I didn't actually know that.... I had a grey female tabby about 15 years ago that just vanished one day.... She was a very happy cat and I miss her to this day.... I always had a feeling that someone drove by the front of my house and snatched her off of my porch... Then I would think to myself; "Who tf would steal a cat? And for what reason?".... Now that I've read your post I think it all makes sense.....

You must mean yellow tabbies or yellow girls in general, right? The yellow gene resides in the male chromosome, thats why orange cats are usually boys. Other colors are regularly female and not rare. Except torties are usually always female, male torties are very rare.

Ginger female tabbys are rare not the normal gray or jet black ones I belive the Ginger gene is on the x chromosome and females require both of their X's to have Ginger but the Males only on the X and not the Y

Great example of how to properly introduce cats. People tend to rush and underestimate the importance of the process. I foster lots of kittens and keep them completely separate for 2-3 weeks depending on the age. My own cats play under the doors and over time get the scent of the kittens. So when introduced face to face, it’s like they already know one another. ❤️

I had the best boy I've ever met (RIP Caesar) and he was the guy who would show new cats around the house and make them feel welcome. Things like that just made him the absolute best.

Not really. They kept her isolated way too long, it was totally unnecessary to deprive her of more love and company for that long. Two weeks in a garage and then three weeks in a room alone...there is no justification for that unless she was heavily symptomatic for an illness and required treatment, which she clearly wasn't. I really hate when people do this.

It sounds like ehy kept her in the garage initially until they could get her a vet appointment before bringing her inside for a bit longer to finish off treatment. I handed off a kitten my step sister found to a foster friend about a month ago and unfortunately he still has ringworm even with consistant treatment. We don't know what Nala may have had that could have put her in isolation but I'm sure they didn't do it on purpose to keep her away. It's natural and honestly better to be safe than sorry. Ringworm, FIP, FeLV is really infectious and FeLV is particularly nasty and has a night death rate

They can be very rare in some places, yes, but they're quite common in my neck of the woods. I adopted two from a shelter (who had come from a farm), and when I worked in rescue years later - hours away from the first shelter - we still saw quite a lot of them.

Gingers have a deep place in my soul. We had one name niña.. she was my mother's cat she was extremely loyal to my mother. All of my other cats adore her. My brother found her at 3 weeks old. . What a great way to introduce them. Thank you for saving her.

Bravo for giving this wonderful young cat a real home. Just an FYI for all of us out there who try to do this kind of thing ... I have had great results using a cheap screen door, ($35 or so from a big box store,) propped up in a doorframe, hallway or stairwell. It allows them to see and smell each other without the risk of injury. A few days of that has gone a long way for me in the past introducing newbies to the clan.

I will NEVER, NEVER, EVER understand why some people don't like cats!!! Cats changed my life!!! One walked into my life, just like this little girl did, and 10 years later I'm in Kenya working with Cheetah conservationists!!! Literally just one stray cat, that I named Jack, and he changed my life forever. Cats are extraordinary, intelligent, and it is so funny how they all do so many of the same things. That cat reminds me of my old cat which was a female tabby that looked like she was still a kitten but an adult, so that fact I was recommended with this video shows I miss her.

I had a very cranky, 15 year old cat. We introduced our two new kittens to him just the way she did in this video, except that, when we first let him see them, we kept them behind a mesh for a few day. As soon as he saw the little girl kitten, he gazed at her just like here. There was love in his eyes, yes, but, even more than that, he found her really *interesting*. He knew a few months before we did that she was the most interesting, adventurous, weird, intelligent, brave cat we'd ever meet. He adored her, and let her slow motion chase him all over the house (he was too old for anything but slow motion).

This is how it went with my current two kitties, too. My boy cat sat outside for weeks just waiting to meet her. He'd roll around and peek under the door. Never once was there a hiss or a growl on either side. When they finally met, it was the same way. They love each other. He can be a bit rough in his play, and she's super dramatic all the time, but they're wonderful together. I'm glad Diggle has his match.

Beautifully told and well recorded- she is the perfect match for your family! Happy for everyone. My two dogs love each other so easily - two females. One is much younger and I was surprised they pol to one another so well and the older one doesn’t ever snap at her or get jealous- which she isn’t tolerating to any other dog near as much.
