On the third episode of our show #WomenWeLove #RajeevMasand talks to #SushmitaSen who, 25 years ago, was crowned Miss Universe, and who has gone on make unconventional life and career choices - including adopting two daughters as a single mother, putting her acting career on hold to raise the girls, and living and loving openly without fear. That same defiant, rule-breaker spirit ended up saving her life when she was diagnosed with a debilitating health condition.

I love how she politely but firmly corrected Rajeev “ I like the word underdog than the dark horse”. There are some of these words and phrases with racial undertones, we people need to throw out from our vocabulary completely.

There's nothing racist about calling someone a dark horse. It's just an idiomatic way of saying that a person has a surprising skill or ability that they have kept everyone in the dark about - a phrase that, in fact, has positive undertones to it. Please google what it means. You are the one making an erroneous assumption that being called a dark horse somehow had a negative connotation in this interview. I didn't get why Sushmita herself didn't want to be referred to as a dark horse because it looks like she too associated "dark" with something negative. Would you have called the interviewer "racist" if he had used a phrase with the color "blue" in it instead? We should stop being snowflakes and drag race into everything.

We cannot become so politically correct and effete as a society to throw out the word dark from the vocabulary just because it connotes a particular shade of colour which may or may not allude to racial discrimination. Well then what would you call dark things and people? The origins of the Political Correctness (PC) movement was well intentioned and it has sufficiently served it's purpose. Let PC die naturally now. When you forcefully keep a practice alive it only means it is being weaponised for profit.

Some 12-13 years back, when I was in grade 4, my maternal uncle was assistant art director and the production house he was dealing at that time had Ms Sen in their contract. So he had contact number of few actors and actresses one of which was Susmista's. I asked him to share her number for I would just drop a casual message and also assured I wouldn't share it with my friends. I dropped a text message saying, I would like to know the name of the child she has adopted for some kind of Bollywood question answer quiz we gonna play with friends. And to my surprise she replied within like 5 minutes.."Rene :) " . It made my day. Big bollywood star replied to me with a smiley. I kept that message and used to show it to all my friends until one day that phone was dead and I no longer had that message. But seriously Ms Sen is gem of a person. And about her illness what she shared in this video, it just inspires and let people believe in the divine power, the ultimate hope. And makes us wonder there is something just more powerful..more powerful to even defy the Science. It's makes us believe in ourselves, in God..in magic that if there's a will, there's a way and never give up in our life.

i think its sad that feminism is so mislead, that even after this revolutionary word coming out, people managed to stack up their fears and insecurities and act of shaming...its even sadder when a women itself makes divisions within the range of feminism..i dont think any women(mostly) talks about feminism and thinks about smoking or one night stands...women who are daring enough to do so wouldnt even need to use the feminism word..its actually more about gender equality rather than being an out of control bull. it would rather be best if guys are taught to stay within the limits and then may be girls could know that okay smoking and other shit arent that cool...why isnt a girl's mistake considered? if a guy can rape and be excused for being under the influence of his hormones... feminism is about giving girls a break from "oh girls should be this and this is strong or brave or any shit". as long as she isnt hurting anyone she can just be herself and nobody needs to put out rules for them as life is already pretty tough for them and they mature way too early(especially with all the harassments going on). with due respect to Sush who is really brave i dont think shoving the feminism thing here is logical.. it would be so great if boys were taught how to be and this misunderstood blunder would never be needed

I love her warmth. I like how she kept smiling even when she was talking about her illness. She is so humble. I think Kangana needs to take notes because she brags too much. Look at Sushmita even though she didn't use nepotism and went through hell, still she didn't lose her warmth like most successful people do. And I think Rajeev is quite special since Sushmita stopped giving interview for more than five years.

While the universe has stars Ms Sushmita Sen is like a brilliant flash of a comet. You may see it rare but the brilliance of its light is a spectacle and how. I feel so lucky that I lived at a time when I was able to witness this trailblazer! Watching this interview , I am absolutely sure that her legacy to the world will be to live freely and love with a big heart. RESPECT and thank you Mr Rajeev for this amazing interview .
