Human Rights groups in the North Rift region have called upon the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions(ODPP) to intervene by conducting an investigation of all prosecutors and pro bono lawyers following a massive outcry of unfair representation in courts from women inmates at the Eldoret GK prison.
Speaking at the Eldoret GK Women Prison after a legal aid sensitization program, Centre for Human Rights CEO Nick Omito said they had established through the inmates complains that pro bono lawyers allocated by the government to represent the inmates don't appear in courts and some even demand extra money from inmates.
