It appears that her jaw is not only a bit wonky, but the lower jaw seems to be a bit shorter than it is supposed to be ... which is what makes her little tongue stick out permanently in that adorable way. Very pretty little kitty, she seems happy.

Her lower jaw is deformed, which causes both of her canines to be on one side, which also contributes to the lopsided blep.

I have a 16 year old Tortie. She has been vocal her whole life. She still fetches her ball and sings a song to let me know she's got it for me to throw. She's so sweet.

I have a tortie that is so sweet. When I first got her, she never made a sound and even her purrs were so quiet you could only hear them by putting your ear to her body. Now? She absolutely lets me know when she wants something and makes this adorable mrrp noise as a greeting and her purrs are finally loud enough to hear from a foot away or so.

@@johnzimpelman9018 I know have a torbie after joking if I can't have a calico a torite will do, I have never lived with a tortie. she is a handful and was dull grey when we got her, now her coat patches are very visible they are an imp but i love them dearly.

I've often wondered just how much cats understand what we are saying. I recognize the tone of my voice for words like food, come, and stop sound different and they react accordingly. They also clearly know that the pause after we speak is their CUE to respond. Sometimes I think they understand more than a lot of people do!

I used to “threaten” my girl cat by fake-scolding her - and she knew that meant I was going to “get her” with kisses and hugs. She knew. She’d start squirming in anticipation. It was our thing. ❤😂 I miss her so much.

Cats can understand 25-50 words. They don't meow to each other in the wild, it is for human's benefit as we like it and they like it because we give them food and scratches when they do it.

I had a feral rescue tortie. She was a mama's girl. I had her for 15 years before I lost her to antibiotic related liver failure. Don't ever let your vet give your cat or dog convenia shot. Read up on this dangerous antibiotic. I'm glad you gave Gremlin a home. Give her a kiss for me!

I adopted my dark tortie Abi in 2010 when she was 7 months old. Her previous owner handed her to the shelter, pregnant and with a broken tail. Abi has never been able to jump higher than her height. So I've placed boxes around the house so she can climb and jump to het to where she wants to go. (Hasn't stopped her weight growth sadly, despite having all the checks done by the vet, she is just a lazy girl!). But her and I have many a conversation, everyday! When it's too quiet, I'll hear a little squeak, so I'll squeak back. Then comes the full on conversation. And I swear I have a more adult sensible conversation with her than I could have with some humans!

She's a Beautiful Tortie.They know what you've done for them.Glad you saved her.We rescued 4 abandoned cats,all pregnant.15 years ago.Took all the cats and kittens to Nueter Scooter. Mobile Service.Our Tortie,Freckles made it to 14.Lost her a year ago.Anywhere my wife and I were-she was there.Still have her sister.They are the most affectionate cats in the world.She was Quite the talker too.

One of my best experiences with helping save strays was trapping a very pregnant young tortie. At the time I was in an apartment complex. After I got her, the rescue I’d been in touch with came and picked her up. They eventually sent me photos of her and her kittens ❤, safe and sound.

I love it when a cat gets like that and talks with you. I never understood people who run their mouths all day long making noise and then scream at the cat for making a tiny little peep. This cat remembers struggling outside going hungry and it appreciates and loves this woman.

Gremlin reminds me so much of my Ray. He died at the age of 16. I loved him and miss him. When he wanted attention, he would sit on my lap and poke me with his paw. It was very endearing. He liked to talk too. 😺❤️😺🤗
