He just saved Iron Man. He still got his ass killed by Kaecilius while Strange had to solve the mess with Dormammu. He didn't save everyone's asses because he stayed chilling in the sanctum while Strange used the time stone to figure a way to beat Thanos. And he barely did anything useful against Wanda other than lead her to the temple for the book she needed, it was, you guessed it, Strange who did something. And yet Wong is the sorcerer supreme...

@@thedarkknight2221 Strange is a better leader, in fact, the Ancient One said he was meant to be THE best of them which is something that has been shown with Dormammu, Thanos, now Wanda, yet Wong keeps the title for locking himself in the sanctum for five years while Strange died trying to save the universe.

@@skar8009 he didn’t “lock himself” in the sanctum. He had far more wisdom and experience than Strange. Yes he is the best among them, but that doesn’t mean you are also the best leader. Look at Thor, after Ragnarok it seemed like he was going to truly embrace his role as king of Asgard. Instead he failed to stop Thanos from killing half of what was left of the Asgardians, failed to to kill Thanos in time before the snap, and failed to lead his people in the 5 years after all that. Plus even in the comics Strange has always been that guy who looks for a way to win on his own rather than work with others, partly because of his ego.

@@thedarkknight2221 That's pretty much what Wong did during Infinity and the five years of Endgame. Sorry I judge what I see onscreen and based on that Strange did a lot more to regain his title of SS. In most factions, you'd find that the leader is the best of the group, both in power and leadership. Thanos was simply too strong for Thor at the beginning, it was Loki's fault since he stole the tesseract. Thor had the qualities to be leader but he choose to go find his own path and left a drunk woman to lead Asgard instead.

I like Wong as the Sorcerer Supreme more than strange. Wong seems to be more involved than strange. We see Wong in Shang-Chi 2 times. He was leaving for Kamar-Taj in No Way Home. We only ever saw strange in the New York sanctum. after MoM strange seems to be on a different path

and we musn't forget that Strange hasn't been a sorcerer that long (also dead for 5 years) and thus wouldn't be as knowledgeable, connected and experienced as Wong. it makes a lot more sense for Wong to be the Sorcerer Supreme. sadly, however, if the movies follow the comics then Wong will have to die or lose his magic/otherwise be unable to continue being the sorcerer supreme for Strange to take on this position.

I saw him on Marco Polo and LOOOOOOVED HIS ACCENT and how he played character. Then I caught him on Black Mirror. I was like... This guy is so good man. I wasn't that excited about Doctor Strange but I was actually excited about HIM so... I'm so glad he gets time to shine as his own. He has such a unique look. He's so good.

I mean it makes perfect sense for Wong to be the Sorcerer Supreme as he has vast seniority over Stephen Strange who, despite being talented, came to the mystic arts only recently. you don't promote an entry-level employee to CEO after only half a year.

I remember after watching Dr. Strange way back in 2016, I searched for the names of the cast in this movie and I wasn't really familiar with Benedict Wong at that time, then I see him in the cast "Benedict Wong as Wong". I thought someone was just editing it in google or something but then I clicked it and actually see and realized that his last name is actually Wong, my mind was blown away lmao

I still get goose bumps when I hear "on your left" and 'Avengers assemble' in Endgame. (yes, it's one of the few films I'll watch over and over). In the theater that I saw it in, everyone in the audience started jumping up, clapping and screaming at the word '"assemble"!! We went crazy!!
