Dear Wolfie's Friends/Subscribers/KZfaqrs/Commenters Thank you so much for stopping by and watching and commenting, and making Wolfie and Snow's videos go far beyond just a video for friends and family that it was intended to be. Just a friendly note that I get a lot of comments across all of Wolfie and Snow's videos. Some make it to the comment thread. Some gets automatically put into the "Spam" list... While some are definitely spams, most are just harmless comments. It is beyond my control what KZfaq decides on its own what is spam or not. If you don't see your comment in the comments thread, please. It does not mean I've deleted your post for whatever the reason. There is absolutely no need to get rude and offensive about it... I will go through the spam list and reinstate and approve the ones that I think are harmless. But, there are literally hundreds of comments there. Just a bit of understanding would go a lot way. Thank you.

Snow and Wolfie are just adorable! I love all your videos! I have an 8 month old husky who also loves veggies and fruits as a snack and he can't get enough, lol. His favorites are apples, carrots, lettuce and kale. I started letting him eat fruit when I first saw Wolfie eating a whole apple in one of your videos, and he's been a happy pup ever since. Thanks for sharing your experience with us Joe, it is truly appreciated :D

***** You need to breed him. He appears to be very intelligent, also very healthy.
@ChannelJoeE9 жыл бұрын
Larkfeast He's smart and very cheeky alright. But, unfortunately, perhaps not the healthiest of dogs. He is very small for a husky and we think it's due to severe seizures he had as a puppy. Luckily, the seizures have gone away after about a year. But, we couldn't breed him lest he passes on that issue to his puppies... It's all well and good if the puppies go home with good caring humans. But, many, I fear, will just give up the dog for dead after first seizure. We were given the option of putting him down after his initial seizures as the vet bills quickly accumulated into their thousands. But, we just couldn't do that to the poor bugger...

Out of the 2 dogs, he is noticeably healthier and a lot more intelligent. As a behavioural scientist, this is very interesting.
@ChannelJoeE9 жыл бұрын
Larkfeast Certainly, Wolfie is far more outgoing and energetic. We adopted Snow, we believe, from a negligent owner. We picked him up from foster care, so we never got to meet his previous owner. All we know is that his previous owner was a Chinese uni student living in an apartment... So, putting two and two together...we are thinking maybe he got Snow as a "cute husky puppy", but never bothered socialising him or took him for walks, etc, as it was evident in him not knowing how to react to other dogs and pulling very hard on the lead when we first took him out for walk. And he has separation anxiety...although we've fixed most of it now. Also, Snow's a bit more older, so more chilled and calm. Wolfie on the other hand, has been a free spirit from day one... So, yeah... Haha.
@JessicaJordanful9 жыл бұрын
***** - You say Snow had separation anxiety. I too adopted a 4 month old puppy that has moderate separation anxiety. He HATES being alone. We do not have another animal. How did you help Snow get over his separation anxiety?
@ChannelJoeE9 жыл бұрын
Jessica Christopher That's why we brought Wolfie home, so Snow isn't alone. Depending on the breed, you could perhaps crate train your puppy to learn to stay in the crate the whole day... But I am rather against that idea since I think that only really serves the interest of the humans. ^_^
@JessicaJordanful9 жыл бұрын
***** He is crate trained - and usually does fine if we're in the house (he might whine a bit, but is generally okay). It's when we leave - he tries to escape - barks loudly etc. We tried leaving him out of the crate, thinking he might like it better, but he will potty several times in the house (it has to be anxiety - because he will never potty if we are home - he is completely housebroken). I ended up having to neuter him - which I did NOT want to do before he was 18 months - but I have to take him to doggie day care during the days I go into work (or I might come home to a broken cage and injured/terrified dog)- and they require dogs be neutered/spayed.
@larkfeast8 жыл бұрын
Its a chicken or an egg situation. Whether you notice these behaviours in animals which seek omnivore diets or it could be a result of eating different foods that increases intelligence.Regardless, as an omnivore, the brain has to grow and adapt to dealing with more and different food sources. Problem solving and social interactions are noticeably quicker than the other dog. These behaviours are also found in studies of crows.

Notice how the one dog smells first and the other dog just eats it? Could be the issue. It might not have a good sense of smell or taste. Should get that checked out.
@ChannelJoeE9 жыл бұрын
Ramona Leigh Don't worry. He smells things alright when I give them to him for the first time. He just seems to think "Whatever human is eating = good for me to eat". He has gotten a bit more picky since the video though. He's not so super keen on vegetables anymore... Hahaha... And thankfully, he runs away from mushrooms. (FYI, I didn't feed him mushrooms knowing how toxic they are to dogs. But we get wild mushrooms in our backyard and despite our best efforts, sometimes some grow unchecked. Wolfie ate a couple when he was younger, threw up and got sick... Thankfully he has learnt his lesson and won't touch mushrooms with a 10ft pole...)
@RamonaLeigh9 жыл бұрын
Thanks for replying. Huskies do eat fruit. My dog picks his own berries and jumps up to eat cherries from trees. It's not all that odd. My husky also likes carrots. Hates broccoli. The more they stay outside the better though because my dog just tore up some furniture cushions recently after 2 years of having him in the house. These dogs are so easily bored and it is not their fault. We are the dummies. lol I have to make my backyard more secure is all and then I can let him out longer without having to watch him. Thanks again for the reply. You have beautiful dogs.
@ChannelJoeE9 жыл бұрын
Ramona Leigh Yeah. We ended up spending nearly 3 full days to secure our backyard. We have a fairly large backyard with a massive perimeter. And we dug out the entire perimeter by about 1ft, laid down heavy duty animal mesh, pegged them down, put bricks on top and poured concrete over them. Knowing what huskies are like, we had to create an Alcatraz out of our backyard... Hahaha. Smart buggers though. We still had just a few "weak spots" near some fence posts where we thought we'll be okay. We'd run out of concrete as well. But then I got a call from my neighbours saying Wolfie was in their backyard. He had somehow managed to dig up dirt, dig up the bricks, dig up the pegs and pull up the mesh and squeeze underneath... Hahaha. Next day we bought more concrete to mend the hole. Since then, no escape from them despite their best attempts. : D

Hey joe e can you help me convince my parents for a dog? Im 11 and i have big house a yard and money (for food and toys) please help!
@ChannelJoeE9 жыл бұрын
anna kaczmarska I wish I could help convince your parents. Before I do, here are a few things you must consider before you get a dog. 1) Dog's life-span: Dogs live for good 13~20 years depending on the breed. I will be 30 soon and I will be 43~44 when Wolfie's time on earth comes to an inevitable end (sadly...). I had to be fully mentally prepared for this. You'll be in your mid-20s by the time the dog has fully lived. Think about this. 2) Responsibility: Having big house, yard and money is a good thing, but not everything when it comes to getting into a relationship with dog(s). (Note: I said relationship, not ownership.) If you get a puppy, there will be a month or so when you may not be able to sleep much, have to constantly clean up after him/her. You have to be prepared for this. 3) Responsibility cont'd: I don't know you, so I cannot say you are a such person. But, a lot of young people I know ask for dogs, but get over the whole training and exercising part pretty quickly. And often, the parents are left to pick up the slack or the dog gets given away, often put to death when he/she isn't adopted quickly. Think about this also. 4) Getting into a relationship with a dog(s) might be as serious a decision as having a baby, only that a human baby will grow up and become self-dependence and independent. The dog(s) will not. They will remain constantly dependent on us for food, exercise, love and care. Only you can answer these points as I do not know you. Having said all that, I'll say that having a dog(s) around the house can greatly increase one's sense of responsibility and diligence. You can't be a lazy person and be a good alpha "dog". They may also bond the family together. Our family bond has been definitely strengthened through our common love for our dogs. Dogs can also keep you very fit and my brother and I certainly benefited from them on our daily walks/runs. There are far more benefits to having a dog(s) around the house than the initial difficulties that may arise. If you're confident that you can see it through, I think your parents should look into bringing a dog to the house. If you're only going to get one dog, just don't get a husky, as you need a minimum 2. : )
@annakaczmarska15029 жыл бұрын
Thanks for advice! :)
@katyatayde9 жыл бұрын
Here's the thing, it's not even helpful having a big back yard, you know wolves? So huskys are mixed with wolves, and you know wolves can jump over fences and stuff, if you haven't heard, wolves are masters at escaping, that's why you always need to walk with them for their energy so they don't spend their energy on things they shouldn't..
@katyatayde9 жыл бұрын
But instead of a wolf its a husky, and like I said they shouldn't spend their energy on other stuff they shouldnt
