If women want to be in combat. Fine. But you should have to pass boot camp under the SAME standards as men. SAME run times, SAME pullups, SAME pushups. EVERYTHING should be EQUAL. They should have to be in FULL COMBAT gear and pick up a 6'2 200lb man in FULL COMBAT gear and walk none stop 50yds at a quickened pace. They want EQUALITY? Give it to them!

As a chic who delivered furniture and appliances for almost 5 years, women aren't physically built the same as men, physical jobs are easier for men, and women who disagree never have done those jobs. If women were half of the work force to do those jobs, there would be a lot less work getting done. Again, I'm a woman who has been there. It's rare to find a woman who can do physically demanding jobs, and I sure as hell don't want to do those kinds of jobs anymore myself.

I wish I was a woman so I can divorce myself, keep the kids and the house, collect state benefits, alimony, child support, have a live in boyfriend that officially doesn't exist and nobody checks on anyways and go to school paid for everyone but me so I can graduate with a fancy degree by the time my kids are 18 and make a great income. by then my original husband will be emotionally and physically alienated from his children, most likely bankrupt and close to homeless or even dead. Sound fair?

You can meet a suitable wife but maybe not in the traditional sense. I've heard stories of guys going to prison for unpaid child support and alimony even though they were doing their best to meet the payments. If there's a good chance you'll go to prison anyways, and women also like bad boys, you might as well became a 1%er outlaw biker. Biker chicks are more blue-collar and like to be dominated. Upper-middle class white liberal girls are usually pretty shit for relationships.

@Shannon I respect you, but did you have the same physical standards as men ...? You see the standards for entering military service are different from the very beginning, but there is no difference in salary, you have all the rights as a man, but also an easier career path compared to us. You see women often neglect what a man has to give a lot more to succeed. I don’t belittle women as well as men but when it comes to physical strength they are not comparable, the biology of men and women is different and to whom they should adapt and not be ashamed of it.

+Evander Women have very vivid imaginations. They imagined their husbands having massive fun and conquering the world with a harem girl on each arm - they never gave any thought to the work it takes to make things function in the world and the sacrifices necessary to keep the machine running. So women decided that they wanted to go to the moon and cure disease and fight bad guys and bears, etc., figuring it would be just like in their favorite Lifetime movie. But it wasn't. So then they focused on government and boardroom power and have been fucking up western civilization ever since.

In the philippines, women are allowed to enlist in the military but they have to go through the same screening than the other men. A lot of women give up but some women do get the honors. I think it's good to allow women to draft because those women that got drafted are better than some men who they beat. I would hate the idea that there should be 50/50 'representation'; whoever makes the best at what they do should get selected... not because they have a penis or vagina. I agree with gavin on the stats and how feminist arguments are terrible.
@joshs1820
@joshs1820 8 жыл бұрын
I think you're confusing being drafted with enlisting. Enlisting is voluntary, and in the US anyone can enlist (male or female) as long as they're of age and not otherwise disqualified (medically, criminally, etc.). Being drafted is when the government forces you into joining the military (typically into a combat position), and right now only men have to register for the possibility of a draft.

Women are not as effective at soldering, as men are. That's an irrefutable & incontestable, statistical fact. Women in the military does nothing but decrease the efficiency & effectiveness of the military. Female soldiers who HAVE completed weapons training, shoot only as accurately as male soldiers who have NOT yet taken weapons training. Women want to be in the infantry, but can't carry around 100lbs of gear. Women want to be in the artillery, but can't lift the 100lb 155mm artillery shells. Women want to be medics, but can't carry a 200lb man off a battlefield. Women want to drive tanks, but aren't strong enough to change tank treads, or quickly/efficiently load 50lb 120mm tank rounds. Women want to be in mortar crews, but can't carry a 100lb 81mm mortar (or enough of the 10lb 81mm rounds) Women want to drive supply truck, but can't quickly/efficiently change a tire or load/unload the truck, etc & so on. All this means that **someone else** will have to pick up their slack. That "someone else" = the male soldiers....and if the male soldiers are picking up the females' slack, that makes the male soldiers less efficient & effective. The job of the military is to KILL & to defend the nation. DELIBERATELY decreasing the effectiveness of our NATIONAL SECURITY.....all in the name of "Social Justice", should be considered an Act Of "TREASON"/"Aiding The Enemy". (& dealt with accordingly) However, females can potentially make fine military clerks, doctors & nurses, drone pilots, radar operators, communications operators, & even helicopter & airplane pilots. Just put them were they're actually effective, & (far) away from where they're NOT.

You are not physically strong as a man, but physical strength is such a tiny part, Should I as a white guy scream DISCRIMINATION because a black guy from kenya is 10 times as fast? its just biology. Meanwhile I have biological inclination to swimming. The same way women have their own privileges. You are better at people we are better at things. The only therapist that changed my life was a woman. The guys and male therapists just never' had hat emotional bond that I needed. With men I have loyal and trust, with women bond and nurture, care and in case of my gf its like she harnessed the anger and anxiety in me :D Always had fear of abandonment and couldnt form attachment, i just never trusted anyone fully. She tamed me like no one else would, no group of most loyal bro's would touch that repressed emotion. I just bottled it around them. I served in the Navy. Right before deployment ALL of the women in my group, all 9 of them got pregnant before deployment. Some of them by their boyfriends, some of them just went down to the local bar and had some idiot do it (some idiot that now pays child support). All so that they could collect a check from the government. That's where a HUGE portion of your tax money goes to when you support women in the armed forces. Obviously, this isn't all of them, but it is FAR TOO MANY. Women and the armed forces don't generally mix. Oh, and don't even get me started on the dependapotamus. Suffering more than their husbands that get shot at my ass. I once saw a veteran get thanked at Denny's for his service and his wife immediately said, "Oh, and what about me? I had to stay behind and wash his underwear!" Yes lady. Washing underwear is the same as getting shot at, getting PTSD, and having no one give a shit.

And here is what i mean. me and my girl friend was hired at the same company that worked with shipping books we would rip labels off and re stick new ones and re pack the books and send them off and for the most part we do have the same job but where there is heavy lifting thats where we stop having the same job i have to load and unload the trucks that come and go. and when they need new pallets to load boxs on to thats my job or what ever takes lifting or moving heavy objects but yet we both make the same amount and yes when it comes to needing someone to stay over to get something done before the next day the men are asked to stay and the women can go home. but they want the same money for the same job

Men are the young man, and society and women are the village. Feminism is getting so bad that soon, men will thoughtlessly draft women and gladly watch them suffer, all because of the abuse, Misandry, and attacks on their rights. Look what happened with #MeToo, because it will happen with combat.

I don't know about other jails, but the jail I was given a tour of by the Sheriff's office citizen's police academy strictly separated the women from men. So if women are getting sexually assaulted there, it's not by men(male officers are not allowed to be there without a female one. I personally think that is implicitly sexist, only because it doesn't apply the other way).
@LukasWeber64
@LukasWeber64 8 жыл бұрын
I think the fear with male guards alone with female prisoners is that there's a possibility that a male guard might try to rape a female prisoner. I'm not saying it's likely, but it could happen. (After all, if you were a rapist, raping prisoners as a guard would probably be a good strategy, because, while they do have some legal recourse, it's not as easy for them to prosecute as it is for normal citizens.) Do you honestly think, meanwhile, that it would happen the other way around? That a female guard would rape a male inmate? That's crazy-talk.
@c.d3002
@c.d3002 8 жыл бұрын
Kate Nelson Well, you can call it crazy talk but women can and have raped men. The fact that you only suspect the male guard to rape, and rape being a degrading thing, and this suspicion being because he is a man, proves a sexist bias. In the current system a woman can simply claim she was the victim. Due to the "believe her" ideology, it is most likely he would be assumed guilty till proven innocent.
@LukasWeber64
@LukasWeber64 8 жыл бұрын
C.A. Acred "Believe her" ideology is for rich, whiny SJW's who supposedly get raped in college. It doesn't extend to the destitute; to prisoners. Furthermore, I find it far more likely for a male guard to rape a female prisoner than the other way around, not because I think women are somehow more moral than men (or, for that matter, in any way mentally different from men) but because of certain practical, physical aspects of heterosexual sex. First of all, women are generally weaker than men, and it would generally be harder for a woman to restrain a man. Secondly, of course, men need to be hard for sex, and while it is possible for that to happen against one's will, I imagine it would be pretty difficult to deal with maintaining your unwilling partner's erection. These two problems together significantly complicate things for a would-be female rapist. Finally, even these problems aside, I think women are less interested in rape than men simply because having a hostile stranger's penis inside of you just doesn't seem enjoyable the way shoving yourself into a hostile stranger's body might seem to some people.
@c.d3002
@c.d3002 8 жыл бұрын
Kate Nelson Those are your opinions. I am not a rapist so I have no idea how one thinks, I would assume the same goes for you. The "believe her" is something pushed by politicians as well and has effected court cases to my knowledge and most importantly culture. Due to specific anti-sexual abuse legislation in prisons, it is not hard to put the spot light on a case of alleged or real abuse. Simply because something is easier for someone to do in theory(and that is again an opinion) doesn't mean it is more likely, because the cause of wrong doings are the people who do them. A good person will not do wrong, regardless of how easy. The scrutiny, at least at the facility I was at, is extreme. Men nor women get a job there to be rapists. It is entirely impractical and almost impossible. To assume the men are more likely to rape indeed assumes they are less moral, because it takes less morals to rape someone. You say women and men are mentally the same, yet you say the man deserves different treatment. Either they are different or they are not. You can have your opinion, but they aren't an argument here. To sum it up: They scrutinize men and women equally, assume they are equal, yet only treat the men with suspicion of potential rape. This being a degrading thing, the criteria being gender, and therefore it is sexist. And to be clear, no hard feelings here. I hope you are having a good day.

Although I completely agree that a paratrooper has a far higher likely hood of death to me, this is more or less a moot point; I personally respect all service men and women in general because they are all making a sacrifice of some kind for our country, a noble idea. like the saying regarding this very topic goes, all gave some, some gave all. Each and every service member is trained in combat and to lay down their very lives of necessary. It's part of the job regardless of the branch you're in. if you're not ready to fully commit to those notions you should not be in the service whether you're a man or woman. She was so short, a man had to go up the tail rotor drive shaft and remove the cowling, and take her hot oil samples for her. A pilot asked her to take his bags to the helicopter while he was getting the flight plan filed and she later hit him up for discrimination. She was worthless. Men and Women are "EQUAL" but we are different. We must respect these differences work together and live happily! I am a women. I was at home with my 3 babies, supported my husband in his 25 year military career and loved every minute of it! Initially my husband was skeptical of not having two paychecks in the home but when he realize the advantage of having me at home he LOVED it!!! I sewed my children's clothes, I made all of our meals from scratch, I was not stressed because I could manage my time, I stayed in top physical shape, entertained as he advanced in the military, kept a beautiful home, and was always ready for impromptu intimacy! imaging coming home for lunch and your wife has the kids down for their nap and she is wearing a negligee! I loved being at home for my husband!! Our kids are doing well. I donot believe in feminism. It is not a good thing. I am "EQUAL" to my husband and thank God we could appreciate the differences! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Ten year US Army Veteran with combat experience. Here's the deal. If women want to be equal in the military, then they should be held to the same physical standards as men. Currently the US Army Physical Fitness standards that are used to cite whether you can even be in the military are considerably lower for females. Push Up standards for a female 17-21 years old is 19 bare minimum. Males of the same age are required to do 42 minimum. If you want equality, let's start with the bare minimums for entry qualifications.

Wow, I thought they'd changed that a bit by now. I was in during the early 90's and thought their standards were pathetic. Now I'm almost 50, bad shoulders and 40 lbs of adipose and I'd rate as 'outstanding' fitness if judged by those 17-21 female fitness standards. These women don't need to be superheroes, but if a typical fat middle aged guy can outclass them then how the hell can they perform in any kind of combat situation?

Feminists are turning things in the WRONG direction. No sane woman would want to get into combat. I'm sure lots of men don't want to go into combat either. I've met someone who is in the army and he dreads another war, because war is is extremely horrifying and traumatizing, and in an ideal society something no human being would ever have to experience firsthand. It totally ticked me off when feminists were on this women in combat thing. I don't want to be drafted or have to apply for selective services. I wish it's something a lot of young men didn't have to endure, if they don't agree with the war, tbh.

No one can argue that women do not have the same opportunities as men in today's society to pursue what ever it is they want to. Equality of opportunity never has, nor ever will, translate to equality of outcome. I am all for equal opportunity for everyone, but, not in favor of forcing an equal outcome. Feminists want all the same, actually more rights than men, but don't want the same responsibilities (sentencing disparity, being excused from the draft, alimony payments etc). Rights without responsibility is privilege.

Men can barely handle the abuse of combat jobs, so the idea women (other than Brienne of Tarth) can hack it is insanity. I've been in field artillery for 10 years; I have very little cartilage left in my knees and ankles. There are three Sergeants in my howitzer section, including me. The other two, one just had a neck surgery to have a cadaver (yes, a dead person's) bone inserted into his neck to replace his busted one. The other SGT has screws holding his shoulder together. My last Platoon Sergeant was removed because he had a cadaver knee joint put in to replace his. This guy is a 6 foot 230lb monster country boy, and his body is broken. Women will think these jobs are awesome, until they're crippled or dead.

Terrence Popp once discussed how, as an infantry grunt, he ordered a woman to pick up a 50 caliber rifle or, "the pig," and get to shooting it at the muzzle flash at the edge of the treeline during a training exercise. The female soldier replied, "First Sar'nt, that rifle weights 180 pounds." Popp said, "And?" "I weigh 130," she concluded. Translation: she was too physically weak to do what the weakest man on site could easily do.

Bam. You said it right there. "Women want to be treated like equals, but they also want to be treated like women". Newsflash women: we take it easy on you. When a man complains, what do we say? "Stop bitching". What do we do when another guy pisses us off? Beat the shit out of him. When a guy is running late or being lazy. "Get your ass in gear". When we beat him at something. "Loser". Men have absolutely no rights between each other. Sure, we try to not sleep with each others girlfriends. But everything else is fair game. You want that promotion? How about I steal it from you? And we're still friends. Its understood that men are first and foremost, in competition with each other, are basically enemies before friends. Does that sound very nice?

I can use 'glass coffin'... I like that. I'm South Korean, and in South Korea's law, it says: All people of South Korea have to protect their land. But in reality? all 'men' go to army and women..... do nothing!! hello? We are technically in war, you know? but no, women don't want to join that duty at all! Men in Korea spend two years to serve the country, and all we got in two years is some penny! and not like USA, people here really don't respect that and advantage for going army is really small. While men do duty of citizen, women they travel the world, preparing for job! they use those two years having fun! and while they having fun, they complain about men's 'advantage'...... damn feminazi...

I really don't understand the feminist mindset. They seem to want to be allowed to do what men do. As if what men do is the be all that ends all. It's as if they are exalting what men do and saying to be fully idealized women is to achieve, or copy, men. Doesn't make much sense. Blaze your own trails women, forget what men are doing. Do business and economics and government... in a way not like men. Just copying men isn't going to get us anywhere.

The next time I saw her, I was going through Ranger school and she had gold bars on her shoulders. So glad she didn’t recognise me. I wouldn’t follow her into the bathroom let alone combat. If women are selected for the draft then they can face the music and stand on the front lines.

Here's a fun solution. A woman absolutely and always has a right to abort a pregnancy, but should their partner not desire to do so they are capable of signing a form expressly stating their wishes. This form waives any potential requirement whatsoever for the partner to provide alimony or child support. I'm pretty sure this addresses the main sticking points on both sides, and makes having an unwanted child completely equitable. (Those who have and want the child are those who are solely responsible for it, as having children is purely a choice).

"I really don't like feminists but a woman has to have the baby for 9 months that's a long ass time it's her choice" 9 months = long time??? Nah, not really. That's not even a full year. Compare that woman to the people who raised her and spent at least 15 years on her sorry ass. No pity here. If it's your right to put a hole in the head of a baby, it should be my right to put a hole in your head. I can guarantee you that I can justify it economically and by what would make me happy and more successful. c: Really the issue though is that not enough women are being offered hysterectomies. If they don't want to be mothers, just take out the mothering parts and let them have at their equality. Not the baby's fault that the woman's an idiot.

I totally agree that we should have a draft for both men and women. It would stop the USA from going on insane foreign military entanglements, like Iraq. ======= I also agree that anyone (man or woman) should be allowed to serve in any military role, if qualified. The USA military has changed its tune. It has been defining what are the MINIMUM requirements for a particular role. Instead of assuming that a 6 foot, 235 lbs man will be doing it. Not all men are that big, most women are not that big... With modern tech. military systems, there is a role for everyone. Extreme physically is no longer needed. ======= Most military systems can be designed more effectively for smaller people. If a system splits in 10 150 lbs pieces, maybe 20 75 lbs pieces is better. After all, if we designed for gorillas, the 300 lbs pieces would be too big for men...

I am going to start of with some reality: Women often have the stereotype of wanting to have children or wanting to stay home, that is why they tend to not be chosen for higher positions. I live in Japan, and while it may be an extreme example, all of my female friends has at least once been asked during a job interview questions as "When are you planning to have children?", or "What is your opinion on having to take maternity leave?". Also, many women in Japan are pressured, to the point where you could almost call it forced, to resign if they ever become pregnant. Many women who announces that they are engaged and are planning to get married gets asked by the boss "When are you going to resign?". Just because you do not see it does not mean it does not exist. I think you missed the point about feminism, it is not about women avoiding dangerous work while claiming all high-paid careers. Because lets be honest, no one actually wants to work at a place dangerous enough to kill you, be it a man or woman. Also, every man and women wants to succeed in life. Instead, feminism is all about giving the same treatment and rights to a man who is in the same situation as woman, and vice versa. An example would be the above situation speaking about the challenges Japanese women face during job interviews. If we have equality, then either would men be asked the same questions as women, or women would not be asked these questions at all. Also, feminism is an important concept for men too. Finally men who wants to take maternity leave and stay home with their child can. Men who wants to succeed in women-dominated careers can. Men who are raped and sexually abused would finally be able to go to court and win. Women can wear male clothes and men can wear women clothes. We can because we are equal. Lastly, the people who work at these dangerous jobs are usually the poor working-class. Why these people are mostly men is another problem altogether, and sounds like something that someone needs to do some research on. Maybe someone could write an article with the research question: "Is inequality forcing men to take up dangerous work more often than women?" If "yes" is the answer, then I believe that Feminism can be used as an important tool to help improve the life of these men. I encourage men to use feminism to stand up for their rights more.
