I was protesting at the university of Connecticut when our encampment was swept. 25 students were arrested, many of whom were also Jewish. Our protest was entirely peaceful.

Amen By it's disgusting abuse of the memory of the holocaust, and their constant dishonest conflation of antisemitism with anti Zionism, they are actually fuelling genuine antisemitism. They are creating the perfect conditions to drive antisemitism because people looking on at Israel's crimes are being invited by the Israel government to assign those crimes, not to the Israeli state but to Jews - because apparently the two are equivalent. The mendacity and callousness are infuriating.

If criticism of Israel is antisemitic, criticism of Iran is Islamophobic! Yet those who use that interpretation of antisemitism almost always cheer for more sanctions on Iran, let alone every word they utter in relation to Iran is negative and/or hostile.

Prof. Wolff, as always a voice of reason, and well thought out analysis. Biden's speech was possibly the most horrifying thing I've heard from a politician in my 44 years. The co-opting of opposition to Antisemitism as a defense for what is being done in Gaza is just awful to see. My understanding of "Never Again", is never again for the Jewish people, and never again for anyone else. All of the hate is just so pointless. No Arab is my enemy, nor is any Jew, or anyone else for that matter. Until we all stand together as one people, for each other, we'll never reach our true potential.

President Biden's "position" on Gaza reminds me of the old Firesign Theater question,"How can you be in 2 places at once,when you are really nowhere at all"? In my opinion ,his obfuscation on this and other vital issues is going to result in his being returned to private life this fall.I hope he wakes up and takes the stand against funding the carnage in Gaza ,which will get the support of the Dem base again,and more importantly stop the brutal slaughter in Gaza.

I wonder what Professor Wolff's views are regarding Karl Marx and Marx's own antisemitism. Conservatives, such as historian Paul Johnson, write that Marx had fantasies of Jews and capitalists exploiting others over money. Johnson and others point to the fact that Marx "hounded his family for handouts" and refused to actually pursue a career. This same view of Marx is expressed early today in an article by former economics professor Barry Brownstein (University of Baltimore) appearing in the conservative website of the American Institute of Economic Research.

one of the biggest problems i have when discussing communism with people that are not proper comrades is that they keep comparing basic quality of life metrics of places like east-west germany, north-south korea, or taiwan vs china. the problem is that anyone with phone can quickly look things up that directly refute the one true philosophy as taught by karl marx. how do we conceal these differential outcomes from the masses long enough achieve power over them?
