Actually if I remember correctly, during her izone days, Wonyoung had said she was really insecure about how tall she was. And now that she's older, she's even taller. I'm sure she hates it, since when everyone talks about her, they always mention her height. It's become somewhat of a sore spot for her I think. When most guys in Korea talk about girls, they talk about always wanting a short girl. There are some Korean dating shows I've seen where Korean guys will actually not pick a girl because she was too tall. So the stigma around tall girls in Korea has probably heavily contributed to her insecurity about it. Famous actor Park Seo-joon even publicly said he won't date a tall girl.

I don't think she "hates" the fact that she's tall, this is probably just banter. Being tall is part of the reason why she's so popular after all. She probably disliked it back then because she was pretty tall for her age, but now that she's an adult this isn't really that out of the ordinary, plenty of female kpop idols are close to her height Plus like, isn't it part of the korean beauty standart to be over 165 cm? Not doubting that some men there might prefer short women, but from the comments she usually gets from knetz I'd guess they like her height a lot

I guess in most countries people prefer short woman. I'm about 1,66 and I'm actually pretty insecure about my height, even though is medium. The thing is that I grew taller way before than the rest of the people my age. When I was around 14 I reached my currently height and stopped growing (I'm 20 now). So the fact that I was always taller than the other always haunt me, even though I'm just average. It is, in fact, really unpleasant to be tallest one, specially if you are a girl.

@@rikouwu6317 To say something doesnt mean is true. (I'm not saying that she's lying either) Maybe she just wants to feel confident in front of the cameras, as there are so many people watching her. But for her behaviour, she seems very uncomfortable yet, which is such a pity. Our insecurities dont vanish away like that, specially when there are so many people around you talking about every single aspect of you all the time and just expecting a little mistake of you to hate on you.

I’m the same height as Wonyoung so I completely understand. It’s hard to find clothes and shoes when your tall and constantly tower over your friends and almost everyone. I like my height but I’m not gonna lie there are times where I which I was short. 😂

Yeah i'm also the same height and age as wony, all my life i have been asked by people around me how it feels to be so tall and why i am so tall in general. Because of these unending questions, i started slouching and i'm still trying to get over this. Most people want to get taller but when they see someone taller than them, they don't hesitate to ask such weird questions. They unknowingly make us feel insecure about our height. That's why i understand and relate to her very well.

@@i.like.onepiece. Yeah the questions are really annoying cause it’s always the same. Cause your not exactly tall but your not short either so it’s this awkward middle height. A lot of people wish they were her Wonyoung’s height but don’t understand the challenges of finding jeans that are actually at your ankles, or finding a dress or skirt that’s long enough to not go over your knees but not short enough to go under. Something that helps me is that I always go to Wonyoung and Yujin along with Lesserafim’s Yunjin for inspiration for my clothing and shoes. If anyone is gonna understand how hard it is to be this height and have good fashion sense and deal with it it’s them. Most people don’t notice that a majority of the shoes they where are boots, sneakers and flats.

Meanwhile here in the US height standards are at an all time unhealthy. I am a 6'1 (186) 14 y.o guy and no one is impressed. Some girls tell you you are not tall enough because now everyone here wants to date 6'5 (195cm) guys. College 6'1 - 6'2 guys complain on Reddit about feeling short, and 6'6 - 6'9 is becoming like the new golden standard because 6'5 is not rare. I like that you guys appreciate height more fairly there. Sounds like a dream to be considered to tall at 5'8 haha, even as a woman.
