You are so correct I promise they won't ever show where they make drags with unwanted bycatch.A trawl is an indiscriminate killing machine and some electronics will help them understand what they are catching but not to the degree of unnecessary slaughter.

It is nice that we have advance technology although there is also always a cursed side of it. I really hope we are NOT over farming, this video is showing a massive harvest that is probably done EVERYDAY by many different ships... though I really hope not. I cannot help but wonder if this way of farming really sustainable for the long run? How long do human have until when there will be no more shrimps, fishes, or an foods left to eat in the future? Not only these animals have to deal with mass farming, their species have to survive all the toxic chemicals and plastics we human continuously dump into the ocean that causes the rise of acidity and carbon dioxide in the water, we also reduced their foods sources as we continuously destroying corals and living environment in every corner in the world. I can only hope all these are done in a very controlled manner that is respectful and grateful to mother nature; it is the only way we can survive to the end as a human species on earth.

Shrimps are abundance. The key is to develop the market demands, and keep the money flow for the industry. Texas gulf now has "Tiger Prawns", an invasive species that are much bigger in size. However, these tigers self have high economic values, they are sold for $24 per pound and a 3-prawn tempura appetizer in a Japanese restaurant can cost $16.
