@jimmuchmore5854 2 жыл бұрын
@@mikelenbody9691 I said that he ran 9.4 seconds for “100y” which means “100 yards.” In the 1960’s, when O. J. was competing, U.S. sprinters almost always ran races that were measured in yards, rather than meters. Because a yard is shorter than a meter, times in 100y races will be faster than times in 100m races.

@@steveturner609 A little, but considering that all elite athletes these days are on PEDs it means that even IF Flo Jo used drugs she was just way better than everyone else including today's sprinters. She was obviously a genetic freak and did intensive work on her sprint mechanics which gave her a fluid, big lower leg action, graceful stride. She also underwent an intensive weights program. Those were sufficient to explainher greatness. She never failed a drug test.

Nothing incredible about it. Drug testing rules changed by 1989 and even as I child I recall press commentary questioning her retirement for the very reasons you said.

OJ originally suggested they carry knives instead of batons as it might make the recipients run faster but years later NBC edited it out of their broadcast.
