IVE Wonyoung’s “Real Voice” goes viral for being low-pitched. It is university festival season in South Korea, and as one of the top girl groups, IVE is making appearances at various universities. Wonyoung, in particular, has been gaining attention. At first, it was just for her spectacular visuals. Later on, videos of her live singing went viral. Netizens were pleasantly surprised by the way her voice was lower than her usual register. They also praised her for her vocal projection and for her constant improvement. Wonyoung’s usual voice is in a higher register. Fans have often wondered if she puts on a higher voice for social and public situations to appear friendlier and more approachable. She can be seen speaking with a lower voice when she does not register the camera.

It’s called a lower register . Every singer has one , it doesn’t mean they’re faking their voice. You can’t fake what belongs to you. She chose to sing the prechorus in a high register and sang the other part lower. And that’s not what she went viral for; she went viral for her vocal improvement not for “fake voice “. These so -called news channels need to stop spreading distorted things.

I dont usually watch interviews but in the two interviews with Ive that I have watched, Wonyoung had a higher voice. Honestly I don't believe she was faking but the difference is quite obvious

No, her voice is naturally lower when she speaks, it's not faking her voice because we can change our pitch whenever we want, when i work i tend to talk in a higher pitch to sound more friendly and approachable, no one said her voice is fake, you're the one distorting things

Yeah exactly. I have seen her in shows and like with yujin etc .. she does have a higher pitch voice for normal talking . Singing voice is modulated obvs. I sound different when I sing too and it differs from song to song.

Anyway we can control our voice. My real voice is low pitch but when on phone call, im user higher pitch to sound friendlier. And sometimes use higher pitch like anime voice

Changing the pitch of your voice is completely normal when I’m with my friends or classmates I speak in a lower pitch but when I talk to my teachers or mum the pitch of my voice goes higher

We all as humans tend to pitch our voices higher when we speak to better our intonation and diction, it’s something that’s done without much thought. Some obviously pitch their voices higher than others but it’s a regular thing when speaking. In her case she’s singing so she probably just felt it more comfortable to pitch her voice in a more neutral tone.

When I was in primary school, I always spoke in a high-pitched voice to the teachers because I am very embarrassing. Once there was one of the worst teachers who came to give us a course and I said goodbye to her with that voice. no one is talking like a baby and no one is being forced to to talk in any way. different registers exist. you may not notice because you aren’t analyzing people in your every day life, but contrary to what you might believe, changes in pitch when someone speaks is actually normal.

Rosé does not fake her voice. The only source of her faking her voice is her predebut song without you and her audition clip, but rosé said in an interview with billboard that she discovered her vocal tone while training, so after without you. She does not fake her voice.

@dollyday83 I'm well aware, and have spoken about it plenty of times before. I don't believe that wonyoung has ever changed her voice at all, but rather just sings in higher versus lower registers, which affects how her voice sounds.
