I watch Sezar Sanctuary and Takis shelter. Watching, and making a comment on any of these rescue sites helps the algorithm. So if anyone has a favourite rescue they watch, let others know. 💕🤗

Absolutely! My last 17 dogs (over my lifetime) have all been adopted by me from the shelter. Every single one of them was awesome and none of them had issues that weren't super simple to resolve.

Yes and no. I know friends that adopted dogs from other EU countries, probably street dogs that both been great but needed a lot of work by experienced dog owners and others that has been constant trouble, probably because they couldn’t handle a dog with issues. Some has had aggressions to other dogs, food or other issues that takes an experienced owner and training. Not all can manage that, but if they instead started of with a puppy of a breed that doesn’t take much to train and socialize they would be better off. So I would say adoption isn’t for all as not everyone has the time and skill to handle issues that the dog can have gotten due to a bad start in life.

People who say never shop always adopt are just being ridiculous. Seriously, sometimes it's not the best option. Be realistic, not an a-hole.

Hiznogood, adoption is for everyone, it is a matter of finding the right match for yourself. There are many puppies purchased from breeders that turn out to be neurotic, have physical disorders etc. Adopting or rescuing a dog is a very serious commitment and should not be taken lightly, if done correctly, making the right choice for you will give you and the dog years of untold joy !

I am a 24-year animal rescuer. I tell everyone to call all the rescuers groups in your area and offer to be a volunteer. They are needed so badly. Every little bit helps an animal. God bless you all. By the way, pass the word: " dogs and cats are Gods heavenly beings from His Angelical Realm" also tell people that they should always treat His animals Good cause I wouldn't want to be the one to piss off God .

This is exactly how I feel about a dog where I volunteer. His name is Buddy. He has been at the shelter for 3 YEARS (he's only 4 years old)!! I lie awake at night worrying about him. He is in my prayers every night. All my friends and family across 3 countries know all about him and his story. I would take him out on day-dates to beach, to a park, and try to relieve his kennel stress. I've pumped him on social media countless times. I bought him a fancy collar so he would stand out. Then I received an email that he was being transferred to another no-kill shelter last month. I cried for him every night. I follow the new shelter website and facebook to look for him. He still hasn't been adopted. 😭I have 2 cats and Buddy needs to be the only pet. If anyone is in the Gainesville FL area, Buddy is at Alachua County Animal Shelter. He just needs one special person to love him and be his hero. No one deserves a family and a good life more than Buddy. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

@@treythehardwaywith the black eye patches and white body with speckles, I thought for sure he would be part Blue Heeler, but I did his dna and he's 100% American Pitbull Terrier. He's only 44 pounds and doesn't have a very large head, so I was surprised. He has a crooked lip, and I find him to be so adorable. He's never had his very own person to love. He is only had shelter staff and volunteers and I taught him how to be cuddled and loved and give him neck massages and it makes him so happy. These dogs get institutionalized and it's so sad. I know his person is out there somewhere.

I can not believe the shelter when May came around did not put a hold on him until June so a woman who so selflessly gave hundreds of hours to both them and Otis was not made a priority.

@@toddstevens13with how overcrowded most shelters are, they're just grateful to have one less dog to care for so they weren't going to wait another month for a girl who had sort of been flakey about if she could adopt him. They were going for a sure adoption the month earlier. I don't know if you've ever volunteered or worked at shelters, especially no kill shelters but you're at capacity frequently and any opportunities you have to have an animal go to a home where the people are a reputable choice (even if not a first choice), you're going to do it to try to manage the space you have.

@@HouseMDaddict I have volunteered walking dogs, work with the cats at times, and if one of the approved volunteers where I was stated they wanted to take an animal and why another month was needed, it would of been worked out. Now if she did not step up notify, and even say I would pay for his upkeep until my situation at the end of the month, then I understand .

Of the seven dogs we’ve had, two were purchased one was rescued from my brother, and the other four were rescued off the street. They were all great dogs!

I love this sweetie !!! He has such a unique look, especially that cute nose. If it doesn't work out with the current adopter, make sure you take him home immediately. Let the staff make you aware if he returns. So easy to fall in love with this adorable dog.❤❤❤❤
