Someone above made a good point, wonder of u is the flow of causality made manifest from Johnny’s actions of abusing the corpse of the Emperor. It attached to Toru, but it’s not rooted in him. It only becomes diminished but it doesn’t die. It’s the part of Love train that sends the misfortune to other people

@@Cappuccino_Rabbit Spoilers I think this is part of the implication that Wonder of U was always a small part of a greater phenomenon innate to the world and that didn't really need Tooru to exist, most likely because it came into form back when Johnny Joestar used and abused the Holy Corpse to try and get rid of an illnes from his wife/son, but this is even more into the realm of speculation. The consistent part is that Fate is real in the world of Jojo, and curses and miracles are the push and pull of this phenomenon, and WoU was the former made Stand, but as an extention of Fate, not a curse. And as most Jojo villains, Tooru got his due for abusing fate for personal gain while the natural pushback accumulated in the background in the form of GoBeyond. In this sense, WoU was a bystander, the Grimm Reaper on his shoulder.

@@MatiasQuintanaV I feel like the "actual" Wonder of U Stand is the garb, not the metallic entity we briefly see garb-less behind Josuke. Note that when the hat was punctured, Wonder of U and Touru treated it as actual damage. I think the metallic being is more like some kind of meta-Stand that gave additional power to Wonder of U's calamity shield. What that's the Stand OF, I don't know; it could be some ridiculously ancient now-User-less Stand like Thoth was established to be in Crazy Diamond's Demonic Heartbreak, or the Stand of the original Locacaca (which Jodio is kind of close to, since that plant was first reported in the South Seas, and remember that between Sugar Mountain and Les Feuilles, we know that plants in the SBR universe CAN bear Stands. Although...is FF a colony of phytoplankton or zooplankton? Even if Foo Fighters wasn't originally their Stand.).
