I made some of these claws (X-23, actually). I used Instamorph (i.e. friendly plastic) for the handles. Resulted in MUCH more comfort and precise holding of the wires leading to the claws.

Really cool. I imagine you could add some silicon putty and some clever painting to the exit holes on the hand to make it look like they ripped out of the skin, too.

Bending the wires is taking forever! The template wire doesn't work with my hands at all and I can't get it right. Any tips?

The templet size is off. I blew it up to 126% on a 11x17 piece of paper and it works.

Old how much all this cost, and I know it's not the same as making your own, but I bought a set of actual metal claws, which are sharp enough to stab through things, and they were only $15 including shipping. Just an FYI for people who don't have all the tools to make their own.

Hey, I was wondering could these be made out of a foam floor mat,if I reinforced it by running the metal wire up the entire length of the blade rather than just in the handle.

Great video Bill! Sadly, I'd make a pretty bulky wolverine. I got a much better body build for something like Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal :p But maybe I can use a similar process for something else.

I've looked 500000 tutorials of how to make wolverine claws, and this one, still looks the cheapest and easier one, I've watched this 100 times, and still i haven't made them, i have the wood the paint, the tools, but i still haven't made the flippin' claws? is there anyone as lazy as me out there?

This was a great non-rushed tutorial.:) I will probably make these eventually for a fan film, and this was great help. I subscribed! Can't wait for more videos, this reminds me of Backyard-FX:) BTW what did you use to cut the three wooden stacked wolverine claws at 2:18? That was the only question I had because everything in this video was easy and understandable.:)

i don't know how well they would hold up, but maybe gluing several layers of thinner craft foam together, then following this tutorial (kinda), they could work.

Wolverine is terrible. However, wood isn't going to cut much. Better make them from stainless steel.
