This is an explanation from lombokfriendly Hi , thanks for doing this awesome reaction. Really enjoyed it. Sending you big hugs from Indonesia. Most people were asking: What are those headpieces she wore? Those headpieces (crowns) she wore called Tiara for females or Mahkota for males. In the past you must wear those kind of headpieces to identify yourself as a royal family member and normally made of gold and silver with diamond installed in the middle of it. Every diamond placed in a Tiara or Mahkota can't be just a normal diamond. It has to be something with a magical power. Meanwhile, headpieces for the usual people are made of clothes. Headpiece is one the most important outfits for almost every ethnic group in Indonesia. Even more important than shirts. In my original tribe and many others, we don't wear shirt for males, We usually wear 3 pieces of sarong (a loose cloth) to cover our waist up to the knee (No shirts on) and of course a headpiece. In my own tradition (Sasak in Lombok) headpiece isn't just an accessory. It is actually more as a symbol that you appreciate your head and to prove that you are responsible to protect it even from the heat. Headpiece is the very first thing you wear when you're born. Your parent will have it made for you a month before you even born. Nowadays, everyone can wear any kind of royal headpieces during their wedding ceremony and many other special occasions. Traditional costumes worn in the video: 1. From the ethnic group (Tribe) of Dayak in Kalimantan called Ta'a (for females) Sapei Sapaq (for males). Their headpieces are made of Hornbill feathers. This is just one of the many traditional costumes belong to the Dayak tribe. 2. I think is from the Kohongian tribe in Sulawesi Utara. This us just one of the many of them in Sulawesi Utara. 3. Based on the headpiece she wore, I think it is from the Asmat tribe called Sali made of bark and decorated with cassowary and bird of paradise feathers. Again, there are so many other traditional costumes in Papua. 4. Kebaya Labuh from the province of Riau. 5. Limpapeh Rumah Nan Gadang from the province of West Sumatera. 6. Payas Agung, Bali. 7. Kebaya Brokat from West Java. 8. Bula Molik (Crescent) made of silver and Gold. What are they singing? (Please refer to the traditional outfits as well because the songs and outfits represent the region where they originated) This video showcases 9 traditional folk songs from 9 ethnic groups out of 879 ethnic group existed in Indonesia. The main song is Bagimu Negeri - One of our national songs. As an Indonesian, there is no way you not gonna cry when singing or listening to that song. It is our oaths to the mother land. Our promises to the nation. And as the answer to the prayers of our parent which Alffy described perfectly through that young mother singing lullaby to her newly born son. A lullaby can't only be just a nice song to bring you to sleep, it consists a prayer, wishes and hopes of our parent to see us grow as someone useful to the nation. Nothing can make them happier than that. By the way, here's the list of the folk songs featured: 1. Paris Barantai from Kalimantan Selatan 2. Si Patokaan from Sulawesi Utara 3. Sajojo from Papua 4. Soleram from Riau 5. Janger from Bali 6. Manuk Dadali from Jawa Barat 7. Anak Kambing Saya from Nusa Tenggara Timur 8. Kampuang Nan Jauh di Mato from Sumatera Barat 9. Tak Lelo Lelo Ledung from Jawa Tengah National song featured is Bagimu Negeri. What is that traditional musical instrument he's playing? That musical instrument is a traditional Dayak instrument called Sape. You must check out UYAU MORI playing Sape SOLO which will bring you into the world of true relaxations. Who did the speech and what is it about? It was the original proclamation speech done by our first president Soekarno. Are those places real? The buildings and nature scenery were all real but yes, CGI effects applied to make the video looks more cinematic. Those floating buildings are; Rumah Gadang (Sumatera), Rumah Toraja (Toraja), Borobudur Buddhist temple (Central Java Near Jogjakarta), and Pura Ulun Danu (Bali). If I'm not mistaken, the Goddess statue where the singer starts her singing is at Royal Pitamaha, Ubud, Bali. Of course they're not floating in real except Pura Ulun Danu which situated on the lake. What is the Symbol that awaken the dragon? It is called Surya Majapahit or known as Dewata Nawa Sanga - The 9 Gods that protect the universe from 9 different dimension compass wise. What are those creatures? The creatures you see at the end of the video are GARUDA and a Dragon known as ANTABOGA from the mythology of the ancient Majapahit kingdom . Antaboga is believed to be the guardian of the underearth dimension. That's why you will find it featured in many of our traditional carvings, crafts, and even in our architectural designs. Meanwhile, Garuda is the main symbol of our country (You can't really showcase it for commercial purposes because It's protected by law). Garuda itself is a huge gigantic bird that can only be found in Indonesia. And is believed by the Hindu as the main vehicle of God Vishnu. Where they shot this video? 1. GWK - Garuda Wishnu Kencana in Bali which known as one of the biggest statues in the world. 2. Royal Pita Maha, Ubud 3. Taman Nusa, Bali 4. Ubud Valley 5. Baleurang, Ubud. Note: Trust me, there are thousands of 'mysteries' yet to be unfold in Indonesia (Nusantara). By the way, thank you for the awesome reaction. It means a lot for all of us in Indonesia.

Mike and Ginger, thank you so much for reviewing it...... It is an independent project by the young man, really young, who was and is still concerned by the conditions that are faced by the local artists, artisans....(he was in Bali at the time). He sold his car, and being young, tried his hands on something he is really fond of, electronically generated music with visual effects and other technological stuff. The video is called "the Beauty of Bali". He just thinks that this way, he can pay forward, as he feels more fortunate than his counterparts in Bali. So, the project was social in nature. During these tough times, we feel that as a nation, unless we have that fire to be of service to others, we can not survive. We are too diverse. Our volunteerism is one of the highest in the world? Gotong Royong or, collaboratively completing particular tasks (such as weddings, or building houses) is a value deeply embedded in our vein. Back to the subject of Alffy Rev. Based on the reaction he got on his Beauty of Bali project, he then went on to try something bigger. With collaboration, he managed to supplement his tiny seed money left over from the first project with enough funds to start, this one, wonderland Indonesia. In the end, there were some supports from our government. This is not an easy task to complete. It takes a lot of resilience, direction, vision, leadership ability, enterprising mind etc. The aim, from his part, was to present the diverse culture of our country in a way that young people of Indonesia, to start to appreciate the local subcultures (almost three hundred different ones...), to start appreciating the nuances, the different customs, costumes, culinary, landscapes etc. For a long time, they have been heavily into western pop culture, which is not bad at all, but needs a balancing factor. A stronger awareness of own identity. I built a movement that promotes activities that appeal to young ones also the professionals in mid to upper mid-class, to appreciate and understand their own DNA. We do not have the strongest and cleanest government ....we do not have the most advanced economy in South East Asia even. But we have this strength. Our respect towards one another, our readiness to embrace the amalgamation of the diverse subcultures that was rooted in this archipelago. So the clip was not aimed to be enjoyed in a casual and shall i say by 'innocent bystanders', but really, this was made to commemorate our independence day..... 76 year young. This hard work of Alffy is a gift from him to his fellow Indonesians and anyone else in this world whose hearts are open to learning other people, other culture's history, background, suffering, learning, journey, growth, pain, happiness, understanding, wisdom .....the list is endless. We need to be seen through special lenses. I surfed on this youtube "world", and came across nothing but generosity and kindness that is expressed in certain verbal and nonverbal reactions. I appreciate that you choose some Indonesian songs to react to, and were generous enough with your review. This time, the music video attaches more meaning to it, and concerning our future generation. They are just trying their best. Here in our country, we do not have money-making machines behind our "production' of artists...... Here, these young lads -the best ones- survive through indie modes.... independent - i mean, unlike the Korean singers, for eg..... Well.... i do not infer that being commercial is bad, but you can imagine the hardship that they choose in order to maintain their independence in expressing their artistry. The review rooms like you have are good for their mental strengthening training. In Indonesia, we have this saying, 'sawang sinawang' which means what meets the eyes are not always what it really is.... There is much more to it. For eg.....the dragon and the flying manta ray are there, avatar-like, to attract young kids to watch, to learn more about the roots .....This functions as a frame. A strategy. At a glance, it seems like a nation-based issue etc. But actually, it is more fundamental. It relates to universal -ly recognized values, such as love, compassion, respect, empathy, and.....since this a celebration of independence, also, a celebration of humanity...... a celebration of equality....a celebration of diversity..... embracing differences. When we display our multicultural show, it is not always made to attract tourists. In fact, mass tourism is something that we are now really careful to accommodate. There are a lot of discussions, forums, and deep collective thinking amongst the intellectuals and the decision-makers that brainstorm various ways to allow visitors to come, while still protecting our culture and nature. Like a beautiful girl, we have a lot of suitors, never short of people who wish to visit us. So, please kindly understand, that many videos that circle around showing off our conditions here are our mechanism to self preserve, while at the same trying to enlighten and entertain people around the world,. We just attempt to add color. Just like your Hollywood movies have entertained us for decades, or the music which we - Indonesians- are forever grateful for? Even though we have different "feathers" ....all nations are not too different from peacocks that like to show off their colorful feathers.

I don’t understand how you could have possibly read disrespect in our reaction here. You make a lot of harsh assumptions. And if you don’t like us reacting to things like this, then perhaps you should have a word with the literally DOZENS of your fellow countrymen who requested a reaction to it. They were eager to share their pride, and the glory of your country, and spread it around the world, to inspire and encourage others. That is the spirit we took it in. - G

Why is the creature in the final scene not "Garuda"? Why Dragon? The mythological creature in the last scene of “Wonderland Indonesia” is a manifestation of Antaboga (Ontobugo) and Garuda. In ancient Javanese wayang, Antaboga is the king of snakes who guards the bowels of the earth. Ruler of the "underworld". The figure of Antaboga or Naga is inherent in Javanese and Balinese culture. usually found in gamelan carvings, gates and gates as a symbol of "guardian". Physically Antaboga is more like a dragon, but we develop it by combining the gallant Garuda with its wings. As a symbol of the guardian of the world above and below. And on the forehead there is a symbol of "Surya Majapahit" which means Dewata Nawa Sanga. Nine guardian gods in every direction of the compass. Why not Garuda with its Pancasila? Garuda Pancasila is a symbol of the state which is certainly sensitive if it is imagined anciently. Because the symbol of the country is protected by law. That's a bit of a fairy tale. Greetings #WonderlandIndonesia | Cultured Freedom!

Indonesia is a unified nation of 17.491 islands from the Sabang until Merauke and hasa wide variety of islands, customs, arts, cultures, dances, tribal songs, religions and languages. The first dance and the first song is the dance from Borneo (Kalimantan). Here are the details: 1. The local song and dress areas are used in the common Paris Barantai (Kalimantan). 2. Si Patokaan regional song (North Sulawesi) 3. Sajojo county song (Papua). 4. Soleram (Riau). 5. Kampuang nan Jauh Di Mato (West Sumatra) and a plate dance. 6. Traditional instrument instrument named "Sape" (Kalimantan). 7. Janger (Bali) dance. 8. The song of the "Manuk Dadali" region (West Java). 9. The song of the " Anak Kambing Saya" (Nusa Tenggara Timur / NTT). 10. Tak Lelo Lelo Lelo Ledhung (Central Java). 11. The declaration of Independence of Indonesia was brought to you by the original voice of Indonesia's first President. "Ir. Soekarno". 12. A song "Bagimu Negeri" National song of Indonesia. In the video there's a dragon, it's an anthaboga. Antaboga is a mythological creature that is legendary in almost every corner of the world. His presence is still a great puzzle in life on earth. Each country in the world has a belief in dragons, in its own version. Indonesia, for a certainty, also had a dragon figure that became mythology. The dragon was named the Hyang Antaboga (Java call it Ontobugo). For the peoples of Java and Bali, the story of Antaboga has been handed down from generation to generation with the same story, drawn from the story of the puppet. The same beliefs and tales about antaboga in Java and Bali are due to the common belief of people in the era of Hindu-Buddhist teachings developing in nusantara. For Javans, Antaboga was the earth's buffer god. Antaboga is a manifestation of the dragon in the mythology of the Javanese pirates. Sang Hyang Antaboga was one of the characters in the form of a dragon and had a number of powers, one of which was to bring a dead body back to life. In the story of the passage, the Antaboga is depicted as living in a place called "Saptapralata" or seven layers of earth underground. He also had a wife named Goddess Supreti, who looked like a dragon. From there he had offspring and children. Javanese belief in dragons, is really not only portrayed in an anthaboga figure. Before it appeared, in the relief from the majapahit also appeared a representation of the dragon. Nagaraja Anuhut Surya relief was found in the Sawentar temple, in Blitar (East Java), dated 1396 c.e. Happy 76th of Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia to all Indonesian people everywhere in the world. MERDEKA!!! 🇮🇩💪

What?? Mike & Ginger reacted to Wonderland Indonesia? Ohh man, this makes my day. It means a lot for us in Indonesia. Thank you so much. You know we love you Mike & Ginger. In case you'd like to understand what this video is about, here are some details. I may not be 100% correct about it, but it'll give you a much deeper understanding about the messages in the video. Meanwhile about the statemetement narrated in the beginning of the video 'Indonesia is the most beautiful land in the universe' I think was added for marketing purposes only. We all believe that every places are equally beautiful based on their own uniqueness and identities. MOST PEOPLE WERE ASKING: ARE THOSE FLOATING ISLANDS REALLY EXIST? Of course no. What this video trying to tell is that indonesia has plenty of unique historical sites spread over many different islands from west to the eastern part of the country. Of course they're not floating in real except the Pura Ulun Danu in Bali which situated on the lake. Those floating buildings are; Rumah Gadang (Sumatera), Rumah Tongkonan (Tana Toraja), Borobudur Buddhist temple (Magelang), and Pura Ulun Danu (Bali). The Goddess statues where the singer starts her singing is at Royal Pitamaha, Ubud, Bali. Again, All of the buildings and nature sceneries are real, but yes, CGI effects applied to make it looks more cinematic. WHAT ARE THOSE HEADPIECES SHE WORE? Those headpieces (crowns) she wore in general called TIARA for females or MAHKOTA for males. In the past you must wear those kind of headpieces to identify yourself as a royal family member. Both Tiara and Mahkota are normally made of gold or silver with diamond installed in the middle of it. Every diamond placed in a Tiara or Mahkota can't be just a diamond. It has to be one with magical power. Headpiece is one the most important outfits for almost every ethnic group in Indonesia, even more important than shirts. In my original tribe and many others, Males don't wear shirt. We only wear 3 pieces of sarong (a loose cloth) to cover our waist up to the knee (No shirts on) and of course a headpiece. Headpiece isn't just an accessory. It is actually more as a symbol that you appreciate your head as the most important part of your body and to prove that you are responsible to protect it even from the heat. Headpiece is the very first thing you wear when you're born. Your parent will have it made for you months before you even born. Nowadays, anyone can wear those kind of royal headpieces during their wedding ceremony and many other special occasions. Traditional costumes worn in the video: 1. From the ethnic group of Dayak in Kalimantan called Ta'a (for females) Sapei Sapaq (for males). Their headpieces are made of Hornbill feathers. This is just one of the many traditional costumes belong to the Dayak tribe. 2. I think is from the Kohongian tribe in Sulawesi Utara. 3. Based on the headpiece she wore, I think it is from the Asmat tribe called Sali made of bark and decorated with cassowary and bird of paradise feathers. 4. Kebaya Labuh from the province of Riau. 5. Limpapeh Rumah Nan Gadang from the province of West Sumatera. 6. Payas Agung, Bali. 7. Kebaya Brokat from West Java. 8. Bula Molik (Crescent) made of silver and Gold, NTT. WHAT ARE THEY SINGING? (Please refer to the traditional outfits as well because the songs and outfits represent the region where they originated) This video showcases 9 traditional folk songs from 9 out of 1430 tribes existed in Indonesia (BPS 2010). The main song is Bagimu Negeri - One of our national songs, not an anthem. NOTE: As an Indonesian, there is no way you not gonna cry when singing or listening to that song. It is our oaths to the mother land. Our promises to the nation. An answer to the prayers of our parent which Alffy described perfectly through that young mother singing lullaby to her newly born son. WHERE THEY SHOT THE VIDEO? 1. GWK - Garuda Wishnu Kencana in Bali which known as one of the biggest statues in the world. 2. Royal Pita Maha, Ubud 3. Taman Nusa, Bali 4. Ubud Valley 5. Balerung, Ubud. NOTE: - There are thousands of 'mysteries' yet to be unfold in Indonesia (Nusantara). - Alffy Rev is a musical genius. A multi-instrumentalist. He's a producer, director, and an editor. Please check out his other songs; Mother Earth, Beautiful We Are and Beauty Of Bali. - Novia Bachmid is a finalist of Indonesian Idol 2020. Please check out her cover of Faozia's Mountain LIVE at the Room Mate Project. You'll love her. By the way, thank you for the awesome reaction. It means a lot for all of us in Indonesia.
