They put the music while they were editing the already shot video. The editors knew everyone in the video likeed it so they put hype music. They put upbeat music for upbeat happy results and reviews from people. It wasnt a biased opinion. Ppl were happy so they put happy music. Like in a sad scene in a movie they put sad music not happy music. Its the same thing...

I'm confused...everyone said "oh, this color is way to bright on me" with pretty soft colors and when fenty came along it was "wow, this looks amazing on us all" when it was the most extra color of life...makes no sense

The reason Rihanna’s brand is so hyped is because they launched so many shades and undertones of foundations on their first. Try. I can’t think of any other company who has been able to do that on the first launch. And she continues to come up with more shades for concealer, lipstick, etc. Not only that, but the revlon color and the gently color have way different undertones. So it does make sense if you’re knowledgeable of them. People have different undertones and some colors look better than others because of that.

Usually a medium to dark red with a blue undertone looks nice on everybody. Not to be mistaken with a red with an orange undertone. Good Luck Ladies. 💋

Even I thought that too. Orange or pinky reds don't look good on everyone, but slightly deeper reds with blue undertone looks good on every complexion also given that it makes teeth look whiter. They chose the wrong shades of red here to include in a one-shade-fits-all video.

i feel like they misunderstood the point, its not supposed to be something you are gonna wear everyday dear ladies, the point of the video is to show that certain shades can fit every skintone and all of these do! noone cares about your personal preferences and if you like pink or purple on your lips or not.. we just wanna see the damn lipstick on your skin tone. all these lipsticks literally fit all of these women amazingly, i dont care about their opinion towards them wearing it everyday or not lol

The Fenty lipstick was very nice, but I honestly feel like there were a couple others in the video that looked better on all of them. I just don't understand why they were over hyping it. Maybe next time they should hide the brand, so it can be a more honest reaction.

The Fenty is totally worth the hype IMO. I got it for Christmas and wear it all the time. Even my mom likes it and she hates lipstick especially red lipstick.

It was the only one I actually disliked on any of them and I wasn't a fan of it in all but maybe two (and it just looked like paint on lips?? In not a great way) so right away I was just.... "Sponsored?" because they ALL hyped it. That's not just a personal preference.

Yup, seeing as how the music changes to something more upbeat, most of the whole video is about Fenty, and how the just briefly went through some of the other brands. It's so obvious and it's embarrassing how BuzzFeed didn't cover it up. It's so blatant.

Rare Pearlz you have to find the right shade of red and experiment. For me I like the Stunnas/Ruby Woos Blue based reds. Dark reds make me feel old. And it can’t be too pink. There’s a shade of red for everyone. You just got have that confidence to pick a red up put it on and when you find your red it will be magical. My favorite red lipstick is Stilla liquid Matte in Beso. I would have never picked it up in a million years got it in a Birchbox and it’s been in my makeup arsenal ever since.

Rare Pearlz Reds will have different undertones. There are reds that are more orange-y and have a warmer undertone while there are blue-based or cooler reds. It's a matter of finding out which works for you. I do think there are also reds that are a bit more neutral and can work for everyone

I actually thought that the glossier one also suited everyone along with Fenty. Smashbox was good but not great color for everyone and revlon also looked good but not like perfect but eveyone looked good with berry lips and the stunnah. I wouldn’t put it past buzzfeed to subtly push Fenty though. They immediately went wow! Great! When infact the previous less bright Revlon was too bright for them.

Not trying to be rude but I don't understand how so many people in these comments don't understand undertone. The Fenty lipstick is a blue based red which is the most universally flattering red, and it also has a good formula. The Revlon does not have a good undertone ands looks cheap and dated - like a lipstick someone's grandma has kept in her purse for 10 years.

Kaila Evonne I was thinking that. Even the Asian girl was pretty pale. I'm Chinese and defo more yellow toned than her and I find it REAL hard with colours coz most things aren't made with us in mind.

Mary Korten i’ve heard the red hair is really hard to color match with, i’m sorry if that’s the case :/ i’m mixed so i have tan skin with cool undertones and it’s odd because i’ve never found a foundation that fits me. i usually go dark nudes for lipsticks because if i go lighter or bright or unusual it looks super weird. i’m glad that through this comment i’ve found people who can relate though!

No hate ya'll, I love Riri and Beyonce but I just don't agree with people just worshipping them and saying "They could do no wrong." I wouldn't mind if they meant it in a funny way but I feel its about time you called them out. They're human beings too. This is the kind of following that political leaders and dictators prey on. Don't do that! That lipstick LOOKS great but it is so hard to put it on. It is so thick and so pigmented and it also felt like someone cemented it on me. It is just my opinion. I wouldn't wear it just because I love Rihanna.

Fenty is definitely overhyped because of Rihanna. Had this been another brand owned by someone else people would be yet to discover it. I commend Rihanna for her brand, but the constant dickriding has to stop. Fenty is going to make some mistakes, some products will be hits others are misses. You can't say anything bad about her brand without people getting overly mad and they haven't even tried the product themselves. Notice how the girls in this video say they don't like the Revlon shade but it is almost if not the exact shade as Fenty! It's ridiculous.

CoCo Rihannas name plays a big role in the brands success, I agree with you on that. But it seems as through you're completely forgetting the other major reason for Fenty's success, diversity. Did you forget about the shade range? Did you forget that trophy wife and stunna were made with everbody is mind? This is the first time a brand has put so much emphasise on inclusividy and diversity while still having a majority of good products. It may not sound like such a big deal, but for a lot of people it is a big deal because they're finaly being recognized and that's a good step in the right direction. I don't think that should be looked as "overhyped" but as examples for other companies to follow. The company just started it still needs time to grow and develope, I wouldn't be so quick to throw it under the bus yet. It's done well so far.

I feel influencers should be transparent about earning money off product placement and a blurb in the description is good but it isn’t enough. Disclaimers in the video make wayyy more sense and the only reason I can see them not doing this is to appear less like an ad. Just my two cents I have no problem with them making money just how they do it

It's not a coincidence that the first lip tints were all red. Back in ancient times and up until the 1970s (rough guess), the sole purpose of makeup was to make women look younger, healthier and more fertile (except for artists, performers, gypsis and prostitutes). Only recently there has been the development to more extravagant lip colours for daily life as another way for people to express their personality and style. So in short: In our very crude heads, red lips mean health and fertility, so they look good to us.

I'm gonna argue that at this point orange actually is a safe color to most people. at least people with warm undertones. or anyone who is into makeup. makeup haters and people afraid of makeup might not know the power of orange but it's been well known for years to the beauty community and is actually a hugely marketable color. grey and blue though I will give to you. those are pretty intimidating to step out in.

On platforms like KZfaq, the creators legally have to state that they are sponsored by that product throughout the video. So unless they're just breaking that law, I would say no it's not sponsored. People just like the Fenty brand and have a lot of bias in their favorites.
