The feeling you guys had about the Archer arms is that the armor plates above the shoulders have been removed. That variant strips armor and I know some people wish the new Archer was narrower like the oldschool, so I stripped those off as a unique feature.

international players can buy them, unless you are part of the EU or were part of the EU i.e UK, these countries are missing from the shipping list all 27 of them, of course Barnes & Noble wouldn't comment on that part because they FAILED geography lessions with a score of "did not attend".

The Mad Cat got it name because the first time it was seen in the Inner Sphere (by Phelan Kell), targeting systems struggled to identify it based on its profile and kept switching back and forth between labeling it a Marauder (based on the arms) or a Catapult (based on everything else).

Regular Heavy Lasers give you more damage for more heat, shorter range, and give you a +1 penalty to hit in CBT. The Improved Heavy Lasers don’t have the +1 to hit but if they get hit they explode like a Gauss Rifle.

Creative Juggernaut is doing the Lord's work trying to start up some domestic high quality Batttletech miniature production. I expect they'll eventually be able to reduce their prices closer to the 10 USD per mini range, but it'll take a couple years to get there (and inflation could well see it never getting that low at all). I don't have my WD boxes yet, so I can't comment on the sculpts in hand, but I will gladly share my appreciation for the alternate variants for the Archer and Blackjack, and my initial impression of the Annihilator is that the thing looks meaty and dangerous. I wish they'd changed the Mad Cat to a D config with cSSRM ears and cERPPC arms (other configs would be fine, but I have a soft spot for the D), and the Rifleman AC10 variant would have been visually and statistically distinct from the baseline variant. All in all, I'm very much looking forward to getting my hands on this box.

I think the Blackjack in this box is a BJ-2 3050 refit. Its the one with the 2 ER Large Lasers and the 4 Streak SRM 2s. Really cool to have the alternate variant!

@@DeathfromAboveWargaming the C variant: Alt Config C A versatile configuration, the C configuration carries two LB-X Autocannon/10s. These can fire both solid rounds and cluster rounds making it effective in almost any role. The C configuration has two Medium Lasers and a Small Laser for close range defense. it was on sarna btw. Keep on delivering my daily dose.

Alternatively, and in accordance with the Wolf's Dragoons record sheets, it could also represent the clan refit wherein it is armed with 2 Large Pulse Lasers, and 2 Streak SRM 4s. Visually, both are easily represented.

Any time. Thanks B&N's broken checkout, I got you _two_ extras! --The main draw for the imp lasers are that they ignore a lot of the special armor rules-- Whoops. I was thinking of re-engineered lasers. I did get the Black Knight and while I think its decent, I will continuously complain about the packaging. That's a lot of scratch for something trivially smooshed in the mail. I skipped the Storm Crow and would have skipped the Black Knight too in hindsight. That all being said, if CJ does come out with something more near and dear to my heart like a Warhammer, I'd probably pick one up.

That Stormcrow of Matts looked pretty rough. Glad yours was better. Wouldn't mind that lance, although to be honest I prefer the giraffe neck of the MWO Annihilator to the pot-belly tapir look of the remodel. I've got plenty to be painting though, and if anything having too many sitting there unpainted demotivates me.

I love the spread of mechs in this, if only they'd found a way to throw in a light mech too! I guess the Rifleman's armor lets it stand in as a light....

I don't know who in Barnes and Noble pulled it off, but it's a master stroke. Selling an exclusive box set during a mass Exodus of new players to Battletech. I guess someone talked sense to the normally clueless Corporate suits in the upper echelons of the company...somehow.

@Death From Above Wargaming: Something I noticed about the Archer. One of them has wider hips, with the legs spaced out farther. Saw it on the turntable, wasn't sure if you guys caught that as well. Have you guys done a size comparison between the Annihilator and the Kodiak for scaling? While I'm waiting for my B&N pack to arrive, your video here, along w/ one of my ordered books arriving, made my day. And that box art looked amazing. Here's hoping that Catalyst will one day start churning out resin bits for players to kitbash stuff(such as autocannon or Gauss Rifle arms that can go on a Warhammer IIC or Warhammer).

Just when I thought I might get away without spending more money on CBT miniatures, you come up with this amazing video! The variants of the Blackjack and Archer are fantastic, the BJ-2 is one of my favorite designs. 2 Large Lasers, 4 Streak-2s and enough Jump Jets to bounce around like a rubber ball on steroids just so everybody at the table knows what's up. The other three mechs are very cool, too. Yet one more lance pack that's a no-brainer to buy. But please don't joke about mechs with stuff glued on the wrong way. I bought used minis from a guy online and he had a Masakari with the torso facing backwards as well as a Madcat MK II with the feet pointing to the rear.

At least I got the parts seperated without incident and the Masakari is now waiting to be painted (most likely in Smoke Jaguar colors).

With people paying $100 on eBay for the force packs, and roundabout $20 per mech in singles, I wouldn’t be surprised if $25 holds for the multipose ones. I don’t expect they’ll sell tons of them, especially once the shipping issues ease up and the regular force packs are easier to get, but I expect they’ll sell enough that they keep making small production runs. The people that hate monopose models really hate them.

I just sent my wife the link to this for a Christmas gift "suggestion". These all look fantastic and I really want to see them painted up! In your batrep videos, the Dragoons haven't made a showing to my knowledge. Maybe that will change with the addition of these packs. Hope you guys all had a great Thanksgiving holiday!

When I saw this boxset I placed a pre-order because I really wanted the variant poses of the Archer, Blackjack, and Rifleman since I mostly play Succession War Era. The Timber Wolf and Annihilator however DO have some cool uses! The additional Timber Wolf adds to the one that I got in the Clan Invasion Box. BUT the Annihilator becomes part of a FedCom Civil War Era (3062-67) Wolf Dragoon Heavy Assault Star/Enhanced Lance with the Marauder II, Nightstar, Axman, and Bushwacker, when combined with the other "later" IS mechs that I got as part of the IS packs thanks to Wave 2 of the Kickstarter Campaign!!! Good stuff guys!!! 👍

I was able to get a box of clan mechs in the UK to see the quality of these....they're great love the scale and the detail is good, they seem sturdier than some of the older mechs I own too :-) can't wait till they become more readily available...pity I could only find clan mechs my opponents are happy :-) I like how the madcat got its name though, scanner got confused between marauder and catapult...hence MadCat.

The C designation is usually for Mechs with C3 systems.

Sometimes! I thought the same but if you look at some, they are clan refits - Mauler C is the refit with a C3, but Annihilator C is a refit by WD using only Clan tech.

There is one LRM 1 but it is not called an LRM 1, it is called the thunderbolt missile. 20 damage in a single missile. I do believe it is an unguided missile but who cares at close enough range it'll do just fine unguided.

The box is overpriced at $5 dollars extra over any other 5 unit boxes. The Archer, Rifleman, and Timber Wolf are just reposes. The Blackjack is a slightly different model. The Annihilator is new.

The “normal” exchange rate is about $25 USD to $33 AUD. AUD is lower at the moment. IWM models are usually about $24 AUD if you can find them in Australia.

I don't know why but the painted minis all look terrible at middle distance. They look like they are poorly painted or something but up close, I don't see anything egregious so it's just some sort of optical illusion. Such a shame.
