www.peakmtncamps.com/ We wanted to see how long it took to raise the temperature from below freezing to a comfortable temperature using the wood burning stove in our Peak Mtn Camp.

I like the wood stove in a mobile application. You'll always have plenty of heat. I'd stuff mine with wood furniture, so my emergency fuel supply was always right there under my ---. This one is quite cozy. I would want an eyebrow of roof over that door, for getting out (and in) when it snows heavy. Just extend that roof line another few or several feet. This one features a full-length-of-the-body awning that's rolled up, at present. In a semi-permanent camp, I'll have a covered-over work space, outside, within a day or two. Sometimes it's the first thing. I kind of doubt an RV awning would hold up to the snow. Still, I really like a camper channel that's all about winter.

Wood stoves are trending in camping vans, and motor homes, getting back to basics.......

I love these camps and thinking seriously about getting one. But I need a wood stove you can cook/bake/heat with, along with the propane stove. I lived in one during college thru med school. now retired @ 70, I'm wanting to live in a camp again full time, on my remote acreage in the Ozarks. in these final years, in good health I want to live like my great great great grandfather, Daniel Boone. I did it once from 18 years to 25 years and loved every minute of it. I can do it again. because with JESUS, nothing is impossible.

Amen!! You got this. Our ancestors lived in much worse conditions. Been living in a fifth wheel with my husband and dog for almost two years now, also in the Ozarks. 😃 Our current heater is eating up our propane, among other issues, so we're really considering purchasing and installing a wood burning stove.

What is it? A little camper on a massive flatbed? It's not for caravan-ing. It's what it says. It's a camp. More of a long-term thing. Drag it where you want it, and leave it for months or years. There's an obvious sanitation problem to be solved with such an application. There will be no sewage treatment plant. You've gotta deal with your septic, and make sure you're not poisoning the water or feeding the flies and spreading disease. You could end up hauling it to local disposal site or paying roto-rooter for regular visits or something.

OIC. They're not as beefy as my first impression from the opening shot in the snow.

I was wondering about woodstoves for campers when I saw this on you tube....are there circulating woodstoves for camper trailers??
@peakmountaincamps Жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. The issue you are going to run into with 90% of the trailers out there is that they are equipped with rubber roofs. Rubber and wood stoves are bad combinations. Of course there are ways of putting them in. It just requires a bit of work and materials.

Do you treat the framing wood so that termites don't transfer easily from the wood for the stove to the camp itself ?

Where did you get this stove from? I only can find mini wood stoves for temporary usage. Need help

Do the camps have air conditioning and a regular heater?
@peakmountaincamps4 жыл бұрын
Kim they do! Of course each camp is custom built to the customers specs so you could get it with or without those options. We love the wood stove but when we are feeling a little to lazy to start a fire it is nice to just be able to hit the thermostat and turn on the furnace.

I had a wood burning stove in a cabin, and it could get so hot I had to open all the doors and windows. Does this one get hotter than 65 degrees?
@harrymills2770 Жыл бұрын
If it got the space to 65 in 15 minutes, do you think it's done warming the place? Warm in 15 minutes says it's got more than enough to drive you out of there. But the fire-starting looked pretty sketch. Was he holding a butane lighter to a bunch of 2x6's? That's kinda how it looked, with him holding the lighter on for so long. Just made it seem like he didn't know what he was doing. So it's hard to judge how he judged the 15 minutes. My guess is he was at it a half hour before he got it to catch.

If it's UL-listed for this application, I'm guessing it's a Kimberly.

You have to constantly feed it wood. What happens at night ? Do you wake up in freezing cold ?
@TheMohingan2 жыл бұрын
You build the fire in a way so that it burns down slowly through the night, and then leaves embers to build another in the mornings.
@harrymills2770 Жыл бұрын
You said 15 minutes, but what you failed to tell your viewers is you were warm from the moment you started laying and lighting the fire. Wood fires warm you twice.

What travel trailer it is? Insulation good?
@peakmountaincamps3 жыл бұрын
It’s a peak Mtn camp. They are built very similar to a home with both roof and floor coming with a R rating of right around 24 and the walls are a R9. So not many trailers come even close unless they are exaggerating their numbers dramatically.
