Won Bin won the Best Actor Award at the 8th Korea Film Awards on November 18, 2010 for his performance in The Man From Nowhere, presented by previous year's Korea Film Awards Best Actor winner Kim Yun Seok. He got teary-eyed when he thanked director Lee Jeong-Beom.
Translation of his acceptance speech:
Kim Yun Seok: The Korea Film Award for Best Actor goes to....the youngest Ajeossi(Mister), Won Bin!
Won Bin: Thank you.....man...To be here standing in front of my seniors just feels like a dream and it also a very difficult position. Thank you for giving me permission to come here on this special night. (Then he thanks people like director Lee Jeong-beom, producer Lee Tae-heon and his fighting coach Park Jung-ryeol).....though she is small, she played a big part our Sae Ron. You worked really hard. It was a pleasure to be able to work with you all. Lastly, I want to thank our viewers that made our movie shine that much more. Also, to the fans that kept me from being lonely as an actor and always cheering for me, I want to thank you....Thank you.
