WOLF RS-998 SDR Small Review

The RS-998 is surprisingly good. I was a bit skeptical at first, but then i was persuaded to buy it :). My device wasn't calibrated and I first had to connect a dummy load to antenna 1 (lower output) and run the "Auto Calibration" for the power amplifier and the SWR meter in the "Service" menu. I then made various settings, which I have made available for download here at the link below.
You can play this onto an SD card and then transfer it to the device in the “SD Card” menu. I hope i was able to give you a first impression of the device. I am very happy with the device. Great Receiving audio and also tramitting Audio is great with the original mike ! The only small disadvantage is slight HF radiation into the audio line of the built-in loudspeaker. But the radiation is not so strong, that it bothers me too much. Best 73 de Axel DG9BEY

Hi. Mine works fine sofar. Only a little rf interfeareance in Loudspeaker at Frequencys above 20 Meter at my radio. But I can live with that. Hope yours will be OK and you can enjoy the radio. Regards Axel

I think you are asking for the internal Antenna tuner.. And yes it has an internal Tuner and it works well!

What version of the firmware did it come with?

Just updated it to the newest Firmware. I think it came with 8.0.1..But not sure about the last digits. Now it's 9.2.1 and sofar it works fine.

Hmm normally that should be easy. In "WiFi Settings" choose the 2.4 ghz network you want to use "WiFi Network 1", then go to "WiFi Network 1 Pass" and write the password. Leave the meune and after a few seconds, it should connect automatically to your WiFi. Regards from Germany Axel DG9BEY

I can not get mine into DFU mode. I managed to connect to the internet by adding password onto an SD card and flashing to the radio. I will box the radio tomorrow and return. Do I purchase another one,probably not.

@@user-es2we1zk5p Try to get the firmware on your radio like shown on this video by Mike kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oMiodLVys53QYmg.htmlsi=fQeqyL_jUqM4zRiq In your case you need to open the side plate where the WiFi antenna is mounted and close the jumper, that is close to battery on the display board. Then start the "Stm32cube" programing software and kepp pressing the power button on the radio, during uploading the firmware on the radio. After uploading the firmware, take away the jumper and restart the radio...
