Unfortunately, you do need money to be in a position to help. It's just when you see money as your only goal in life to the detriment of humanity and animals. Striving for money with empathy is fine as you will always use your power, status or money to help others, without empathy is where the problem is.

@@11kwright while I mostly agree with what you say, I do have to disagree with the statement of needing $ to be in the position to help. I volunteer my time at a few charities, i help out at an animal shelter, I share my food with homeless & I help keep my community clean by picking up rubbish. All this is done without money.

In many poor areas people are so weary and disillusioned with life the last thing they care about is animals. In fact a lot of them see strays as pests, that’s why some governments commit mass poisonings sometimes. 😢

You have to make a different too. In your whole life you could rescue so many animals, that you wont look away nomore..because, for each single dog you have rescue, it makes a big different because of you. A lot of people eating cheapest meat, they look away when they see on tv the suffering animals and just keep on eating, they look away. They dont take responsebility. Dont be one of them, when you are 70years, you will feel guilty, and once you use to look away, there will be more and more thing, you do so.

I haven't, but i aspire to rescue 10.000 dogs and give them chances to live their best lives. It's seemingly impossible at this point but i believe i'll make it somehow.

I rescued 2 last week, and several more throughout my years but I don't even hold a candle to this couple. God bless all those that do God's will by caring for all of His creatures. All that are abandoned, ill, injured, hungry and domesticated, need us to help them live their best lives.

Do you know anything about Romania? Even people live in filth without money. Orphanages are in horrible, horrible conditions. Animal welfare is the last thing on their mind unfortonately.

we can help too. And, Romania isn't the only place doing this. Houston and Miami have notorious dumping grounds. And our country has a longer history of spay/neuter and animal welfare. disgraceful.

Amen to that. My family has had so many pets and most of the cats and dogs we start out with are ones that find their way to us from the streets. A few are puppies or kittens that we got from friends.

Pet parents need to be educated about spaying and neutering.

There has to be a better way ...as shelter refuse to take kittens as they are full too...but. Vets charge too much to fixed ..when you try to help these precious babies. @@Circlewisewoman01 yes spaying and neutering is more of a first world thing. they don't do it to strays in poorer countries like mine, so they strays makes more strays, creating a cycle. They also dont do it to their dogs, and the dogs go out and have unwanted kids.

Agreed. On the plus side, it's wonderful to know there are at least 402 good people who were able to offer a home to an abandoned dog. I wonder how many landlords refuse to let people keep a pet? I can understand setting a reasonable limit, but it must be unbelievably hard for someone homeless to find a place to rent when they have a pup.

But sure, when there is neglect and abuse, dear god, humans and animals are left wounded and perhaps that's what you're referring to, the right to not be overwhelmed or controlled by another in ways that are abusive to the other. And pets are so helpless too, right? Pets have alleviated my loneliness at times in my life, but they also are happy to be loved, walked, cuddled, fed, and kept healthy. It's symbiotic, like all love is.

But to be honest, unfortunately I don't associate Romania with Vlad, but with a fleet of old, white vans cruising the areas of Germany recently hit by the flood, stealing everything left. The German meat processing industry is relying on Romanian workers but it also seems that your country "exports" your unwanted minorities and criminals throughout Europe since joining the EU in 2007. And, to get back to the topic of the thread, there isn't a week, when no car full of sick and dying puppies is encountered, coming from the breeders in Eastern Europe. Of course it is not fair to throw this at you and be sure I don't hold you responsible for any of these things but you should not ignore those negative aspects.
