dies". :( RIP Peter, you left a big hole no one will ever fill.

Peter was like an idol to me. I miss him dearly. Wolf Moon was my favorite off of October Rust. It's cool to see it professionally filmed and available to fans. I got to see Type O in 2003 when I was l5. It was such an awesome concert and they had Lacuna Coil open up for them! it awesome.

I saw that same tour in Ohio! Met Christina from Lacuna Coil and got the chance to tell her I had been importing their CDs from Italy for years at that point. An AMAZING show. Both bands were on fire that night! Great memories.

Saw them in Louisville Kentucky in 2008. Same experience. Place was packed so much so that we barely need to stand on our own and Pete's voice echoed through our bodies. Was wild! NEVER FELT a vocalist in that manner before or after that night. RIP
