Hearing the backstories, emotions, and experiences during and before this match makes it even more amazing to watch. I remember watching this live and being thrilled that you won (and how crazy everyone went when they realized why you had that now-iconic expression, lmao). I first learned about you when you were a guest in one of Aaron's videos (I think it featured a Charizard Y + Venusaur Pledge team?) back in 2015, and it's amazing to see how far you've come and how much success you're experiencing. I stopped playing VGC in mid-2018 after becoming incredibly frustrated that I hadn't won any events over four different formats. I got back into Pokemon when Sword and Shield came out, and started playing VGC again last month. I remember I was on Twitch and had your channel recommended to me in the sidebar. I didn't know that you streamed, so I immediately followed. A couple weeks later, I tuned into one of your lesson/lecture streams about "getting started in VGC," and your stream was the push that got me playing again. Pokemon was a huge part of my childhood, and being able to play it to this day and meet new people who share the same passion for it is an amazing experience for me. I know I'm not really anybody, but thanks for all the wholesome and honest content over the years. Your dedication to the game and its community really shows.

ya know, reading Jonathan's report, I realized how impactful a lot of the decisions made in this game were. Jonathan mentions several points where he talks about missing the obvious decisions, such as protecting in front of swords dance, when using eruption would have won him the second game, or how if he had just spent an hour to double check his spreads and fix his gengar's evs, he'd have a 25% chance to survive origin pulse in game two, meaning he'd have the ability to maintain weather control. It really is absolutely insane how much work is put in to be on that stage, and how deserved it truly is. Congrats Wolfe, I can without a doubt say that you've proven yourself.

Legit these casters are fantastic, there's not many esports where the casters can actually live explain to the audience the thought process that the players themselves are actually going through.

Honestly this was the first VGC match I ever watched, and I don't think I'd be so into the scene if it wasn't for this match. You immediately became my favorite competitor and I decided that half the reason I wanted to play was to battle against you ( as corny as that sounds) I was fortunate enough to battle you on the ladder this year where you made on hard read and smacked me, and I just use it as motivation to strive to get better because I try to set high standards for myself and I don't enjoy losing, so thank you Wolfey for really getting me into the scene that I have come to enjoy so much!

VGC is such a bizarre format to me because you can see Primal Groudon next to Primal Kyogre up against Raichu and Hitmontop in a world championship match, and the guy with the Raichu and Hitmontop wins.

This battle got me into vgc and is the reason I like it so much. The story, the commentary and above all that play and Wolfey looking at the camera, that was just *chef’s kiss*

This was the first world's finals I watched live and it was so hype watching live and really insightful watching it again too. This was the set that got me into vgc and really enjoyed it

Amazing video, the play by play commentary was really interesting. I love how a large part of the matchup between teams with Pokémon like Mega Gengar, Mega Rayquaza and the primals was the dynamic of Raichu vs. Manectric! The resulting Rayquaza/Kyogre lead was really cool.
