You don't cross the road when there is traffic..David Luiz tried to cross his path after the player had just crossed him...It might be the faintest of touches but when two people are running with some speed, a slight touch is enough to bring down the player...David Luiz knew what he was doing...According to the rules, absolutely red...No argument...I did not hear any of these guys talking about refs and VAR during their FA cup run last season...

@@LouChizzy Yup when you are an attacker once you enter the box and have someone runing behind you, just slow down a tiny bit, and shoot making sure you extend your shooting leg as far behind you as possible. Think there is a very good chance you will make contact with the defender and not only do you get a pen you get the opponent send off for free. People think diving, or looking for legs in the box, or shooting against arms is problematic, this is way worse than that and also very exploitable by sneaky attackers

It definitely is a weird situation that happened twice today with the united match too. If you tackle the player for the ball you get less punishment then if you obviously try to avoid the tackle. Some common sense should be brought into the refereeing guidelines. -united fan

I was so so impressed with Runnarson with 2 big saves after he came in. I can see some light at the end of the tunnel for the next 3 games. Then ............ suddenly he just gave a stupid corner from his simple passing back to Gabriel. OMG .... Suddenly the tunnel is so dark.

How you fix VAR.... no one makes a decision but the ref. if a game changing event happens that is in question (Red card or goal) and a VAR assistant spots the potential error he tells the ref theres a ''potential'' to alter the decision and the ref HAS to go to the monitor and view it and make a decision for himself. That way ONLY the ref is to blame for bad decisions.

Luiz didn't fall over until the Wolves player was clear and Luiz fell forward while the Wolves player fell back and did you notice he went to ground and clutched his shin? If there was contact it certainly wasn't on the shin.

Legit all players do this especially yours for eg Xhaka clutching his leg when he stepped on kovacic and tierney against chelsea it was a clear red and penalty

As a United fan I 100% agree, In Arsenal's situation today you could clearly see that Luiz let the player go because he's probably thinking look if he scores it's 1-1 at halftime, but if he goes for him that's definitely a red card since he's the last man back. And if Luiz goes for him it's the classic double jeopardy where you've now conceded a penalty AND you're down to 10 men since that defender was the last man back. Even today with United against Southampton Bednarek got a red card to put Southampton down to 9 men and I didn't understand the decision, they're already down to 10 men, the score is 6-0, just give the penalty if you have to, but why send him off?

Difference in wiping a player out and not making an attempt to do a tackle is that when you wipe out a player you have done a last ditch attempt to get the ball, but when you don’t make an attempt to do a tackle therefore you haven’t made an attempt to get the ball at all. Summary: Wiping out a player, an attempt to get the ball is made, Not making a tackle, no attempt is made

It was a penalty but there was no need to send off David Luiz. I'm a Liverpool fan but I support your view about referees. There's no consistency about them and the VAR, they favor some teams and hate others. Anyways it's hard to believe the referees doing harm to your team as your team as of past few seasons has been irrelevant and they offer no threat to title race or such.
