To think that these talented women make such outstanding works of art without buying $1,500-$6,000 sewing machines; or having to purchase a $7,000-$15,000 long-arm quilter, or hundreds of dollars of quilting accessories. The ladies of Gee's Bend have been making these quilts for hundreds of years. Finally, they benefit from their talent and skill.

The Quilter’s amaze me. The quilts are fabulous & so happy they are being shared. Terrific that so many museums are now exhibiting them & sharing with the world. May they continue with their artist craft.😊💥😊

I’m watching this wonderful video from Perth,Western Australia. Like our beautiful indigenous women who pass on their stories in paintings, these ladies are being recognised for their quilts which truely are works of art. They tell a powerful story.

YES! I still have several of my grandmothers quilts. She was born in 1919. So thankful to have seen her hands sewing these fabrics! LOVE

The amazing journey of the Gee’s Bend Quilt Guild in Alabama. These women are truly inspiring to me. I hope you got as much from this documentary as I did. It’s full of history some of which is hard for me to swallow. What a hard road these woman have had to follow but now they are making their own roads. Praise you Jesus!!

I heard that a city slicker discovered them, paid pennies for the art and took it to a big city gallery. Essentially ripping these ladies off.
